Fairly bad customer service. Clothes are crammed in the racks so tight that you can't pull out an item. Shoe department is a mess. If you want to order something in a different from another store you must call all the other stores yourself. I called one and no one would answer in the Ladies shoe department. The store operator kept re-answering and ringing the department over and over (about 10 times). Why didn't she page someone? I gave up. If you are willing to serve yourself and root through clothes and clothes without anyone willing to help you, go for it. read more

I'm a person who takes her shoe collection VERY seriously and I don't hand it over to just anyone. But I will hand it over to the folks at Belk's shoe repair. The lady there does great work for a good price ($8-10 for heel repairs) and good turnaround (2-3 weekdays). What makes her so good? For one thing, if you take in shoes to be resoled, she'll tell you if you just need the heels fixed. And if you want something repaired and it can't be done, she'll tell you up front, as well. But the best thing is that, whenever I take shoes to her, they always seem to come back to me a little spiffier and a little shinier. Like I said, I care about my shoes. And I'm glad Belk does, too. read more

If you need an excellent shoe repair, this is your place! I was nervous about taking my shoes to any shoe repair but after reading the reviews, I decided this one may be the best. I was just going to get a heel tap replacement. I had my own tap and just needed the labor. When I dropped them off, the cobbler suggested a sole pad to make the shoes last longer and wear better. I was hesitant but a Nordstrom's shoe department worker was in line behind me and she said she highly suggests it to all her customers that purchase Louboutins. I got the shoes back and was very happy about the quality of the work. Even the sole repair made the shoes better to walk in (non-slip) and it doesn't detract from the style. ok... This is an awesome place. They are on the fourth floor of the Belks department store in the SouthPark mall. I dropped off a pair of cowboy boots to be re-healed. They just didn't add new rubber to the heal, they removed and rebuilt the stack, replaced the rubber heal. Then they repaired some minor damage on the upper heal of the boot. And I got them back in the same week! All this was done for a VERY fair price. ( I wonder if they allow tipping. ) I liked the job they did on my brown boots so much I dropped my black pair of boots for a little more extensive repair. Thanks guys! read more

Read great reviews about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. I have a beloved pair of tall flat black boots that I haven't been able to part with or replace (believe me, I've tried). I decided to take these in to see what magic could be worked on these since I've been embarrassed to wear them. They were faded, heel sole uneven, and the stitching was starting to come undone near the zipper. I dropped them off and it only was going to take 4 days for them to be repaired. I got them back today and they looked like new! Obviously there's still some wear lines in the leather but they had resoled, dyed, and restitched the zipper and for a little over $20. Definitely worth a try for anyone looking for minor or major repairs. read more

Best shoe repair in Charlotte! I have taken shoes elsewhere before (a couple places Uptown close to work, etc. and the quality just does not compare). I brought in my favorite pair of Tory Burch wedges that I had worn the heal completely down on and they look brand new again. I also brought in an Ugg that had a huge tear right by the toe, and they stitched a thin line over the tear and it looks great considering how it looked before! Did not take long and prices are great. I dropped them off Tuesday night and they were ready by Friday afternoon. read more

This is without a doubt the best show repair place in town. I just picked up 5 pairs of shoes that needed some TLC. From Cole Haan, to Allen Edmonds, to Ferragamo...they make them look great, which cuts down on the cost of buying new ones :) I needed a new insole, a new heals, a new bottom, some glue along the edge and all shined. I was expecting well over $100, but it was only $90. Best part about the experience, is that they examine the shoe and let you know if something needs to be done that you didn't think of AS WELL as what you think needs to be done that can wait. Fair perspective in my mind. Head up to the top floor of Belk next to customer service. What looks like a small little place, it much, much more! Only place I take shoes. read more

Worst customer service ever. Ordered a 400 dollar purse which was shipped by FedEx. Tracking shows it was delivered to WV. I live in LA. Called and gave delivery info to customer service, who tells me I have to wait 3-10 days while they try and find it, won't reship or take off my credit card. Yep, this is a solid stop. While I didn't pay attention to the hours of operation the first time I tried to drop off some heels, I made sure to get it right the next time. They are not open on Sundays even though Belk is. Quick, convenient, and my shoes are back to almost brand new! To replace the heel plug it'll run you $10 per pair. They have a nice selection of other shoe "accessories," like the little sticky things to put in the back of your shoes so your heels don't slip out. Side note, they also make duplicate keys...or at least I assume so since there were colorful keys on the counter. With the whole economy on the fritz, there have been news stories about more people going to repair their shoes instead of buying new ones. It was a good reminder that regardless of finances, it's good to renew and keep reusing my shoes. I'm glad that Yelpers reviewed this place to give me the idea to add more life to my well loved shoes and where to do so! read more

BFB {Black Friday at Belk} Well I must say Belk did a terrific job on their boot sales, customer service, and stock ability during their Pre-Black Friday and Black Friday event. I would have given them 5 stars because everything that myself and my family circled in the aid paper was available for us. And if it wasn't a employee was MORE than willing to go on the hunt for it and found it. REGARDLESS of the 100s of people that were in the store. And when I say it was A LOT of people and slinging shoe boxes lol. Not only did we purchase boots and had excellent service. We also purchased undergarments and the experience with our consultant was superior! She was the absolute best and so very funny and real! Each cashier that we experienced during our shopping day was so pleasant. Even the one who shared some unfortunate details about Belk's holiday hours for their employees which resulted in my 4stars for this review. Belk's you all HAVE to do better by your employees especially now that you all require them to work on a holiday. Coming in by 3:30p on thanksgiving day takes them away from they're families and leaves them unthankful in the one day we share our thankfulness. It was shared with myself and my family that not only do you all NOT provide your employees with double time or over time as the are working on a National Holiday. But they are working 10 hour days for your sales number to reach black for Black Friday. For a company that was founded in North Carolina, in a country that celebrates great National Holidays. The least you could do for your employees now that you have them working in this day is pay Holiday pay, Time in a Half, or Double Time seeing as though you're working them around the clock. Coming in at 3:30p leaving at 12a then coming back that morning for actual Black Friday is asinine!! I would have given this 3stars, but one good thing you have done by your employees it teaching them proper customer service and striving for excellence. I can't say that about other stores in South Park mall. However you do not practice what you preach where it matters most to the employees as they're taken from their families in a Holiday. When several years ago you all would be closed the entire day of thanksgiving. I'm sure the late William Belk would not be pleased with the way you all treat your store employees verses your corporate employees. Who I'm SURE has much greater options on National Holidays with paid holidays. read more

This place is located inside of the Belk store, on the 4th floor in the area labeled customer service. In desperate need of repair, I took in my fav brown boots, which needed a new heel and to be resoled. I was hesitant, but I turned over my boots figuring they couldn't come back any worse than the condition then what they already were. I took my ticket and counted the days until I could return to pick them up. Boy o boy was I ecstatic when she opened the bag and I saw my boots, looking brand new but still worn in in all the right places! Maybe I just got lucky but they did seem to polish up the leather so I was really happy about that! I have such a hard time finding shoes that fit right so I have a serious love for the ones that make it into my closet and get worn to the point they need repair so I'm so happy to have a place to take them so I don't have to start the battle of finding a new pair again. read more

As a non-Southerner, or as as non-Charlotter, the Belk name doesn't really mean a lot to me. Or used to. Now it does, and with good reason. I love this department store--it has everything a male my age could ever want. I'm not a huge shopper, but I actually don't mind going to the mall when it means a trip here is in store. For high-end gear, this place is great: great selection of Diesel jeans, Lacoste, those sort of brands. Check out their Vineyard Vines display too; it's pretty awesome. Lots of shoes options, as well as sportier stuff. Like I said, they offer everything you want. It's got that heavy department store feel, obviously, but it's not the worst thing ever. A little overwhelming given the store's size and number of employees, but you can figure it out pretty quickly. read more

I'm torn on 3.5 or 4 stars -- they are more expensive than what I paid for in San Diego and they don't polish your shoes upon return. Total bummer. I guess I was just spoiled in San Diego. I had brought in 7 pair of shoes, came on the designated day to pick up and only three were ready -- so you know they are super busy - I was okay with returning, because I actually dropped off another two pair. Holy flag ship batman! This flag ship location has everything, and I always find what I'm looking for when I go in. This Belk is like no other in the area and has all the top brands. Including MAC, Bobby Brown, Marc Jacobs, French Connection, Free People, Polo, Michael Kors and the list goes on! They also have a really nice men's big and tell collection. This Belk has 4 floors... Bedding and wedding registry on 1 Make up, jewelry, hand bags, and men's on 2 Women's and shoes on 3 Kids and infants on 4 There are two entrances that take you back into the mall, so it's pretty easy to get turned around when leaving. I really like Belk! Classy Southern store which has very nice products. Regular prices are steep for sure, but wait for those sales to come by. There are actually some really good deals to be had IF you can take advantage of their sales. I just bought a new Formal Dinnerware set that was made in Germany (Paul does NOT do made in China crap for Kitchen anyway...) and the quality was excellent as was the functionality (I bought a square plate set). The store worker (Madeline) was SUPER friendly and helpful and helped me decide based upon MY critiera....in fact she almost tried to steer me towards a lower priced option......but I still opted for the better quality Made in Germany plates and am very happy I did so! They only had 2 of the 6 I ordered in stock, but they shipped the remaining 4 to me at NO COST and I got them in like 2 more days. So what's not to like about Belk? Oh and they do serve wine at Arthur's, the excellent little wine store on the bottom floor....just drink a couple of glasses of wine and see the prices drop instantly! :-) read more

On a Thursday evening is a great time to come here, "Preview" the weekend sale. On this paricular day I went in to buy a Convection/Toaster oven I saw was on sale for $79.99 in the paper. The gentleman sales person was really helpful and knew his ovens, I ended up with the $99.00 oven that has a full 3 year guarantee from Belk's not just Cuisinart. On the way out we scoped a Buy one get two sale on IZOD shirts and the sales people in that department were very helpful as well. My Prince has 3 new shirts in handsome colors I adore and he is happy to have saved $72! read more

Definitely a hidden gem! This shoe repair counter is tucked away on the top floor of Belk in the Womens section. They are winners of a BOB (best of the Best) Award and they are truly deserving of that. I take my heels in for repair when the taps of my heel wear down. I am for some reason hard on my taps, I usually wear them down to the metal stud. Instead of buying new shoes I get the taps replaced and they are like brand new shoes. This repair store is very fast, turn around time is usually a day or 2. I dropped off 3 pair of heels for repair and they were ready in 2 days. The price is fair, I paid $11 for each shoe which I don't mind paying because not all do they replace the heel but they always smooth out or fix the material of the heel. I had a suede pair of heels and the suede material separated due to the tap wearing down and they did their magic to connect the suede back together to make the shoes look brand new. They also do purse repairs. I discovered this place years ago when a Coach purse I had was not able to be replaced or repaired by the Coach store in the mall. They recommended I take my purse to this shop and they were able to repair my leather strap on my purse. read more

Try to avoid shock from shopping overload when you enter! I mean, I was blown away at the sheer amount of products this place had! It's like a virtual pocket universe, right in the mall! Belks has so many different products, it's hard to make it out to the mall. The brands range from no-name to high-class, all at reasonable prices. The store's organization is spot-on, making navigation thru the behemoth rather intuitive, and there are several ways to get to both parking and the mall. As it is one of the bigger anchors at the SouthPark Mall, I use it as my parking reference, and the garages near Belks generally seem not as crowded as other mall portals. But remember; bring a GPS and 2-days worth of water and rations....Just in case! read more

Don't even bother trying the phone number for this store - you'll never get anyone to pick up, and if you do then they won't be interested in helping in the slightest. Could not get even a single person to answer the phone even though I called and waited for 10 minutes while it rang and then tried a few other related departments. One time I got a voicemail box but of course no calls back. This probably explains why the phones ring incessantly in the store - what a horrible sound and it's definitely always going on there. The salespeople have probably all tuned it out so they just never answer. If they aren't going to have someone manning the phone they should not advertise a phone number at all. read more

With the help of Belk Shoe Repair, my shoes continue to look amazing and stay in good condition. Located on the top floor of Belk, tucked away behind the bathing suites, this shoe repair shop can be a little heard to find. Once you get to the desk, the staff is incredibly friendly. They know exactly what they are talking about and are happy to give you recommendations. If you don't want to spend a lot, just tell them and they will give you a recommendation on you're next-best option for repairs. They aren't pushy at ALL, so you won't walk out of there feeling like you just got talked into something you didn't want. Now I must tell you, Belk Shoe Repair isn't cheap. The price they charge for various repairs is completely appropriate for the good quality work. Bonus: they are on the Belk transaction system and take American Express. Obviously there has been a change in ownership or management and things are on a downward slope here. We used to enjoy shopping here. Their slogan of southern style does not extend to their customer service in 2016. Zero stars for apathy of management. I left a voicemail message for the department manager to call me back regarding my purchase and experience in the store. After I didn't hear back from her a few days later, I left a voicemail message for the Store manager. I explained that I had already left a message with the department manager and had not heard back. It has now been over a month and I have not heard from either woman or any other store representative. If management doesn't care about responding to customers and valuing their business, their employees certainly will not either. Plenty of other retail fish in the sea to check out. I have been a big Belk's shopper for years due to their fantastic interest free credit card program, reward dollars and sales. So in speaking to a friend over a year ago, she suggested I visit their flagship store - which happens to be this location. Several floors and many hours later- I was hooked! What appears to be a rival to many other fine department stores, Belk's offers many name brands and options priced low to very high. The shoe department is large but can appear understaffed and very messy at times. An impressive handbag department and jewelry department. Great ladies department and teenager department. Nothing to complain about except perhaps more registers, and of course bathrooms. read more

I had a few questions regarding some merchandise that I bought, So I asked to be connected to that Lilly Pulitzer Department whoever was running that department needs major help she just kept picking up the phone and not even saying hello I would just put it on the counter and I could hear her helping other people but never came back to the phone I keep calling for about 45 minutes in for 45 minutes she would just pick up the phone and leave it on the counter so whoever was calling could not call again she is horrible it's an older lady she has horrible customer skills read more

Love, love, love this department store! I always have a day of adventure in the shoe department. When I'm really looking for something elegant and/or special this is the location I choose. I've found they have a larger inventory of designer shoes than some other locations so I always have choices. I'm vey selective on the quality of apparel that I wear and I've never been disappointed in the clothing that I've purchased here. The last thing I love is the alterations department! Worst customer service. Went to Belk, Southpark location at the women's department for winter coats on Nov 6th, 2019. It was not busy. I saw employees standing in a group chatting. I asked for help in finding my size for a coat. The employee told to go look for it among the coats. I walked out and went to Dillards and bought a beautiful winter coat and some clothes. Customer service at Dillards took such good care of me. read more

I came into this store and I said to myself wth is a Belk? there's no such thing as Belk on the West Coast. For one I think it's better than Macys and Nordstroms. They actually have sales that are worth it. I got a $200 jacket for $65 bucks. you would of thought it as Black Friday in the middle of February.
