They've been coming to TMC once a week over the summer. He always has a line! I love the snoball option where you can put a scoop of vanilla iced cream smack in the middle of the snoball! I've tried a couple of the flavors, but always go back to the black cherry! It's a cool and refreshing treat for the summer. You can get small, medium, or large, bring cash to save .50! Sonoran Snoballs are located in the purple and rope light trailer located across from Safeway at Broadway and Campbell after dark in the summer. I discovered them during college and just fell in love! I would walk down every night and grab one. When my then fiancé visited Tucson for the first time we stopped by as we headed into town from the airport. Sonoran Snoballs are reminiscent of hawaiian shave ice, are reasonably priced and truly delicious. All the flavors are good but I love wedding cake and blackberry! To give you an idea of the level of my dedication, I had the Sonoran Snoballs trailer set up for the cocktail hour of my wedding!! read more

This is not shaved ice; it is a New Orleans style Snow Ball. Trust me there is a difference and you have to try it to understand. Tigers Blood and Tidal Wave are my favorite flavors, but there are so many I have yet to try. Don't forget to ask for cream on top! It sounds weird, but it completes this Cajun dessert perfectly! This snoballs truck comes to TMC frequently and I flock to it every time! The owner is always so friendly. The snoballs are always cold and refreshing, my favorite flavor is the black cherry. Prices are also reasonable, except you'll save yourself 0.50 cents if you can pay with cash, so bring $3, $4 or $5 for a small, medium or large snoball. Its worth every penny! read more

Such a great treat for these hot Arizona days!!! The owner is from NOLA soooo needless to say his snowballs are super legit!! I recommend getting your snowball loaded (vanilla ice cream at the bottom) and getting condensed milk as a topping! I wish I wasn't just visiting, I'd eat a snowball everyday!! read more

Came to this joint and was met by a friendly Louisianan in a clean little trailer on the corner of Broadway and Campbell. The good: The owner is a super nice guy and greeted us warmly. The snoball itself has a very good texture and it is done right, I love the shave ice consistency. The OK: I got passion fruit and kiwi flavoring and honestly it could have been cherry. It was super sugary (which I love) but I was disappointed that I couldn't really taste either of the flavors. I'd come back here again to try some more flavors (perhaps without mixing them). It's not like any frozen treat you'll find in Tucson.. It's simply AMAZING! They have every flavor imaginable, you won't regret trying this place. We've been twice now, but last time I had two different snowballs because I just had to try the coconut and then the black cherry. ASK FOR CREAM ON TOP!! Also, Tiger's Blood is a delicious flavor. John and Stacy are the super cool owners/operators and they'll let you try a bit of any flavor, just ask! They're only out until the end of September, closed on Mondays and UofA game days, and they open around sundown. read more

As a New Orleans native, I could not have been happier to find a REAL snoball stand in Tucson. In New Orleans- the word "Snoball" is a household name and there is a stand on every street corner! Sonoran Snoballs has literally every flavor you could imagine- from Mango, to butter pecan, to bubble gum. If you ask nicely, you can even sample a few flavors to help you decide- (you have got to try the strawberry cheesecake and the green apple!) Like all New Orleans Snoball stands, Sonoran Snoballs is a truly cool place! The funky red and blue trailer shows love to the ARIZONA WILDCATS and the owners, John and Stacey complete the experience!
