I am a simple dude from Louisiana and have never seen a store like this. For me it was about the same as the first time I visited a Hobby Lobby. There I wanted to stab myself in the head with fake flowers. Here I wanted to suffocate myself in a gold lame furry suitcase (that I later bought). Sam Moon is a giant store loaded with jewelry, bags, phone cases, and every other thing you would think a young girl would like. Since I happen to have a few young girls related to me, they loved this store like they used to love me before they grew up. They were all like: OMG LOOK AT THE GOLD LAME BAG DAD I NEED TO HAVE IT IN MY LIFE OMG OMG. And I was like: Negative kid that is the most absurd thing I have ever seen. And she was like: OMG WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO MUCH OMG OMG IT IS BEAUTIFUL. ANd I was like: I am sticking to my guns there is no way I am getting that bag. I purchased 3 pairs of earrings. When I got home, I discovered one pair had been placed in a small plastic bag, along with a stone that had already fallen out. Since then , another pair lost a setting. Incredibly poorly made and not worth any price. I'll never shop there again. I would actually give Sam Moon zero stars. read more

I went in for only the second time since I have lived in Dallas. My experience was bad I went into the women restroom and the smell was awful it was like something died in there. Anyway I bought lots of stuff most of it was on sale so I was happy about what I had bought until I get home and at least 7 pieces of jewelry I had bought was falling apart. Some of the stones had fallen out on the ride home, couple of the earrings backs had broken off I wasn't to upset because it was very cheap and I will super glue them together. My friend took me here for the first time and there was a lot to see. I do agree there's a lot of "junk" here but there were some special things too. The prices are a little more than I'd pay for the jewelry but I will admit there were some eye catching bracelets and keychains. I'll definitely be back. I came to Sam Moon to find a small luggage bag for my upcoming trip. I recently moved into the area and didn't want to travel to the Dallas location out of convenience. While deciding between two bags one of the store workers was standing in the middle of the aisle as if I was going to steal something. I didn't make a scene but I calmly looked him in the eye as I walked out of the door. The worker left the area as soon as I started walking away. I would not recommend this store to any one due to this treatment. I'm disgusted at the staff for watching me like a hawk as if I was planning on steal a big ass bag. read more

BE CAREFUL OF THIS STORE! THEY OVERCHARGED ME! I've gone to Sam Moons for years and love their merchandise ...but their employees are rude and have overcharged me more than once. Last Friday I challenged the lady ringing things up because I only got 7 things and she quickly acted like she counted the items in my bag and the amount was correct and motioned for me to move so she could bring up the next person. I walked out of the store went to dinner with a friend, so I didn't check the receipt because she had just supposedly checked it... Went home (which is an hour from store) and realized she overcharged me $14 for an item that wasn't in my bag... Even after I told her it was too much and she acted like she checked it - she still overcharge me!!! Watch them as they ring things up and check your receipts!!! They treat customers as if they're doing you a favor taking your money and we're stupid for doubting them. Horrible customer service! read more

Went to the store to return 1 item of 9 I purchased. There were 3 women standing at customer service. They pointed to date on my receipt and said, "too late, past 14 days". I showed them the date and said it is still within the 14 days and then they said, "doesn't matter anyway, final sale, no return". I asked where it stated it was final sale and they said, "everyone knows". Excuse me? I've shopped here once, how am I supposed to know it's a final sale if it's not on the tag or receipt"? They told me to go look at sign near the hats. I went to the exact item I purchased and walked up and down each row and didn't see any "final sale" signs. Now I was irritated and came back to the women and said that I can't find their sign. The woman rudely said, "come look". She walked up and down two aisles and lifted a hat under the 2nd shelf. There was a small "final sale" taped on this shelf. I said, ok, this hat is not the same as the one I purchased, show me where this hat has a sign. She said, "all hats are final and everyone knows you can't return, what do you want us to do?" I told her I want her to return the item that doesn't have a sign saying final sale. She said, no. Listen, I know I didn't purchase anything of high value here, but how do they get away with lying to the public? What a disgusting business practice and the worst customer service. They don't deserve anyone's business. The return policy on the back of the receipt does not list hats as an item you cannot return. It's in the some bag and attached tags as the day it was purchased. Unethical and unprofessional business! Big mistake to give them any business. There are other well deserving Frisco small businesses to support than Scam Moon. read more

I actually used to like shopping at Sam Moon for purses and I was impressed that they've expanded the store and the type of items they sell, which I said to one of the personnel. But...my children and I, being African American, appeared to offend the sense of one of the workers. He followed us throughout the store. Everywhere I went he was there, pretending to be putting bags back in place. Now mind you, I came in carrying a PRADA bag. I didn't have to spend money there, it was just a nice outing and I hadn't been in a long time. The fact that this guy felt it necessary to treat me and my children like criminals was very noticeable. None of the white customers had the same attention. I watched and never saw any one of them followed like I was. It was so noticeable that after about 20 minutes, I loudly told the kids I was tired of us being stalked as though we were there to steal something and it was time to go. I did buy a bag I wanted just to show him I was a paying customer. But sadly, that will probably be my very last trip to the store. Just be warned if you're a person of color, or dressed for the weekend, you will likely be treated differently than others. read more

I've been going to Sam Moons since I was in college. I would get off of a shift from waiting tables in Denton, fill a car with my friends and drive to Harry Hines to visit the mecca of all jewelry places. Back then it was a wholesaler and you had to spend at least $30. Now, Sam Moons has changed. I only have to travel to Frisco in a much safer neighborhood and and there is no spending limit. Yes, I saw some of the reviews that the jewelry is cheap and don't waist your money. Now, I go for trendy jewelry that I don't want to spend $50 on at boutique. I guarantee that the trendy boutiques buy their jewelry from the same place Sam Moon does. He just sells at a less mark up. I have bought some items that I have had since I started teaching 16 years ago and I have had some things fall apart the first time I wore it. You get what you pay for. My sterling Silver pieces have lasted the longest. The costume jewelry has not been as dependable. My favorite necklace that I had for a year just broke the other day, but I only paid $8 and I didn't feel bad when it broke. It was excuse to go back. Now for the purses and belts, I can't comment on. I don't buy those items there. I have bought scarves and hair accessories. And they have all held up well. Now for the security and the rude sales people. You have to remember this place started on Harry Hines. They had to watch you like a hawk and unfortunately there are shop lifters in this world. The workers are there to keep the costs down and not loose inventory to theft. So if you want friendly sales associates go to the trendy boutiques, if you want affordable jewelry go to Sam Moons. I have to tell you a little secret my husband gets a lot of sports "Stars" in his office, but the day I got a little giddy was when he had "The Sam Moon" in his office. I was in awe. Someone told my MIL (mother in law) about this place, so she and my mother wanted to go. I took them, thinking it'd be similar to Charming Charlie. Not. At. All. It's big and filled with cheaper than cheap jewelry, cheap bags, cheap shoes, cheap etc. Now don't get me wrong. I like my costume jewelry as much as the next! But I was underwhelmed here. I let them do their thing, and patiently walked around amused at the quality of the items I saw. Most of it was just downright gaudy. We didn't have any issues with rude salespeople as mentioned in other reviews, so I was glad about that. I bought luggage from this store and decided to return it when I found a much cheaper piece online. First the associate tried to give me a store credit and acted like there was an issue because I wanted the refund. Then Scott the manager and his associate refused to even attempt to process my return because they personally couldn't verify my card (instead of letting the system do it). Apple doesn't put the card number on the card..not my fault. He told me to come back on Monday to call the accounting dept. I came back Monday morning and the associates processed the return without an issue. They never even looked at the card, just told me to insert it. So why was I ever treated like a criminal even though I presented the receipt and my original card? I'll never shop there again since it's that hard to do a simple return. Stay away!! I always love shopping here and buying 1-3 purses each visit! Ever since they stopped separating the 2 stores, it's been a mess and with less product. I don't stop by here anymore like I used to but I might at one point. They used to carry Home Grown by Enesco figures that I would buy and they completely stopped carrying them once transitioning. If you like costume jewelry though, this is the place to be. BUT! Be warned, the pretty "sterling silver" rings they carry in the glass cases aren't real sterling silver. Found that out the hard way a year ago. Do not spend the high prices for the fake sterling silver, it might look and feel high quality and real, but it isn't. Don't make my same mistake. read more

My mother and I decided to stop by to check out their sun hats selection for our upcoming trip to Hawaii. We remembered Sam Moon having a large variety of items, however, our experience was all-around unpleasant. As a fellow Korean, I am very well aware of how impatient some older Korean business owners can be and we were very conscious about this while shopping. When browsing, we kept touching to a minimum and only tried on a few hats that we were interested in purchasing (all of which ended up being very tiny). While shopping, one worker lady followed us throughout the store, she would dramatically fix anything we slightly touched or even looked at. This wasn't a huge deal but I was shocked when she started talking about us in Korean. I guess she must've assumed we weren't Korean/couldn't understand since we were only speaking English in the store, but this was extremely offputting and disrespectful. After reading many of the other reviews, our experience doesn't appear to be an isolated incident. It saddens me to see this kind of discrimination from a business. read more

It was a little overwhelming walking in. They have so much stuff. Tons of jewelry for every occasion. I was thinking when my girls have a dance it would be perfect to go to for little purses and jewelry. The cloths was ok. Tons of luggage and purses. I ended up buying two bags. They were very reasonably priced and made well. They had some make up, scarves, hats, shoes and other random stuff also. The prices seems very reasonable to me. I had to see what this place was about. I heard it was this awesome accessories store where you can find all kinds of costume jewelry. It was even advertised in one of those Dallas tour guide books as a "must see". Ummm...no...it's a bunch of cheapo jewelry and designer wannabe purses. You know the jewelry they sell at the beauty supply stores and flea markets that's wrapped in cellophane? That's all it is. I didn't buy anything but it looks like everything in here will tarnish. They also have someone sitting by the door on a podium (not a greeter because they didn't even say hello) and I guess their job is to look over the store and make sure no one steals. I am probably the cheapest person you will ever meet when it comes to spending money on myself, so if you are like me you will actually find this store a bit pricey. They want $25-40 for a purse. A purse that's just going to carry around my Id and receipts. Really...If that's any clue as to how cheap I am then you will think this store has amazing deals. I always enjoy walking around it and looking at stuff. And I did have a good experience around Christmas time I walked in with $45 and walked out with gifts for seven of my distant family members. My in laws brought us here for some birthday items. We visited this location on June 1st. I thought it was a great little shop for jewelry, bags, sunglasses and more. Their iPhone case selection was lacking for the newer models. The jewelry is costume jewelry and seems like you would get a few uses. My daughter picked up a backpack purse, some wireless headphones and a case for her phone. I grabbed some sunglasses and a new band for my Apple Watch. Decent prices. I love this place. Every time I go to Texas I come to this jewelry/purse warehouse. I have bought so many wonderful earrings, bracelets, purses, and other fun accessories. You can seriously spend over three hours in this place! They are located next to Stonebriar Mall if you couldn't find anything you were looking for, but trust me that wouldn't be a problem. Most of the jewelry is really cheap. I am telling $3.50 earrings that should be more like $20.00!!! I have TONS of stuff from here, and I get compliments all the time.
