We loved our experience shopping here. Aggregate Supply just popped out of nowhere as we were walking down Valencia street. Stopped in because their window display was cool and ended up buying some coffee mugs I've wanted for months that I thought only MOMA sold. They have an excellent collection of home decor items as well as a great selection of cool men's and women's clothes. Everyone in the store was very helpful and friendly. The store has some lovely things but I had a horrible recent experience. I was excited to return to check it out and possibly buy something, stating upon entrance, "I haven't been here in years!". It was during business hours but I was immediately told, "I'm very busy, I don't have time for this". I've never been talked to so disrespectfully before. I've been here several times to purchase gifts for loved ones but I won't be back again. I was the only person of color in the store and the staff were notably less welcoming toward me. After perusing in an area, a staff member walked up to the area and loudly said, "didn't something used to be here?" while looking back at me. Every time my daughter and I go shopping in the mission we stop here. It is a well curated shop with a unique variety of brands. Yesterday we were shopping for jeans and the sales associate was super helpful and had some great suggestions on what to try on. I ended up with a cute pair of corduroys that I didn't know I needed! My daughter found a few pairs of cute jeans including a sale one. This is the reason to shop in person in a store. read more

Unfriendly staff, even to non patrons. I walked by the store with my sister when an employee came up the street after us. He started to accuse us of shoplifting after he said we set off their store security system even though we had not stepped a foot inside the store. He was not friendly to younger women who were visiting San Francisco. We were later still followed by another man and questioned about this situation in a neighboring store. It ruined our shopping experience in this neighboring store and left us anxious about our personal safety the rest of the trip. Small stores make me nervous. I want the sales associates to be initially friendly, not to follow me around too much, but be easily available if I have questions. I've been in this store before to browse before, but I just remember pricey, funky clothes. I wandered in again here and eyed their non-clothing items. I asked a sales associate about some cocktail stuff that looked interesting, and he said that another associate who knows more about it would help me out. Turns out the second associate knew a ton about the products and uses them himself. Super helpful. I love this place. It's got a fun eclectic collection of clothes and cute home goods. Their prices run a little high but overall they curate a good selection of brands. Came in with a friend a couple weeks ago and the shop security alarm went off as I walked in, the shop worker made me go through again and then asked to keep my bag up front. This interaction made me feel really uncomfortable and racially profiled :( Basically felt like the shop worker was saying im probably gonna steal. I understand that some stores make you leave your bag in the front, but after that specific interaction of being made to walk through the sensor it felt very charged and Im sure they wouldnt treat a white customer this way. Unfortunate because I was on vacation and really thought the shop was cool and wanted to support the business, but couldn't stomach staying for more than a couple minutes after that interaction. I have been in this shop many time. Bought candles, a pot and some socks prior. One thing that is standard is the lack of service or any greetings. I actually put back a pair of socks this time because of the the air in the shop. last time I went in I even said hello and smiled and the girl looked away. Bought a $350 coat and they left the security tag on it. I do not live in San Francisco and now have a coat that I am unable to wear. Their suggestion was to identify what type of security tag is on it and find a local store that can take it off for me. It is embarrassing and a waste of my time now. Frantically ran in here searching for my Day 3 Coachella outfit. Aside: Day 3 of Coachella is special because Day 3 isn't for everyone. Festival very much follows the "it's a marathon but sprint" vibe and some people (sadly) have to drop out before the "race" (in this metaphor, festival) is over. While I thumbed the soft fabrics of his design, he told me bits of his story and how he came to be a part of aggregate. In the neighborhood while enjoying my last day around SF, I walked by this shop on my way to another. The attractive window display lured me in (it included wool blankets from Faribault Woolen Mills, right here in Minnesota). I was quickly captivated by the variety of nice items for sale. Cool music played, albeit a titch loud. I spied some natural plant fibre facial sponges, the same ones I'd recently read about and was curious over. The person working was pleasant and helpful in answering my questions about the sponge and I ended up buying one to bring home with me to try out. This place seems like it would be ripe for bringing in fresh new things frequently. Next time I'm in town, I'll try to make it a point to return to see what might be new. read more

I'm in love with this place! I first visited in December, just a month after their grand opening, while in a rush to catch a flight. During this trip, I had lots of time to peruse their items and chat with the staff. This is the main retail outlet for the clothing line Turk & Taylor, which has an awesome, high fashion but functional feel that made me miss Portland. The clothing designer, Mark, was around and chatted to me about the materials and manufacturing and offered advice as I tried on clothes. He and a female staff member talked with me about living in San Diego, work, travel and generally shot the shit while I waited for my flight. In addition to clothes, this place has some expensive but covet-worthy home goods. I bought some hand screen-printed dishcloths made in Portland (I suffer from deep nostalgia) and some fancy socks as well as a fantastic Turk & Taylor tunic dress. This is a great little shop and a fun way to spend an afternoon! read more

Came in to purchase a new blouse and coat I was hoping they would have. I walked in and one of the sales associates walked right passed me (she definitely saw me since There was only one other customer in the store and the space is so small) and she didn't say a word. So I thought, ok well move on then. I was about to ask her a question when she asked the other customer if she needed help. Like oh OKAY. So I keep shopping because I obviously came in for a reason. I move towards the women's section and I see another sales associate on a ladder putting something away on a shelf. She dropped two hats and was about to go down the ladder to pick them up. Since I was closer, I picked them up for her. When she saw me, she went back up the ladder and didn't say anything. Seriously? No thank you? Or no you don't have to? I walked out and didn't get a thanks for coming in or have a good day. I seriously won't be coming here again. They have a great selection of wears and are very accommodating. If you don't see your size or color they might be able to order it for you. Tried to buy a book that had a $12 price sticker. Went to the counter and the women behind the counter rang it up for $31. I showed them the sticker so one of them went to check if the other copies were also marked $12. They were. She asked me if I still wanted to buy, I said yes for the $12 price. They then refused to sell it to me for the sticker price and wanted me to pay the higher amount. (Pretty sure that's against the law.) Too bad the store was really cute and I really wanted to support local stores in the mission. Overpriced and not worth the misery of being around the store owner. So I've been here twice. The first time I wandered in was six months ago. I thought that the store owner was a little uppity then, but the merch was pretty cool and I shrugged off the attitude. My second experience was today when I went back to the store, looking forward to the selection of cool things that I remembered from before. Same self-important store owner. He hovered over me the entire time I was there (the store is not very big) and it made me feel really uncomfortable. I saw some blankets I recognized from online. I've always wondered how big they were, so I picked one up from the shelf. The store owner was watching me like a hawk and as soon as I began to unfold the blanket, he came rushing over to me and was like, "Now WEE don't need to be doing that. These are such a pain to fold back up." I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and explained that I wanted to see the size of the blanket before I bought it. He took the blanket from my hands saying, "well I can tell you that" and proceeded to read the dimensions to me from the tag. I nodded and told him that the measurements were not as useful as being able to see it. He responded by saying it was probably big enough and put it back on the shelf. It was really awkward. He then attempted to smooth over the situation, but he seemed fake and self-absorbed. Still determined to enjoy the store, I walked around and saw some ceramic bowels I liked. Again, as soon as I picked one up the owner ran up to me. He said, "I can take those for you, but you do realize that you have to buy all four right?" When I asked him much they were he said $200 dollars. I shook my head and was like, "oh, sorry. I guess not." His response: "yeahh... these are pretty valuable."
