The lobster mac and cheese was very yummy. I would say the dill took over a lot of the other flavors, so that's what you were tasting the most. Maybe not the best option if you aren't a fan of dill. The regular mac and cheese was delicious. We got the smallest size and it was a perfect amount for a snack or side. The lines are very long. We went when it opened to avoid lines and waited maybe ten minutes for food. There's some standing room next to a counter where you can watch cheese being made from behind a glass wall. However, it got pretty crowded inside, so plan on taking your food to go.
So happy I finally got to try the infamous Mac and Cheese at Beecher's! The line may seem intimidating but it moves quickly. The small portion was perfect for me, since the Mac and Cheese is sooo rich and creamy. I see why this is a Seattle staple! I hope I can try their sandwiches next time.
Beecher's is a popular spot at Pike Place Market in Seattle. I came during a weekend noon and the line was long. I recommend coming early morning or near evening to avoid waiting. I got their small world's best Mac and Cheese. It wasn't the cheapest, but the quality was there. It's best for sharing because the flavor can get repetitive and overwhelming. I personally thought the cheese sauce was too funky, so it wasn't my cup of tea. It also comes in a paper container that's very hot to the touch. Visitors can see their cheese making process through large glass windows inside and outside the building.
This review is based on one bite of food. It was a very good bite though. I got into town and went to Pike's Market and went to Beecher's first thing. My hubby had tried it back when it was brand new back in the day and well, we have been eating that stuff ever since. MIL used to order it for us and then it became available in the stores later. I was super excited for my tuna melt and my kid the kimchi grilled cheese. After ordering and waiting for the food after a very long day of travel, we went in the market to get a drink and we asked a lady working where a good place to sit was. She told us to go onto-the back patio. So we did. And all tables were completely full. So we sat on a cement barrier/step, up against the building. I unwrapped the sandwich extremely excited to eat it! I took one bite (the sandwich was in front of my mouth....and then I was attacked! I didn't even see it but all the sudden i see a big white blob in my face and I find my arm holding the sandwich pulled to the side. Before I know it I'm fighting with a seagull, a rather huge one at that, who swooped in, buzzed my kids hairline (according to her) got in my face and grabbed onto my sandwich. I was prepared to fight this bird but then I realized he was touching it, it was no longer edible, so I let go and watched my $14 sandwich be eaten by this asshole seagull. I never was so stunned and sad at the same time. That bird even had the gull after stealing it to voraciously eat MY sandwich in front of me. And then all these people were starring at me saying "did you see what that bird did to that lady?" My kiddo ate her sandwich, enjoyed it and proceeded to laugh at what happened. I was really embarrassed and pissed. After coming all this way, I felt tricked out of my sandwich by a bird and wanted to cry. So yes, my review is based on one bite. Damn bird. The moral of this story is when you have yummy Beecher sandwich or any food don't eat on that cement slab or the patio swarming with pigeons because they are frigging bold. You may be a victim of your sandwich being stolen and your kid laughing about it for days. Not to mention PTSD anytime a seagull makes a noise you the rest of the trip! I'm so sad not to have had a Beecher's sandwich.
I heard a lot about Beecher's from social media, so I had to stop by when visiting pike place. I came by on a Thursday afternoon and the line was long, but it went by fast. There's a bar counter inside where you can stand and eat, but other than that there's no seating. We got a small cup of the original Mac and cheese and the salmon Mac and cheese. Both were very good, and I think we preferred the original. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pike Place.
Literally my favorite Mac n Cheese ever. Inside is so much fun to stand and watch the people making the cheese while you eat. Not a ton of seating inside but there is standing room with tables. Service is always good, quick and happy to help. I wouldn't get the grilled cheese again personally, but I would eat that mac n cheese everyday if i could.

Beecher's is an absolute iconic stop when visiting Pike Place. We stopped in to try the world-famous mac and cheese. Holy cow! That stuff did not disappoint. There is nowhere to sit at Beecher's, but you can jump in line to order a great grilled cheese, mac and cheese, or an assortment of other cheesey products. I did not realize how good mac and cheese could be. It's a bit different here. Penne pasta is drenched in a creamy and savory cheese sauce, almost soup-like. It's amazingly delicious. I really liked the vibes here. Just clean, simple, scrumptious cheese products. You can watch them making the cheese while you eat or sit out on the curb and enjoy the vibes of the market. Either way, Beecher's Handmade Cheese is a must-visit when at the Pike Place Market. Enjoy!
WOWZER how much cheese can this place produce?!?! LOTS! Mac and cheese is a must here but they do have other things for you to enjoy - cheese, meals, bread. There was a line but it goes pretty fast for the Mac and cheese order. After we ordered our 2 types of Mac and cheese, we realized after we paid that they have cheeses you can try and buy. There's meals in the fridge you can buy as well with other knickknacks The original Mac and cheese is still my favorite. The salmon one was a good one as well. We tried both out right in front of the window where they are churning the cheese. It was a huge room to produce their cheese. The cheese is not overpowering and subtle. Easy to consume.

We ordered the small Mariachi Mac & Cheese and the grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was outstanding--the bread was toasted to perfection with a crispy, golden crust, while the cheese inside was gooey, rich, lightly salted, and absolutely delicious. The Mariachi Mac & Cheese was equally impressive. It was creamy, flavorful and had a wonderful smoky spice that elevated the dish without overpowering it. Every bite was comforting and packed with flavor. If you're visiting Pike Place Market, Beecher's is a must-try. Freshly made cheese, delicious comfort food, and the opportunity to watch the cheesemaking process make it a memorable Seattle food experience.
Loved tomatoes flagship soup! Grilled cheese with tomatoes soup! You can't go wrong! We enjoyed watching cheese factory and quick breakfast. FYI: This place can be long wait lines.
Grabbed an 8 oz mac and cheese. It's simple, but done really well. The cheese is rich and sharp with a deep flavor, and the pasta is cooked just right so it stays creamy without turning mushy. It has that slightly baked finish on top that adds a nice texture. Portion was perfect for a quick bite, but it's filling for what it is. You can also see them making cheese in the shop, which adds to the whole experience. The place gets busy, but the line moves fast and the staff keeps things organized. Everything came out hot and fresh. Definitely one of those must try spots when you're at Pike Place.
First timers here! This place was recommended by several of my friends who have frequented Seattle. If you're an avid cheese enthusiast like myself, then don't skip this place! You can literally see the staff working diligently and efficiently to make the wonderful fresh goodness! Fortunately we came at the perfect timing. Kudos to the front staff for making the line go by smoothly! Their menu is simple and straight forward, which I like! They also have merch and free samples of their flagship cheese that day...so good! Don't remember if I saw seating inside, but you can enjoy your yummies with the view of the water nearby. It's no wonder why this place is a local and visitor favorite! I can still taste the deliciousness of Smoked Salmon Mac & Cheese...everything in it just works!! Located in front of Pikes Market, it gets a lot of traffic. You can see the employees make cheese throughout the day. It's pretty neat to watch as you walk by as well as from the inside of the store. They have several cheeses for sale as well as to go boxes out. Employees are welcoming. The Mac & Cheese was given right after ordering. An 8oz small is $8.99. It comes warm. I felt it was a bit sharp and gritty for my liking. Others who ordered gave it a 2-3 out of 5. The grilled cheese was $9.99. The bread was perfectly crunchy and buttery. A fun spot for cheese and delicious mac & cheese in Pike Place. They have large glass windows so you can see the cheese curds being made. There are also some countertops so that you can eat while you watch the cheese making process. They sell the cheese curds in containers that you can take home, but my favorite thing to order is the mac & cheese. It's a little bit sharp, very creamy, and the pasta is cooked well/not mushy. This is one of those places that lives up to the hype! Wasn't expecting too much from Mac and cheese but their special flavor was so tasty not to pass up. It was a salmon Mac and cheese with, dill, a little lemon and more. I loved the zestyness and the pieces of salmon with every bite of the creamy pasta. This Mac and cheese is more on the saucier creamy side but still delicious. So glad I went for it and tried this out because I would gladly order this again as a snacks. The small size was perfect, and not too filling if you wanted to try more items around the area. Inside the staff was super helpful, gave out free samples and helped me quite easily. It's a cool location to check out that's clean, and pretty spacious. Also interesting to see the big containers they use to make the cheese! Check it out for a quick grab and go food stop. read more
No need to recommend this famous place. We usually come here to get our Mac and cheese. It is a fun place to take out of town visitors. The line was not too long considering it was a Sunday morning. It doesn't really have any seating. But it has some counter space facing the cheese workshop area so you can enjoy your food and watch the cheese making operation. read more

Food: 8oz Mac n Cheese Price: $8.99 Overall: Came for the one thing and only one thing: the Mac N Cheese. The workers there were very nice and customer service was on-point. Upon eating the Mac N Cheese; there is not really a "wow" factor with this but I have to admit that the cheese sauce caught me off-guard as I would think that it would be much heavy but it was quite the opposite. The sauce was also liquidy as opposed to it being thick. If this is something you like, definitely give it a try! read more

Beecher's was hands down the best foodie spot that I tried during my weekend stay in Seattle! My best friend from college recommended this spot, and I'm so glad that she did. I came on a Sunday morning before my flight home, and I was so impressed with this Pike Place gem. Beecher's is located on the corner of Pike Place, and they have a warm and welcoming vibe. There was no line on Sunday morning, and staff were very helpful in assisting us. We ordered the smoked salmon Mac and cheese to share and my partner ordered a tuna melt. Besides hot and ready foods, Beecher's offers so much more. They also have a fridge of frozen meals and fresh cheese curds, which would make a great gift. The coolest part is that you can see them preparing the curds next door, and it doesn't get fresher than that. You can truly taste the difference, and I'll be dreaming of the smoked salmon Mac until my next trip! read more
This was a place I made a big priority to enjoy while I was out in Seattle this year. Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE my mac and cheese! I am a lifelong lover of the dish! :) We happened by here shortly after opening on a Wednesday morning and were pleasantly greeted with NO LINE! Sweet! We decided to try the 16 ounce "World's Best Mac and Cheese", which was $13.99 plus tax and tip. Just to get straight to the point: the mac was incredible! So creamy and full of flavor! I'm talking eyes-rolling-to-the-back-of-your-head-organically-while-eating-it. lol You know. :) THAT good! There is no dedicated space to sit down and eat here, so it's a takeout situation. Lucky for us, our hotel was a 5-minute walk away. The space did look very nice and clean, for what it's worth. After the price with tip and tax, it was almost $18 for a 16-ounce cup of mac and cheese. Understanding the touristy area I am in, that still felt a bit high. Luckily, it was insanely good and I'm so glad I got to enjoy their luscious mac and cheese! lol 4 solid stars! read more

The first stop on our tour around eating in Pike's Place! We went when they opened at 9 am, ordered our item and got our mac and cheese immediately. There isn't any seating inside but some tables on the side where you can eat while watching their cheese maker machines at work. World's Best Mac and Cheese, 8 oz - I always get this one because it is truly a classic. It was piping hot, so comforting for a cold day, and the cheese melted perfectly over the noodles. The cheese itself was so rich with a slight sweetness and nuttiness. Even with the 8 oz, it was pretty filling because of the creaminess and richness of the dish. Highly recommend trying it when you're in Pike's Place and I am looking forward to trying some of their sandwiches or soups next time too. read more
This place is my tried and true go to. I've been going here for years and now that I don't live in state, I make sure to stop by whenever I'm in town. Even if the line is long, it moves quickly. Staff are always kind and some great deals on some unbelievable cheese. Go to tried and true is always the classic Mac and cheese. Me & my friend got their "world famous" mac & cheese. It was ok, nothing special. I normally like my mac & cheese very cheesy & creamy. The mac & cheese was a little starchy & gritty. It's a little pricey for 8 oz, but it was enough for the two of us to share. I wished I tried their grilled cheese, but will try it next time I'm in Seattle. read more

Okay honestly, i've been here a couple times and the first time is definitely the best. I think for first-timers, you have to try the grilled cheese or mac and cheese. For us, the grilled cheese is just too crunchy (hurts to eat ) almost feels stale because it's soooo toasted. The mac and cheese is good, but just really watery. Overall I can't lie i'd probably be back again just because this spot is so popular, but idk. read more

This place was pretty cool! They didn't have a seated area but there is a standing bar along the window where you can watch the whey and curds separate. I ordered a small Mac and cheese. The line went fast and the cashier was pleasant. It's a super cheesy, thick and creamy sauce with a little cayenne in it. read more
This famed handmade cheese spot is fabulous. It seems everywhere you go, they serve Beecher's cheese, even on Alaska Airlines. You get to see the machines in action here! Just look through all the windows. Flagship Grilled Cheese - crispy bread, gooey cheese, tart tomato yumminess, definitely yummy Famous Mac & cheese - I didn't order it, but it was super popular with everyone around me ordering it, they weren't able to provide samples :( Service was excellent! They want you to try all the different flavors and offer many samples. The flagship cheese is yummy! It's located at Pike Place Market near Starbucks. Definitely recommended! read more

The best Mac & Cheese I have tried so far! It's fresh, cheesy, creamy, and salty in the right amount! I loved it. I recommend trying their mac & cheese, soup, and sandwiches, and others in this location. The reason I said that is because the one in Seattle airport, wasn't as good compared in the original location. You cannot miss this if you are visiting Seattle! If I wasn't too full I would have tried their sandwich but I guess that's something I could get next time I'm back. The original Mac and cheese was so rich and creamy. I love the cheese sauce! If your a cheese head, you can't miss this. I had to make time to stop into Beechers while visiting Seattle. Love that they have cheese/products for purchase, which of course I did $. A little on the steep side for the size vs price point. But u figured, I'm supporting a local business and putting $ back into the economy of Seattle, so a good cause right? Plus the have a small food menu. The Mac is 100% worth getting even if your not so much into cheese, but just want to try it out. My friends and I split a small cup, and we all enjoyed it, even with various personal tastes. I also tried the grilled cheese on my own. Which in my opinion was just ok, I prefer a stronger char on my grilled cheese, and way more ratio of cheese to bread - but this is personal taste, you may find it delicious. Want to see how the magic happens? Pear behind the glass and watch the cheese mongers machines do there thing. It's an easy, fun stop in Pike Place. read more

This store basically down the block from the hotel known for the best Mac and cheese in the USA. We jumped into I gathered a line waiting for the store to open while we watched the men and machines churning the milk and whey in one vat and the other with the cheese curds. . They opened and we went to order the Mac & cheese to split between my family ( good but not the ultimate best), and a Britzel cheesy like pretzel. Hot and delicious. read more
It's been over a year since I last visited Beecher's and I was excited to eat some of my favorite mac & cheese again. Visiting on a remarkably sunny autumn morning, I was surprised seeing that there was no line whatsoever in front of this Pike Place mainstay. I was able to immediately place my order. The first thing I noted was that the price had gone up by almost 10% since my previous visit. I thought inflation had calmed down a bit, but I guess not enough for Beecher's? Still, if the quality was still good, I could stomach the price increase. Less than a minute later, I started digging into what I thought would be a delicious treat. "World's Best" Mac & Cheese, 16 Oz ($13.99) - For this dish, the sauce remains creamy and decadent with a bit of a crystallized cheese graininess and a great savory cheesy bite. The sauce coats the penne well and is abundant enough that a thick layer of cheese still remains at the bottom of the cup after finishing the pasta. Unfortunately, the pasta is very disappointing. It's so overcooked that it's almost on the verge of falling apart and becoming mush. As the worker spooned the mac & cheese into the soup container, I could see the spoon slicing through the pasta like butter. Mac & cheese is a pretty simple dish and to mess half of it up = no bueno. (2/5) I've visited Pike Place several additional times since this visit and have noted little to no lines at Beecher's, a marked difference from the 20+ minute wait I had in 2023. I wonder what happened here? As with my remarks in my previous review, the frozen version is better. If you live near a Costco, even not in Washington, you can usually find Beecher's once or twice a year. Stick with that one. The only reason to visit this store is if this is the first time visiting Pike Place and you need to go to one of the touristy stores. I certainly won't be visiting again. read more
Our friend highly recommended this place, and we tried the large "World's Best Mac and Cheese". There was a line, but the queue moved quickly, so we got our order pretty fast. We were watching the cheese curd agitator while enjoying our mac and cheese, and it was kind of fun. The mac and cheese was a bit too salty for me, even though it's creamy, and the macaroni pasta was cooked to the right texture. Also, the 16-oz cup was $14, which felt a little pricy. read more

We were told not to miss this during our Seattle visit. I'm glad we didn't. The line was long but moved quickly. Their signature Jack cheese is delicious--very flavorful. We had the Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, and tuna melt. All were very good and worth the wait. read more
mini line when i came sunday 3pm. always hot and ready! u order and they scoop right away for u. abt five min wait as they toast the breads/pretzels. $6 bretzel was a pretzel w crispy cheese and garlic i believe?? pretty solid, filling, salty seasoned! $9-$10 for a 8oz small mac. warm, gooey, on the liquid side but creamy which i like bc then u can keep eating it without it overwhelming u after a couple bites. the penne absorbed good amount of sauce. a little plain and could use salt/pepper, wish i got the smoke salmon flavor. on par with some microwaved, fridge pre packaged mac i've had. wouldn't get again flavor wise. overhyped. If you live cheese as much as I do, this place is a must visit. It was cool to see the cheese being made. The place was super busy non-stop on a Friday mid afternoon but we the line was quick to order. Our sandwiches took a bit of a wait to be made but worth the wait. Busy and hectic bustling ambiance but it's part of the experience I guess. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic. Wish there was seating or more table top to eat. We had to walk around Pike Market to find a place to open up our order to enjoy it. The cheese wasn't quite as melty by the time we got to eat but still was delicious. I had the Flagship and cheese and basil together was amazing. I didn't taste the spread as I think it was forgotten :( I was too hungry I didn't realize til later and I forgot to snap photos of our food. The line wasn't too bad when we visited, and our 8oz small mac and cheese was handed to us quickly. Sandwiches take a little longer to prepare, so while waiting, we also ordered a breadzel. It was just enough to share and still leave room to try other foods in the market. Service was friendly and efficient. They called our name when the breadzel was ready, and it was worth the wait--nice, warm, with a fluffy whole wheat texture. Yum! The mac and cheese hit the spot, especially in the cold weather. Definitely a yes for a visit! Great comfort food and a cozy vibe make it a must-try in the market. read more

I have celiac disease so I wasn't able to have the Mac and cheese (although they do sell some frozen that you can take home), but their tomato bisque was absolutely DELICIOUS! It was a perfect little snack while enjoying walking through Pike Place. 4 stars because I do wish they had their gluten free Mac and Cheese as a ready to serve option. read more

It's definitely one of the biggest tourist magnets in the area. While it's a cool spot to see, my actual dining experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The Food: * "World's Best" Mac & Cheese: Honestly? It was just okay. It's creamy and uses high-quality cheese, but it didn't quite live up to the massive hype for me. It's a solid, "normal" mac and cheese, but nothing life-changing. * Breadtzel: I was pretty disappointed with this. The bread was very dry and lacked that fresh, chewy texture you expect from a good pretzel/bread hybrid. * Price: Be prepared to pay a premium. The prices feel quite high for what is essentially "counter-service" snack food. The Experience: The coolest part about this place is the glass-walled kitchen. You can stand there and watch the entire cheese-making process from the sidewalk, which is genuinely interesting and great for photos. Verdict: In my opinion, Beecher's is a bit more of a "gimmick" than a must-eat destination. My advice? Watch the cheese-making through the window from the outside--that's free! I decided to come try this place e because I heard it was a fun experience to watch them making the cheese and try their fresh cheese. The people taking orders were super friendly and fast. There were no tables or seating but they did have a bar that looked into their cheese processing area. We ordered the plain Mac & Cheese, a grilled cheese, and a turkey grilled cheese. The Mac & cheese was good but not spectacular. As for the grilled cheeses, they left us disappointed. There was not enough cheese to bread ration and they took forever to come out. I walk past Beecher's all the time and finally went. It was a Tuesday around noon, so the line wasn't too long, with maybe a dozen people waiting for food. I ordered the pretzel warmed and a small mac and cheese. The pretzel with cheese was good, not amazing. But the mac and cheese was quite good! Very cheesy, and definitely worth it. I'll be back to try one of their sandwiches, as those also looked delicious. read more
