Was last here in 2017, so it was time to buy some new pants. Men's department, here we were. There are no sales people in sight. Fortunately my wife and I had been to Dillard's where customer service was very available and helpful. Not so at Belk's. We learned a bit about trousers, so wife pulled a number of pair for me to try. I grumbled about clothes shopping, but it was contained in the changing room that I occupied. The room was thoroughly trashed. Rubbish spread over the floor and pins stuck everywhere on the walls. Ugh! We did find some pants and when we went to pay for them, there was no one in sight. Must have been with the sales reps who were also not visible. Finally we found a "station", paid and were gone. What has happened to Belk's? Belk at Southpark is definitely an experience. I hadn't been here in a while, and things have changed. They have everything from Michael kors, Calvin Klein, Lacoste, etc... for both men, women, juniors, and kids. 3 levels. Clothing, shoes, handbags, home goods, and the perfume cosmetics department. Went this weekend for their Belk Charity event, and they have a lot of good sales going on with multiple discounts definitely worth the price. All the employees were super helpful and efficient and never had a problem using any discounts. Will be back for sure whenever I am in the area. Located right beside maggianos. A parking deck right in front of the department store for easy access. Also, it looks like they added a bar in the entrance of the cosmetic department, and it's very swanky! Who would have thought! Ordering from Belk is now like ordering from Walmart- packages look like someone tossed it together, they don't look like a business package, aren't nicely in the shipping container - be it box, plastic packing bag etc; and never come by delivery date. And this isn't one off; but third time my packages have looked like this and arrived whenever. This time ordered 3 items, 2 came separately a few days apart- third still hasn't. And can't shop in store cuz there's never stock! Since they sold Belk has really gone downhill sadly. read more

I have never been to a Belk Department Store until today. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, variety of items on display, and the service I received today. Once I found the men's section, I found certain colored ties I needed for an upcoming event. An employee approached me, welcomed me to the section, and proceeded to help me get additional discounts by downloading the Belk phone app, allowing a savings of $41 instantly. I would have never known of an online coupon until she told me about this while I was about to purchase 2 ties. I appreciated the instant savings and her friendly banter during the transaction. Tonitta was super helpful, she checked the price on a shirt I was eyeing and made sure we felt welcomed from the start. Visited a very nice mall in South Park ... the mall had stores like Dillard's, Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus ... and of course Belk. Belk is a general merchandise department store, but with a lot of brand names ... Brooks Brothers, Polo Ralph Lauren, Katl Lagerfeld, etc. Store was laid out very neatly ... wide aisles, merchandise handsomely displayed. Very clean and appears well-managed. Only complaint was there were not enough store employees ... you are sort of on your own until checkout. Whole experience reminds me a bit of an upscale Macy's ... if that isn't an oxymoron. I came into the men's dept at the Southpark store today and had quite the experience. There was a delightful lady named (Ms.) Darla who really went out of her way to help me. I'm a recent amputee who has really had a hard time making the transition into my new handicapped status and was having a challenging day until I ran into Ms. Darla!!! Besides helping me with my purchase which I could barely afford, she treated me with the same kind of "grace and kindness" that I would receive from my mother or my grandmother. I didn't realize how badly I needed the care and concern of a complete stranger to turn my whole day around walked out of the mall. Not to kill the averages but look yall, I paid $6 for one sandal strap to be repaired on a COACH sandal. At the pick up, I brought in five (5) more pairs from slide wedges, kitten heels, regular pumps and tall wedges with strap and glue needs. I don't know which pair was $40 & the other $36 while one was $20 because you'll see the receipt doesn't itemize the shoe style yet the first day worn into the office where I sit for majority of the time and it looks like the strap that was reglued or sewn on isn't adequate enough. I'm taking them in for a review. I'd like to say I will do it today but expect to get it done next week. Southpark is just out my way. read more

Looking all over to adjust the strap of my Prada bag. All other places claimed they couldn't do it, concerned they will ruin it or don't have the machine for it. Came accross this place from the many raved reviews. Glad I did! Located on the 4th floor of Belk. Very friendly and professional, thoroughly upfront and measured everything before agreeing to take it in. I drove over 40 miles to the Belk at South Park because they did not put 3 items in my bag that were rung up on the previous Sat. Today is Tuesday and my first opportunity to drive back - during rush hour traffic. I left 3 VM messages with the "manager on duty" and never Recd a call back. Today we arrived at the store at 6:05pm and we were closed for HALLOWEEN! I asked for a Mgr but no one appeared. I then Asked if they were open all day on MLK day, answer was yes- all day! I asked if they were open on Presidents' Day and the answer was yes- all day! 4th of July ?- open all day.... But they closed early on HALLOWEEN??? Am I missing something? I didn't realize this was a "holiday" that warranted a store closing early!! And when you look up the store it says OPEN 10-8 pm OPEN NOW! I placed an order online with Belk. I received the merchandise, but unfortunately, it was too large and needed to be returned. There was no option to do an exchange for a smaller size. When I received my credit, $19.90 had been taken for shipping. I called customer service to explain what happened and was told I would have to pay shipping again if I wanted a smaller size. I do a lot of online shopping and have never had such poor customer service. Had high expectations of every purchase at Belk until now. I recently purchased a massage table as a gift on the Belk website. They only had one, and it was listed as a $313.00 (list price) table for $186.00. Trusting this was a GREAT value I ordered immediately. The table came Fedex is only a few days. I was happy until my wife showed me the same table on Amazon for $59.99. The table is a "Best" massage table. It sells for $139.99 on the Best Massage.com website. "Best" shows a Retail Price (MSP) (List price) of $189.00. My complaint with Belk is the fabrication of a $313.00 list price. The discount is fake. I complained to the customer service department. Belk replied by upholding their ability to name any price they seem fit. Looking at the Belk website now, and the price is $156.00. I went to customer service again and was issued a $30 credit. I still paid more than the competition for this item. The fact that they over valued the items list price is my complaint. If I saw this $189.00 item for $186.00 I would have continued shopping. The nicest belk location in Charlotte. They have name brands that I would never pay full price for. Everything will eventually be on sale. The best time to buy is when they have the red dot clearance sale which happens to be going on right now. I got a 300 dollar dooney and bourke bag for 118.00! The store is clean and everyone is always helpful. If they don't have what you are looking for they will order it for you from another store. I highly recommend this particular Belks location. If you sign up for their charge card you get an extra 20% off all of your purchases for the rest of that day. They even gave me another coupon for 20% off to come back and use on another day. Absolutely terrible customer service and inventory management and the saddest part is that they don't care. I have been a Belk customer for YEARS and have their credit card as well. We came to the Mens section because my husband needed a suit for a wedding. There were several options as well as decent prices due to them being on sale. We got offered help right away as well as a layout of the section. My husband tried on a few items and was overall pleased with his selection but he needed a different size. It's not just the super clean store and vast selection here...it's the brands in the women's section that really impress me. French Connection, Citizens of Humanity, Free People, BCBG, Splendid, 7 For All Mankind, etc. And shoes from Calvin Klein, Stuart Weitzman, Frye, Dolce Vita and Michael Kors. The best part? Da sales. As Demetria said, when they announce 50% off red dots that means it's time to get in your car and head to Belk at SouthPark. One more sticking point for Belk in general? They are pretty supportive of local causes. I've been to many a shopping event that highlights a local nonprofit. They carry more of the high-end brands in make-up, shoes & clothing. The best part from this most recent shopping trip was...*drum roll* - BOW TIES! :) My boyfriend has hit the mother load. Please do not take your expensive designer shoes there. I was foolish enough to bring my 7 pairs of shoes like Rene Caovilla and Gianvito Rossi and they actually made holes while placing tabs. Those tabs do have prongs, but they left visible holes around each prong. When I pointed it out, lady at the check-out suggested to "squeeze the tab" enough for it to close the hole. This is not a place for high end footwear - beware. They do a terrible amateur job. read more

I needed toe and heel taps for my Allen Edmonds. The Allen Edmonds' sales rep, in Southpark, recommended the place. I checked the reviews and saw that it was the only 5 star around the area. They installed heel and toe taps on two pairs of shoes in 15 minutes. It was only $14. They were pretty busy. They were courteous to me and everyone that came up while I was waiting. One young woman was picking up, and she was very happy with the final product. That's about all I can say. I was just stoked that they did it while I waited. Despite having to trek to the SouthPark Mall for this gem, I appreciate their customer service tremendously. I took a pair of boots in to be stretched in the calf and when I went to pick them up, they were still a little snug. They offered to keep them and stretch them out more for me for the same price of $20. I was so pleased and felt at ease that I'd indeed get to wear these boots! For anyone going here for the first time, its on the 4th floor to the left of the escalator near the swim wear and is labeled "shoe repair". If you want and easy in and out, I recommend parking on the top surface lot of Belk and going in that way. You will avoid the mall maddness for sure! read more

I receive coupons from Belk's on a regular basis. There are so many restrictions on what they can be used to purchase. I feel like it's a lure to get you in the store then only to be told "No, that coupon won't work on this purchase". I won't continue to shop there. I'm a person who takes her shoe collection VERY seriously and I don't hand it over to just anyone. But I will hand it over to the folks at Belk's shoe repair. The lady there does great work for a good price ($8-10 for heel repairs) and good turnaround (2-3 weekdays). What makes her so good? For one thing, if you take in shoes to be resoled, she'll tell you if you just need the heels fixed. And if you want something repaired and it can't be done, she'll tell you up front, as well. But the best thing is that, whenever I take shoes to her, they always seem to come back to me a little spiffier and a little shinier. Like I said, I care about my shoes. And I'm glad Belk does, too. read more
