My friend tells me they have a turkey sausage option for those who don't eat pork sausage. Our waitress was very friendly, kept our waters filled and checked in on us often. All our food was well prepared and there were plenty of left overs. My mocha cold brew was full of flavor and not too sweet with lots of that coffee flavor shining through. So glad I ordered that with the optional whipped cream on top! Thanks to our friends information we received a military discount on our order. We won't see our friends for a while and we sat at the table talking. After paying our tab the waitress let us know we could stay to visit and offered to refill our waters if wanted. Very sweet. They never looked at me all because in my opinion, I was wearing my gay pride shirt cause I just came back from the gay Pride swimming pool party at Tuxon. I walked inside the restaurant, grab my seat and started looking at the menu and the waiter just kept walking by never asked me anything. Next thing you know I know another person walks in that person sits down the waiter gives them their silverware ask what they wanna order. Ask what they want to drink and he gets his food and I still haven't mince asked what I wanted to eat. At this point the cook who is not his job to wait on people said hey are you gonna wait on this guy? He's been here way before this guy they still didn't do anything so the cook out of the generosity of his heart asked me what I wanted to eat what I wanted to drink. He's the one that took my order. He's the one that got my drink, cooked my food and served me. Again, I have never felt so discriminated against embarrassed like people were looking at me so I just got my food. Ate it and paid my bill and left. I don't know about you guys, but this is my first time being discriminated against and it didn't feel very good so be careful when you go to that to that waffle house if you ever go if you're in a discriminate if you're in a class that you can be discriminated against. I did file a complaint with Waffle House on their corporate website and they forwarded my information onto the on-site owner of the business and I have yet hurt anything cause I just sent it as of yesterday. I think as a gay community that I live in we have a very strong gay community community in Gen. I think we should boycott that place and pretty much show them that they can't be discriminated against. That's all I really have to say I just wanted to get it out there and let them know that I was discriminated against and I'm not gonna tolerate it not in this day and age. Brian Craig Benenhaley

(well once in taste, but I'll get to that) They have great in-house made items. Like the Challa bread, the preserves, their pesto. They most certainly know what they're doing. I had unseasoned filet mignon once, I believe it was the omelette. I talked to the manager. Now I wasnt upset, didn't send it back, I just told them what I experienced and mused that I found it odd the cook forgot a simple thing like salt. The manager acknowledged my complaint and that was all; or at least I was fine. Nope, she came back with a to-go box of croissants topped with cream and berries as an apology. They were tremendous by the way. She didn't have to do that. The ambiance is it's only weak point, but even that is minor. Simple black is fine. It's modern feeling and doesn't stand out loudly. They have outdoor seating, which early in the morning is fine, but id avoid in the summer, which will likely mean you'll be waiting, depending on the time. Oh! I forgot to mention, they have very good drinks. They really are intentional about the blend of flavors, they have a little something for everyone. All in all, I cannot recommend this place enough. It's been a shining star amongst Tucson restaurants and I am grateful they exist. Even to how they organize their menu partly by flavor profiles shows they genuinely LOVE food. I love food too, and I love here. Try this place. Today.

These Pastries Should Probably Be Illegal…read more Prep & Pastry has been serving Tucson since 2014, and after eating here, I completely understand why they've built such a loyal following. This review is only about the pastries because the rest of their menu deserves an entirely separate review. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly light and airy everything was. Every bite felt fresh, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. The frosting wasn't overly sweet, and nothing tasted heavy or overwhelming. As I've gotten older, I've become much more conscious about what I eat. Surprisingly, these pastries never leave me with that "I shouldn't have done that" feeling. They're indulgent without being excessive. Now let's address the real issue... I always buy two. Not because I'm planning ahead. Because I know exactly what's going to happen if I don't. I'll eat one in the parking lot, sit there for a minute pretending I'm satisfied, then make what is almost certainly an illegal U-turn and head back inside for another. At this point, I believe the owners should stand trial in a savory Food Court of Law. Dun... Dun... "In the Criminal Food Justice System, pastry-based crimes are considered especially delicious. In Tucson, the dedicated foodies who investigate these sugary felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Pastry Unit. These are their stories." Prep & Pastry is guilty of making "I'll just have one" the biggest lie you'll tell yourself all week. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or simply because life is better with a great pastry, this place delivers. WIT Inspection Score: -- Truly Among the Best.
