If you have to kill time in the airport, this is about the best spot to do it that isn't some kind of limited-access lounge. Technically, I'd give this a 4.5/5 for the elevated airport prices, but you're sort of a captive audience and I have to give credit to AUS for at least including local brands, even when they some are tweaked a little bit to be included. (I'm looking at you, 24 Diner's less-anchovy-y airport caesars.)
There's not really anything to change about beer, thank goodness. This stand has Austin Beerworks' beer, which is some damn good beer. I wish ABW had a distribution deal in the northeast so I could continue drinking it at my new house. Service at the Beerdrop is usually friendly and just the right amount of attentive--friendly if you're bored, hands-off if you've got a laptop out. One bartender on a slow day even checked on my order at the other food hall counter for me, which was rad.
There's a full bar with non-beer options, too, although I've only ever been there for the beer. It can get a little loud and crowded if the wider food hall's busy, but unless you're hitting at peak food o'clock, it's pretty laid-back in there. read more
