Great store, lots of good makeup by nars, Laura Mercier, and I got my FAVORITE Deorderants with the botanical fresh scents like frankinscence, sage, lavender. These are awesome cuz I travel a lot and like to feel refreshed. I won't return to this location cuz beggars and bums stand at the beginning of their entrance ramp asking for money. When I told their security guard- he gave ME THE NUMBER to call parking lot security to report it. He should tell them to get lost or move away or the TJ maxx manager should call. I'm a customer there to spend money --not to work free-- doing security. The gas stations in this area are 40 cents higher. I won't return to this neighborhood read more

This T.J. Maxx is in the same plaza as Home Depot and Firehouse Subs with plenty of parking. During my visit to Charlotte, my husband and I, along with our little girl dog, ended up coming to this plaza to return something to Home Depot (yes both Home Depot & T.J. Maxx are dog friendly stores). Afterwards, I decided that I just wanted to pop into T.J. Maxx just to browse (which is dangerous for the wallet by the way because you never know what you may end up walking out with). Well we headed over to the luggage area, which is on the left hand side when you first walk into the store. I saw the cutest Hello Kitty (hard shell) carry on luggage and knew I had to get it (lol). This Hello Kitty looked rather sporty and the bonus with this luggage was that it came with a small duffle bag, 3 piece packing cube set and a Hello Kitty head luggage ID tag. The original price was marked as $100 (which seems to be the going price if you look on Amazon, that hard shell carry one Hello Kitty luggage is about $100) but was on clearance for $59 (prior to tax). So I ended up purchasing this cute set (lucky for me that I was flying home on Southwest where you are allowed 2 check in bags for free, so I didn't have to pay extra to bring this back with me). The employee who rang me up was friendly. She smiled when she saw our little girl dog and also complemented me on the Hello Kitty luggage find too. But with T.J. Maxx and similar stores, you may not always find those hidden gems on the first visit, but over several visits. But I think that is what makes shopping at T.J. Maxx (and similar stores) all the more fun. If I lived in this area, I would most definitely be a regular. read more

It's a TJ Maxx and that says a lot. They have a large selection of a variety of items ... especially makeup stuff for the ladies. For general merchandise, it can sometimes be hit or miss ... just depends on what the buyers are stocking and how inventory levels are. But the TJ Maxx in Charlotte was a very nice experience. The clothing spans a nice selection of name brands. Clean store and, even though you sometimes have to work your way through racks and racks of clothing, on balance the store is not cluttered to the ceiling. Overall prices are very nice here, as at most TJ Maxx stores. We'll return to this TJ the next time we are in Charlotte. read more

The most rude employees to answer the phone. Called to ask about the sales promotion that all stores were promoting and she literally picked up the phone saying don't ask about a Tik tok sale that was fake. I asked for a manager and she said she was which if she was I feel bad for that store. Horrible horrible customer service. read more

When I passed by a couple of Burlington stores during my stay in Charlotte, TJ Maxx was next door to them. I thought that it was an interesting, strategic move. Both stores offer off-price apparel and merchandise. TJ Maxx is our Winners equivalent to Canadians, as the former owns the latter up here. Needless to say, I love shopping at TJ Maxx. I had basically satisfied my shopping needs while in Charlotte, but was curious to see what bargains I could find at TJ Maxx. I stopped by this store. The store is huge. I ended up getting a six-pack of dress socks for my boyfriend. He is getting into subtle sock patterns these days (he dresses conservatively) and these patterns included thin stripes. He was thrilled to get them. I bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones. They were only $10. I can see why. They didn't hold a charge after I had charged them for hours. I was disappointed. It's a good store, otherwise. I wasn't looking for anything particular, but I was pleased with one of my two purchases. (146) read more

My previous experiences with TJ Maxx's (Maxxi?) has been that they're overpriced and cluttered. This one isn't. I have an app on my phone that scans the bar codes and does an Internet lookup to let you know who else sells that item and their price. Out of nearly 20 or so that I scanned, not one was more expensive at TJ Maxx. Impressed! Clothing for men and women, shoes, luggage, accessories, lingerie, undies and a large section of housewares. Most of it very neatly organized and clearly priced. Paying for the merchandise can take a bit - I watched the line when we came in and when we paid and there were always people waiting. the greeters were really nice and friendly. When I was in looking at shoes I moved a pair of shoes to the ground to try on and was still shopping in the same section but walked a few feet away. The employee stocking shoes snapped at me as if I needed to pick it up that second. It was strange behavior. Maybe she was having a bad day but still completely unacceptable and made me way too uncomfortable to continue shopping and left without buying the shoes that I wanted. This is the first bad review I've written and will definitely never be back due to this employee. read more

So this is where you go when you buy tooooo much on vacation and you need more luggage so you don't pay overweight fees. I picked up a really nice bright red Delsey carry on with cool wheels that move all kinds of different ways. This was a really bright store and very neat. It also was right next to the Burlington store which I stayed away from. I did not want to buy more luggage. read more

Not too shabby! A typical T.J. Maxx but this one had a few surprises... 1. It's clean and well organized. Seriously! Departments include women's clothing, juniors clothing, men's clothing, women's shoes, handbags/luggage and homewares. 2. The cooking supplies within the homewares section is especially good here. Looking for a stainless collander? How about a Le Creuset baking dish? Or a garlic press? Or a coffee machine? How about a kitschy cutting board? You may have to dig a bit, but there are definitely some gems here. 3. No men's shoe section. Just something to note... 4. A large sportswear section - especially for the menz. Tons o' Panther gear & Carolina goodies. Some much more appealing than others. A decent T.J. Maxx with a better than average cooking section. Next time I'm in need of an affordably priced omelet pan or a set of wooden spoons, this is a pretty sweet option! read more

I don't give this place enough credit. I do tend to walk away with something in my hand! And today, I found a gem amongst the pile of knickknacks in the clearance section. I know that book cover and color and design anywhere! It was Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking, in hardcover. Winning! Location - easy to get to off Woodlawn and South. Lots of parking space, can be entered in from Woodlawn or South Rd. Inside the store - it appears a bit messy. And that would ruin my mood to shop... But not if there are cool things to buy in the homes/food area. I could pretty much spend 1-2 hours scrounging thru the pile of items to see what I want. read more

Its been a long time since I was last in a TJ MAXX store. They have an eclectic mix of apparel and housewares. The part that I've always liked is the sweets section. Tonight I bought a couple of white chocolate bars from Godiva for $2.00 apiece. I hope to be spending more time there looking for bargains. I love the spices and weird ingredients aisles the have in the back, the coffees near the registers and the electronic and other trinkets your find in the men's department. This TJ Maxx was recently renovated about 2 years ago, so everything is actually very well organized and clean for a discounted department store. The dressing rooms are brand new! When it comes to buying clothes, I prefer Marshall's over TJ Maxx. However, they do have a good selection of home goods here. They also have a pretty good jewelry section here which is NOT available at Marshalls, so this is a plus. When I say jewelry I mean sterling silver and chain necklaces and charms and pendants, not just fashion jewelry. They also have a good selection of purses here and beauty and hair products. Overall no complaint about this store! I have been frequenting this store for the past 5 years. If you need something for your home but do not want to pay the high price tag to get quality brand name items, check this place out before you hit up more expensive options! read more

Oh TJ Maxx, how I love you so. You always give me deals on so many things. It's next to impossible to walk out your doors without a bag in hand. Home goodies, clothes goodies, and the cha-CHING amazing finds hiding in your racks and shelves. Side note: my last cha-CHING was a Special Blend snowboarding jacket for $30 when the same style online everywhere wasn't less than $140! TJ Maxx is one of my favorite places to shop, especially when I am alone! Shoes are a hit or miss. Some days I find a great selection, in accordance with my preferences, and at other times, there are none. Finding clothing to my taste requires a more searching and oftentimes, I don't have time or energy to do it. Otherwise, I love TJ Maxx and I am a happy camper when I have a good day shopping. Went in to return a $5 item a few days after purchase (after my total bill was $160) because it was not in the box (a phone glass protector). They would not refund me the $5 saying they couldn't accept an empty box and basically accusing me of stealing the item. What a terrible feeling and poor customer service. I stopped by the TJ Maxx on South B last night looking for 8 matching placemats for Thanksgiving. I had been to a number of other stores and when I found the placemats I didn't see 8 that matched! Andrew, an employee of the store, asked if I needed help. He came back to me with 8 matching red metallic placemats after directing me to two other locations in the store that just might have more on display! Then when I checked out Tawanda was so polite. She was all "Yes Mam!", "May I help you?", "Did you find everything you need?" I had found some gloves that were not priced and Kristal, another associate assisted me getting those priced in a timely manner! It was just a really positive service experience at a place I normally wouldn't think of for that! Either TJ Maxx has trained these employees really well, or their hiring practices are giving them very good results! Congrats on getting quality people to help your customers TJ Maxx! Had a bunch of things in my cart, went to check out the women took one of my workout pants and said it was priced wrong. She said she would be right back. When she came back with a different pair that was priced higher, she said she it was priced wrong. Please do not sleep on this TJ Maxx! I absolutely love the quality items that they get in. For one, in the spring and summer they have an awesome collection of Coach and Michael Kors sandals. Killer handbags but u have to do a little digging. A lot of times people will find a bag and try to hide it up under a clutter if other bags and even behind the scarves but seek and yee shall find (Amen). Great selection of home goods; Ralph Lauren towels/plates/beddings, Calvin Klein sheets, etc. And believe it or not a pretty nice selection of extra virgin olive oil. The price is about $7.99 - $12.99 but it beats paying $25 and over. I'm just saying that if you want the most bang for ur buck then check out this TJ Maxx. read more

I have shopped at TJ Maxx for the past ten years. I don't spend a lot of money there but when I want something for a change in seasons I think of this store first. Their clothes aren't the best but they are great when you need something for a few months or for the children when they are going back to school. I have always liked their cosmetic counter until recently. I like the large bars of beauty soap for the bath. I thought that the bars were bought from high-end stores who wanted to sell the left-over stock. This seemed to be correct because the soap bars were of good quality, with scents that lasted the entire life of the bar. They gave the average person an opportunity to experience what a wealthy person would experience everyday. Of late, this has not been the case. The beauty bars turn colors, they smell bad after a few uses or lose the scent altogether and they dry the skin. I suspect that TJ Maxx has farmed out their contract to someone cheap to make a profit. TJ Maxx does not have a strong return policy and definitely not of the beauty bars. So you buy at your own risk. I have found that when I get a bar that is less than satisfactory I use it to clean the shower and bathtub. It helps to offset the cost of the sale. read more

Today I went to TJ Maxx to return a comforter set that I bought because I took it out of the bag and it was way too big and fluffy and I didn't like how it looked on my bed. So then I put it back in the bag and it's been sitting in my trunk for a while so I finally made it over there to return it and they said they could not except it because it had lint and hair on it. Of course it's going to get lint and/or hair on it because I took it out of the bag! Not to mention it already had lint on it when I bought it and was already marked down lower than the original price so maybe it was already a return. So I guess based on this policy if anyone buys a comforter set from TJ Maxx or perhaps Marshall's, if they have the same policy, can't return it if it gets any lint or hair on it. So if you get home and you don't like it then you're screwed. My family and I have been shopping at TJ Maxx, this location in particular, for more than 20 years and I'm completely appalled. I don't recommend anyone to buy a comforter set from TJ Maxx. read more
