I cannot recommend Bee Free highly enough!!! Dan and the Bee Team went completely above and beyond for us. My senior citizen in-laws had some bees hanging around their second story eves for a few days, but we didn't see a hive or nest so didn't think much of it. Then, at 3pm on the day before Easter Sunday - all hell broke loose. Thousands upon thousands of bees were swarming the house and a huge blanket formed on one of the columns by the front porch. I called 6-7 names off of the County Bee Keepers list, and Dan was the ONLY one to return my call - he did so in less than 10 minutes. I explained the situation and he calmly asked very specific questions before informing us that it sounded like we had scouting bees for a few days who eventually brought the queen with them to a new prospective hive location and the rest of the swarm followed. Monday morning he came for an inspection and confirmed his suspicions. He was incredibly patient and understanding with my senior citizen mother-in-law and father-in-law when explaining what needed to be done, and promised not to exceed a set price point. We scheduled the bee removal for Thursday. There was only one job before us, but the bee tech ran into more honeycomb than was expected, so it took him all day. Rather than push the removal to the following day, Dan went above and beyond by personally coming over at 5pm and beginning the work himself - staying until 8:30pm!! He told us that there were at least 20,000 bees inside which was double the size of an average swarm. The following morning, the Bee Team completed the live removal, and repaired everything so well that you cant tell anything ever happened! Considering that I called late on a Saturday on a Holiday weekend, the fact that Dan and the Bee Team completely resolved our problem in under a week and the repair is under a 2 year warranty - the pricing was incredibly reasonable! I had bees living inside a stucco wall. Dan came quickly, cut a large rectangle out of the stucco and carefully removed thousands of bees and lots of honeycomb. He worked very hard and stayed so patient. I'm very happy that he saved the queen bee and that he moved the whole group of bees to a farm. His two man crew "the bee team" came after him and replaced the stucco and finished it so that it looks like nothing happened there. I highly recommend Bee Free. On Monday a week ago, I came home to find 50+ bees buzzing around my living room. They were all coming out of a built-in cabinet and were getting in through a small gap in the gutter on the roof. I panicked and called pest control and made an appointment for a minimum cost of $400. Luckily before I spent any money on pest control that was simply going to tell me to reach out to a beekeeper, I found out that honeybees are protected in CA (e.g., no pest control firm can spray / do anything to them), canceled the pest control appointment and began calling every beekeeper in the area. No one could figure out what was going on; no one could find the bees. Yet they were clearly there, coming out of the walls. The universal suggestion was to start hacking into the walls to find the hive, and the quotes were in the thousands of dollars. With a newborn at home, I considered abandoning the house until the situation was resolved... When Dan came over, he immediately knew what was going on. He told me these were scouting bees, and a hive had not moved in yet; if they had, there would be thousands swarming outside the house, not just a few dozen. He set a lure and said he would come back later to get it if I saw bees buzzing around it. He sprayed some pine sol on the gap in the gutter where the bees were coming in and left. The next day, I found a bunch of bees buzzing around the lure. Dan came to pick it up a few days later and thus ended our bee saga....for now. No one had to move out and our newborn was never stung. Even though Dan doesn't seem to do house calls without at least charging $350, his expertise is worth it. I think he was the most knowledgeable beekeeper / expert I spoke to and he saved me potentially thousands of dollars and a destroyed wall in my living room and having to move my baby out of the house. Because I was getting some honey bees inside my house around the fireplace, I contact Dan at Bee Free to inquire about it. The next day he sent out Rodrigo to inspect the chimney and found a very serious honey bee problem in the chimney of my two story house. To get to the problem and remove the bees, Rodrigo had to take about eight feet of bricks off the top side of my chimney. This required him to cautiously work high up on the tile roof for a day and a half to perform this very difficult task. Rodrigo really did an excellent job and removed about 60 lbs. of honey cone that had formed in the chimney along with thousands of thousands of bees. I am writing on behalf of my mother who contacted Bee Free for removal of a yellow jacket hive in our attic. The team at Bee Free, both Dan and Carlos, are incredibly helpful and professional. Within a day of contacting Bee Free, owner Dan quickly surveyed the situation and within a couple days, the massive hive was removed safely. We have had no signs of yellow jackets since removal of the hive a couple months ago. With recent rains, we had a leak in an area near where the hive was removed and weren't sure if the leak was related to the removal. We called Dan to check and he promptly sent Carlos to come take a look. Carlos came same day and was very knowledgable and helpful. Carlos explained the cause of the leak and how it was in a different area than the hive removal. He could have easily said we should call a roofer, but instead he offered a solution and thankfully had the tools and supplies on-hand to help then and there. Two hours later, the leak was fixed and has been water-tight since. While we hope to avoid any future run-ins with bees however if we find ourselves in this situation, we will certainly call Bee Free. read more

I actually love bee's, and have spent the last year and a half building a garden to attract those little cuties. All was great until I noticed a bunch of them swarming outside my front door in a hole on the wall that used to house a porch light. I knew this was probably not the best thing, so I began contacting Beekeepers. I started with a woman who I bought honey from. She referred me to a county list of beekeepers by area. I contacted a couple of them and while super super friendly and helpful, they didn't have the equipment to help. One of them gave me some advice and suggestions, but said she was going to refer me to Dan in the event our first plan failed. Not 10 min later, Dan called me to discuss my situation. He was super up front about what was likely happening, and what the costs would be. He worked with me and my small budget to try something simple before we broke into the wall. But then----- the day before he was to come, the bees vanished. He was in constant communication with me while we decided how to move forward. In the end, I didn't need his removal services, but at the same time, I received his services because he talked me through the entire ordeal. He even checked back in with me to be sure they hadn't returned, and gave me advice on how to prevent them from coming back. I spoke to Dan at Bee Free as we had a party in 2 days and had an obvious bee problem. He recommended a detailed process to get rid of them, which I thought seemed like a good idea, but asked if he could just come and spray the bees and he could do the more extensive service later. He said spraying them like I wanted could create all kinds of problems, but he could do the more complete job THE NEXT DAY! So, we decided to do that. Upon exposing all of the honeycomb inside my roof, they removed 11,000 bees and enough honeycomb to fill 3 Home Depot sized 5 gallon buckets. We had them come out to remove a honey bee hive in the wall of our building. A warranty was purchased to ensure they complete the job even if it takes multiple visits. Took forever for them to schedule and actually come out, but they finally came out and removed some of the hive, but not all. After weeks of trying to get them to come back out to remove the rest of the hive they finally came back out and just sealed the exterior wall. This led to thousands, yes I actually mean thousands, of bees coming into the upstairs kitchen through a hole under the sink interior wall. When we told them they tried to fight us saying just let them die, well weeks went by and they still fought us until we finally got them to come out. Again scheduling was a pain and we had to take multiple days off work for them to be no shows. Dan finally came back out, but instead of removing the remaining hive he just sealed the interior wall hole. I could have done that myself. Now the bees are just finding other ways in and out of the walls to get to their hive. You still need to come finish the job and remove the rest of the hive before one of us ends up in the hospital! read more
