I LOVE Bed Bath & Beyond. I'm sad their closing so many stores across the USA. We all need to get off our bums and get back into the shops rather than checking out on our sofa! Great store, staff was very friendly. I came for exactly what i needed and a bit more. he he read more

This is not a Bed Bath and Beyond. It's the Container Store where you can pick up goods purchased from BBB. However, you can not return anything purchased from BBB. I purchased a coffee table which wasn't made well. Went through the return process and BBB basically wanted to charge more than half the cost of the table to return. What a joke! So unless you are 100% sure you want what you order and assume that nothing is wrong with the product in terms of quality - you're stuck with it. No wonder why BBB went bankrupt in 2023. Horrible business practices. read more

What a joke for a Bed Bath & Beyond presence in San Francisco. The tiny little store that is the container store has one little corner in the tiny little store devoted to some Bed Bath & Beyond bath products and a couple of other things. Long gone are the days where you could go into the two-story giant Bed Bath & Beyond at ninth Street and spend hours looking around to buy what you need at home. What a joke do not recommend. Bbb do better. read more

Buyer beware! I purchased a dining set on Sept 1st and received it on September 8th. I haven't yet opened the boxes. On September 13th & 15th I emailed help@beyond.com because it was now on sale for $182.88 less than I paid. Today, September 16th I went on Live Chat (because I received no response from the emails). I asked for the sale price and was told THEY HAVE A 7 DAY PRICE MATCH POLICY. I've never heard of such a thing. It's 30 days at any retailers I've dealt with. So, I will be returning the very heavy boxes today to the store and repurchasing them for $182.88 less. Very inconvenient and unfair in my opinion. I will not buy from them again. read more

I ordered a burnt orange colored chair and ottoman set. When I open the box it was black not burnt orange. I called customer service and they told me that Bert Orange was out of stock so they decided to send black. I requested an immediate refund because I wanted to buy another chair somewhere else. They told me that I could not get an immediate refund that everything would have to be shipped back and they would have to receive it before I could get a refund. This chair came in three boxes, only two boxes were here another one was supposed to arrive in a day or two. That meant that I had to wait for UPS to pick all three up, which would delay my refund. I spoke to somebody at a higher level and they told me there was nothing that could be done. I will never ever order anything from Bed Bath & Beyond again.. The stupidity of sending a different color chair and putting me through this whole rigmarole is insane. read more

If i could give no stars i would...horrible, horrible customer service. Tried calling their customer support phone number...hung up on three times. Couldn't get in touch with a live agent. had to go through the "chat"...the person couldn't help me. Just kept citing policy, policy, policy..like she was reading from a script. They don't care about the customer, just getting the sale. read more

In late May, we purchased a patio umbrella from BB&B. By mid-July, the button supporting the open umbrella broke off. When I called Customer Service in August asking for a replacement, they initially told me to contact the manufacturer, which I refused to do and demanded they handle this issue. They said they would provide a replacement and asked for photos of the damage, which I sent the same day. In following up, I was told there would be no replacement and nothing further would be done. I am extremely disappointed in their total lack of customer service and refusal to stand behind the products they sell. As a loyal customer of BB&B for decades until their store closures, I am shocked at this attitude toward their customers and their products. I strongly recommend avoiding shopping at this store at all costs. read more

4 stars mostly for convenience - there's a parking lot and a Trader Joe's. Shopping experience depends on what you're looking for. The kitchen stuff is useful, plenty of OXO & name brand appliances. Don't be fooled by the 20% off coupons. Do your research first. For example: a vintage inspired Vornado mini fan at BB and Beyond is $59.99, or $47.99 with 20% off coupon. The very same fan in the very same size & colors is $39.99 regular price almost anywhere else, like Target, Cliffs Variety, Amazon....etc read more

Horrible telephone customer service and app experience. The app has various upsell options that they sneak into your check out process which you unknowingly purchase and then they won't offer a refund. Also BBB missed my Christmas delivery and didn't deliver my $800 table until after the holiday. They offered me a whopping $6 credit. Disgusting practices all around, they should have stayed out of business. read more

SO happy that this location is open again for in-store shopping! Staff is always friendly, available, and helpful. Not only are the cashiers patient in processing all of your coupons, they also go out of their way to make sure you're getting all the savings that are available to you. Another thing I appreciate is that the cashiers don't get annoyed with my payment method. My daughter's school uses a passive fundraising tool called BenefitMobile, which is similar to eScrip. Essentially, once I know my total, I purchase an in-app "gift card" on my cell phone, then present a bar code for the cashier to scan for payment, with a percentage of my purchase going back to the school. BenefitMobile doesn't seem to be a very widely-used app so cashiers usually fumble with it and have to call a manager for assistance, but here they never show annoyance or impatience and I really appreciate that. read more

1. When checking out, the cashier asked for my phone number and email address. I was under the impression she was looking up the 20% coupon sent to my account. I provided the info, and the screen on the payment device asked me to accept or decline a rewards program. It was strange, since I was already receiving free coupons via text to my number. I scolled through the very long terms on the screen, and at the bottom it said that I would be incurring an annual fee if I accepted. Either the cashier or system, was trying to charge me $29 for an annual subscription without even asking me. If I had not actually scrolled through the terms, I would have probably accepted thinking it was just for marketing emails. BBBY is being extremely dishonest here. 2. I came to pick up an order I had placed online for pickup. The item was switched for a cheaper, similar item (the item was a tier down from what I had actually purchased and was smaller). I brought this up to the attention of the person service rep, and they apologized and cancelled the purchase saying the other item was probably out of stock. I don't know how many controls had to happen for an incorrect item to be picked up by the item grabber, and the system to not realize the item the cashier scanned was not the item I actually purchased. read more

First time coming to this store in San Francisco great service, I bought the stuff that you see on TV and wasn't worth it Jennifer said come back try the Gotham the food Cooks way better doesn't make your food taste rubbery like the red copper, and they will give me 20% off and three $5 coupons off the items but that that was really nice. It was so easy peasy that's what I like about great service in and out and they want to make their customers happy. One more thing they have a upstairs and they have an elevator to go up to the second floor. Thanks for reading my Review. ~Lizzie~ read more

Friends come here to buy amenities which I find so odd as I'd rather go somewhere cheaper. But this location is convenient with easy private parking so I can see the appeal. They are located next to Trader Joes. I think there's only one entry with a security guard in front. Nice guy too. Cashiers are in front. This location has two floors with an elevator. Our gripe was the check out. We were in line with a few others and waited forever with no movement in the line. Two customers were trying to get a price adjustment with their current coupons on a past purchase which , hey, I get it. BUT, do that in customer service and not the cashier line. We said something to cashier asking what's happening and she said yeah, this transaction is going to take awhile. You should have said that a long time ago to the rest of us in line so we could move to another line more quickly. Otherwise, location seems alright. read more

This place is a two-story wonderland. Full of all the "needs" and wants for all your different parts of your home. See why they are closing. I asked a Caucasian rep with glasses where are the hair dyes. He told me all gone. I walk over and find there were 10 boxes of hair dyes left even after the liquidation sale. No wonder this retail is bankrupt-who wants to pay high prices with crap service??? You can go to Walgreens and get better service. Not too long ago I said have a nice day to a clerk and he did not acknowledge me. Racism here??? When a retailer charges such high prices customers expect respectful and courteous customer service. I'm not surprised this corporation filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Their stock is worth 30 cents when it was $17 a share not long ago. Crap service turns off customers and the spinning wheel goes around and around, less revenue for them. Guess they don't get it, obviously. Some one else said this too on a group chat. She said their stuff is Shit, designer bags made to seem high quality when it's Shit quality. read more

OK, I recently had the worst customer service with a dolt who couldn't order 2 pillow shams after 40 minutes of struggling with the computer system and then running around for a manager like she was a chicken with her head cut off. Trust me, I was patient however it went beyond the pale- and she still screwed up my order, placing an order for just 1 pillow case and then entering it again to order the 2nd one (who orders 1 pillow case to start with?) I waited 3 weeks for the 2nd pillow sham to arrive only to find out she cancelled the 2nd one because she used the same order number twice. I was steamed; I called the manager to find out why it was MIA. So why am I giving them 4 stars? The manager resolved the stupid mess and when I went back the next week to buy new towels, a shower curtain and a bunch of extraneous stuff I don't need but now & forever I do, the staff was back to their usual and amazing proactive service. Like I wrote before, BBB's salespeople truly are the hardest working retail salespeople in the business. As I hoped, the one pain-in-the-ass incident I encountered was a fluke. So I'm happy again with Bed, Bath and I love love love the vast selection of stuff in their huge, new make-up/personal care department that puts Walgreen's to shame. New fav is Camus' goat's milk soap. Yummy yum yum. My skin feels like silk. So dumpster dive in your apartment's recycling bin and grab those 20% off coupons and head over to BBB. It's the best way to blow some money, feel good about it and have something to show for it the next day/month/year. read more

Follow the rainbow, thanks Stephanie. I had a blast, my mom and I used to come here all the time! Now coming here alone was a different experience I found everything a single male living alone in in San Francisco could ever want. Everything is convenient but the prices for things like Rubbish bins, and garbage disposals were outrageous. What for? They're made in China, it's not an upward pricing scheme, it's always been a downward pricing influence when made abroad in countries like the Communist Republic of China. Regardless, I will be a repeat customer. There is just no way I am paying $40 for a garbage disposal that is just 1/6th in height of my six one experience read more

I spent over an hour walking around in circles at this place! Why? Christmas shopping lol! I just couldn't decide on what to buy. It was the evening of December 23rd and I was actually feeling tired which didn't help. I was ballin' on a budget so I needed to find cheap, thoughtful gifts. Fortunately, they weren't busy and I didn't have to contend with a crowd. One of the employees was helpful and guided me upstairs to locate a better selection of gift items. For a minute I felt like I was being watched as opposed to assisted...but maybe that was just in my head. You need a code/key to use the restroom. I didn't feel like walking all the way back to the front to ask so I just waited for the person inside the bathroom to come out and then I slipped in behind him ha! (Inconvenience absolved by customer ingenuity) I wound up buying a few items but I wasn't really satisfied or excited with my purchase. Hence, I walked over to Nordstrom Rack to see what they had to offer. So, I'm not sure if I'd consider this a bonafide review. It's more like a memoir lol Parking was easy, if that helps. Oh, and they have tons of dope items that I can't currently afford but really want...like the robotic vacuum smh ‍ Happy 2019! read more

Why retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond are dying: Inefficiencies and people working who just don't care. Had to drop by the retail location because a dining plate set purchased online had a crack in one of the 2 decorative plates. Return was easy and simple and cashier was friendly. She said she would get one of the staff to get a replacement is we could wait. She called several staff to locate the item as I saw 3 staff members standing next to a computer and conversing. The male manager came by but he basically just did nothing as he should have just gone and got the item himself. 10 minutes late she calls again on the intercom for the item and the young lady who was suppose to get the item said the computer wasn't working and it was not upstairs but maybe downstairs. They don't have a downstairs. I looked at the lady and she was doing "price matching" for a guy who got about 20 small personal care items like shampoos and so forth. This is why BBB was on the path of bankruptcy lacking a CEO as sales cratered with their failure to compete online and their massive retail inefficiencies. At this point, my lady and I went upstairs ourselves and found the item in less than 5 minutes and it was on sale at 50% less then the online price. This first hand experience explained fully why Amazon and Walmart are destroying their retail competition both by price and efficiency. The writing is on the wall. This chain will surely die off post Covid as retail plummet and competition picks off the weak. read more

"Damn, where have I been?" I didn't know that this Bed, Bath and Beyond location also sells pharmaceuticals and Health and Beauty needs (not that my "Mighty Joe Young" looks really matter)! Shaving needs, body soap, moisturizers, body lotions, foot care and insoles, manicure and pedicure, 5-hour energy drinks, dental care, planned parenthood needs, medicines, pain and fever relief. This particular Bed Bath and Beyond is definitely what's up. Parking is easy due to their accessible parking lot, and their staff truly go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. In the recent re-decorating of my room, I've been on a quest for wooden blinds. I went online and discovered that Bed Bath and Beyond had what I was looking for. I called up this location and the girl helping me - ran around the store in an attempt to make sure that they definitely had what I wanted in stock. After purchasing them - and attempting to put them up - I discovered that one of the blinds didn't have the correct hardware with it. I had to get a Zipcar just to pick up the initial wooden blinds purchase, so I was reluctant to have to book another one just to return them. I called up their customer service and explained the situation. The guy helping me was extremely helpful and said that if we asked for him once we got to the store he'd sort it all out for us. And that's just what he did. Him and his staff rectified the situation with ease and with professionalism. If you need to pick up some home stuff - look no further than this location. They truly do have it all and their staff are excellent. Trust. read more

Everyone pretty much knows what BB&B offers as far as items-for-sale, so I'm not really reviewing that, so much as: The WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBILITY here mostly sucks. They often place sales display islands right in front of the elevator, making it hard to get in and out of the elevator. And they often have so much crap in the aisles, that it's hard to get down either side...definitely NOT meeting ADA requirements! Another major issue in this store is how heavily scented certain areas are. Some departments or main aisles have such a pungent stench of artificial fragrance that my eyes sting and my chest gets tight! It's unnecessary and really off-putting. One reason I'm glad there's a Bed, Bath, & Beyond in this part of the city is because it's a useful place to get certain items that you want to see in person before purchasing, such as small appliances and air purifiers, a serving platter, or items for holidays. Speaking of which, perhaps my favorite thing about this store is that they always carry THE BEST and usually the largest variety of items for Jewish holidays that can be found in San Francisco retail stores. This may not seem like a big deal to non-Jews who aren't aware of how little Judaica is available in this area, but for those of us to whom this tidbit of information is relevant, it's a really nice thing! Overall, I'll continue to shop here when the occasion calls for it...but there is definitely room for improvement! read more

I am a huge fan of Bed Bath Beyond and for one simple reason: Their clearance section. They have by far the best clearance section I've ever seen. Darn that hanger set's missing it's label... half price. Wow that foot controlled garbage can has a crack, half price. Shoot, these plastic bins are missing their covers... half price. Seriously? You bring your 20% off coupon (which works on clearance items) and you can make out like a bandit. Score! read more

I'm a fan. The parking could be a tricky experience--head for the roof first. You have a better chance of securing a spot up there. This plaza hosts a few other big stores: Trader Joe's and Nordstrom Rack for example. There really is something for everyone here. Yesterday, I picked up some really nice martini glasses by Lenox. The 20% off coupon saved me $10. Hang on to those coupons that seem to get mailed out frequently. They do have an expiration date so make sure you are aware of it. I've bought a lot of different items from this store including towels, throw pillows, shower caddies, art work, lighting etc. The quality has all been pretty good too. If you like to cook, then you'll be happy to shop here too as their their selection on kitchen items is huge. Every employee that I've dealt with has been friendly and helpful. read more

HOLY SMOKES! Does everybody KNOW?! BB&B turned into a drug store as well! I walked in this week after many months to pick up some "home" necessities and to my absolute delight, there are now aisles and aisles of Walgreens type stuff that did not exist before: medicines, toothpaste, makeup, lotions, and more! And they even have the bonus eco-friendly product section with stuff like Burt's Bees and Alba Botanical. And guess what else, people?! Their prices are comparable and even LOWER than Walgreens! Yes, LOWER! This is the best thing since sliced bread. Only crutch? You have to deal with that darned loco parking lot if you don't have a MUNI pass... read more

This is like the BBB Mothership - this BBB is so big - two stories and going over top of the Trader Joe's - that you can get lost in here for days! Sometimes that makes it hard to find things. When you go off to the area with the bed linens - there are so many options - and no exterior windows and it's quite quiet - you might discover that you have been there three days! They do have fantastic sales, I enjoy the new(ish) escalator they put in and it takes carts, too. Good discounts - parking can be a hassle because you're competing in a small garage with Trader Joe's customers but you were walking or taking the bus anyway, right? I mean, it's SOMA This store is also a stone's throw from Costco if you're doing trip linking... and just a few blocks from Rainbow Grocery. read more

This is the Mothership of all Bed,Bath and Beyond stores. Contrary to what we expect for a branch in the middle of crowded San Francisco is positively HUGE compared even to their normal big sized stores out in the 'burbs. With the added space on two floors, it seems that this store has more of everything compared to the normal stores, and then some. Not that it matters to me, but this store even has a large stock of cosmetics, which is nothing that I've ever seen before in other BB&B stores. Service was friendly as normal, and prices are good when you factor in all those 20% off coupons from BB&B that you've been saving up. Hint: Ignore the expiration dates on the BB&B 20% off coupons. They honor them ALL regardless of the expiration date! read more

This store is such a bummer. I typically love Bed Bath & Beyond, but this location falls short. Can't use the word "bed" in your store name and have literally the worst bedding selection in the history of all time. Their buy planners should really re-think how they stock this location in Queen size bedding because there were no options in duvets, duvet sets, and just a crap selection of colors in their basic bedding. After spending an hour looking at a bunch of ugly king size options I couldn't use, I got in line to purchase a few other things (not bedding), and a new cashier who comes to open a new register tells me to follow him. He then allows two stupid women at the back of the line to cut in front of me, doesn't tell them I was at the front of the line, upsets everyone in the line, and then I had to go to the back of the line because this place is so disorganized no one allowed me to go back to my original spot. I hate big box stores, and this BBB in particular has an overwhelmingly large variety of stuff. The lights are too bright inside, and I have issues finding or reaching what I'm looking for. My partner likes this store, so I usually let him deal while I wait outside or shop at Trader Joe's. I can't help but rate this place five stars, though, because every one of the few times I've shopped here I've been amazed by the service. A few years back I was looking for a shower caddy in the unpromising spring/summer months when back-to-school items are a distant memory. A salesperson tracked down the last remaining caddy, which wasn't even out on the floor anymore, for me to buy. During COVID, my online purchase was misplaced, and the salesperson was absolutely dogged about tracking it down--absolutely no passing the buck. These are just a couple of examples, but my consistent experience is that the people who work there try extremely hard to be helpful. read more

BBB is only a few blocks away but I wanted to save myself some time by ordering online 9/23 in time for a trip abroad on 10/14 with some baby clothes for a new mama, but no such luck! I placed two orders back to back that were parceled out into three deliveries. The first two deliveries arrived separately by 9/30 and today's delivery which would have completed my 2 individual purchases was missing one very important item and there was no invoice inside the package Sure, they will replace this item, but based on this last parcel's shipping history definitely not in time to accompany me abroad and it was an import item given it would have tied the other pieces together quiet well. So much wasted time and hard feelings on my part that I'm thinking of just leaving it all behind and returning to upon my return especially regarding the missing item in this last package with no notice! You would think giving myself 3 weeks for ordering & shipping would have been sufficient for BB&B to satisfy this very simple order but I was wrong. BBB's communication was awful and actually non-existent given there was no notice re the missing white Oshkosh Oxford Onsie. Three weeks from ordering until receipt of some items is an eternity for baby clothes given how quickly they grow. It never occurred to me that I would but something on THEIR website that was being sold by another company and they would not take the item back, according to their normal return policy. Unfortunately, the topper gave me terrible back pain. When I took it to the store, they told me that it was sold by another company ON THEIR WEBSITE and they would not take it back.
