This was my first time boarding my dog and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was worried because she has a lot of separation anxiety but the staff at Bed & Biscuit were so wonderful, she did great and made new friends. They also sent daily updates with picture which helped mommy's anxiety!! Wonderful place and will definitely be bringing her here if we have to board her again. read more

Awful! We have a new puppy and called to ask about the process on enrolling in play day and the girl who answered, maybe Lainey?, was so unbelievably rude. Snarky and laughing like acting like I'm so stupid for not just knowing their policies. I would never send our guy there. My cousin also had a bad experience with them being rude. They may be great with dogs but I would never trust such a rude place. read more

We absolutely LOVE Bed & Biscuit in Lakeway, TX. Our boy Charley is very happy there, and the staff is very caring and they always take very good care of him. We have a monthly daycare package and also bring him occasionally for overnight boarding, and we couldn't be happier! read more

Bed & Biscuit - Pet Boarding Near Me - Austin, Texas

Look no FURther. You will not find the attention to detail anywhere else. I have used a handful of boarding in many states. This is THE BEST. The staff cares about your pets wellness and happiness. I appreciate the text messages- i was hesitant before because it hurts to see your dog stressed when you're on vacation BUT they were visibly relaxed and it made me feel great! Fairly competitive pricing is shocking for such a great value. This location is SPOTLESS. All dogs seem calm and well cared for. My 3 year old lab is a handful but at bed and biscuit they understand dogs and are very capable of handling dogs of all sizes and attitudes! My dogs were happy and healthy when i picked them up after a week long stay. I will use bed and biscuit again and refer them very happily! read more

Great staff, very friendly and knowledgable. They seem to really enjoy the dogs. My dog is usually pretty shy, but she really enjoyed her stay. They even played with ball (her favorite activity) every day during her stay. I'd easily go back. read more

I looked this kennel up because it is close to my house and I am getting ready to take several trips and was looking for a place that my dog would not be sitting in a crate 90% of every day I was gone. Typically I take him to my vet and overall no issues, but really he's a part of my family and I wanted to be in a more comfortable environment. When I read through their website they boasted about how they maximize calmness to make your pet's stay as calm and comforting as possible. I set up and evaluation to take my pet in this morning. Now I will preface to say my dog does get anxious and has separation anxiety when taken to kennels as a lot of other dogs do. When I arrived and met the "behavioralist" I was quite frankly turned off by her attitude. I explained to her my dog was currently seeing a trainer and she scoffed at my trainers tactics. Just in observing my dog's excitement during the interview she already informed me of her doubt my dog would do well there. Hmm, I thought she specialized in dog anxiety and the reason I was there was to make it a comfortable experience. She then took me on a tour and showed me the quiet room, which to me seemed to be more of a time out room and said they had a very calm environment and I would notice as I walked into the kennel the dogs there don't bark....ok as soon as the first dog saw us it began barking and all of the other dogs followed suit and none of them stopped even after we walked out. It was quite deafening actually and there were only a few dogs. I asked about their capacity and she said 90 dogs so I can only imagine the noise. Their sound proof barriers didn't seem to be doing much of anything and this noise alone would make any dog anxious. As we were walking out she advised that if they felt my dog couldn't get comfortable they would need me to leave my job to come back and pick him up. I almost grabbed my dog's leash and left, but was already running late. My dog has been in a kennel several times and yes, he will be unsettled at first so I knew it would take him a bit to get acclimated, but to my surprise I received a very condescending call only two hours later stating they had given it two hours and my dog just couldn't seem to get "comfortable" and I needed to come pick me up. When I got there the behavioralist advised that though he wasn't ready to stay there yet she could offer her services to get him to a place where he was calm enough to come back for what I sure would be a hefty fee. To top it off after I got their they actually tried to charge me for a full day of doggie daycare, which I simply refused to pay. After leaving and reading the other reviews I am certainly glad my dog didn't fit into this pretentious environment. Dogs are dogs. No dog likes being locked up in a kennel away from their family, plain and simple. Good luck to those that have a good experience. I woulnd't subject my dog there. read more

We are very pleased with the service. Our dog gets to run and play. They are the best we have found in the area, and reasonably priced.

Tom is one of the best groomers I have ever taken our schnauzer too. He is so patient with her, Mollie is her name and she is difficult to groom sometime. He does such a beautiful job and Mollie really like going there. Joan D read more

I read the mixed reviews here, but because of the convenience of this kennel to where I live, and because I needed one pronto (family members who usually watch my dog overnight couldn't this trip), I took my dog here. First, they required a day of daycare to get him acclimated. It was free and seemed like a good idea. But when I picked him up, I was told by the owner that they were on the fence about letting him return. I have boarded this 7-year old dog many, many times and he currently goes to daycare three days a week!!!!! (At Austin Canine Central. LOVE THEM -- but they don't board). Like many dogs, mine has his quirks, including issues with some men, but any pro can and has handled them, as long as they take the time. Against my better judgement, I did board him there. He did okay, although I got another long story when I picked him up about difficulties some staff had with him. But the icing on this bitter cake was his bordatella vaccine. They require that dogs get one every six months, and I don't mind that at all; better safe then sorry. They offered to give him one, as it had been almost a year, at the kennel on the trial daycare day, but said he was too hard to handle to do it. So I took him to my vet the next day and he got it -- no problem. When I dropped him off to be boarded, I gave the staff member a copy of his vaccination record. Several hours later, my flight touches down and I have a message from them asking me why I did not get him the vaccine! I called and explained that I had and that they had the paperwork, which she admitted they must have misplaced. Oh, but the story doesn't end there. When I picked him up, I had a charge for a bordatella vaccine on my bill!!!!! Seriously???? Get it together, Bed & Biscuit. She did remove the charge, but... Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

We had 2 experiences here and overall it seemed fine. Staff was nice, I didn't go on a tour so can't comment on the back area but expect it to be individual kennels for each dog. I'd prefer my dog to have more exercise and be free to roam with other dogs all day but this is not the facility if that is what you want. B&B is a kennel and your dog will be in a room for the majority of the day; I was told with three 15 minute breaks plus any additional play time at $5 a pop (which for 15 minutes is fine for me). The only concern I have is when they let the dogs out. My lab is super-potty trained. And I mean she goes on command plus can hold it for 12 hours easily; 14+ in a pinch (and as for longer due to circumstance). In Nov after our trip when I picked her up at 8am my dog came out at went No. 1 out front. A lot. Like a gushing flow of pee for a long time. At the time I thought, odd but nothing more. After our Dec trip when I picked her up she had had an accident on her bed. Mind you when my dog gets sick she always throws up on her own bed so she likes to keep her mess to herself. They offered to wash it but I didn't want to drive back for it so took it home. She went No 1 and No 2 on it. This was at 7:45am when we picked her up and her normal morning routine is 6:45 on weekdays; 7:15am on weekends, so not out of her norm. For her to go both potties on her bed means either A) B&B waits way too long between letting the dogs out (or just mine) or B) Something upset my dog and she skipped going potty the night before and couldn't hold it any longer. One thing about my dog is every once and a while she fakes going potty to come back inside - but only if it raining. Which is was not. I'm guessing something else was upsetting her - but what? She was a little less than enthusiastic about going in on the second trip. But seriously the staff seemed very nice. Not sure what it was. My dog is super friendly and not usually sensitive. We'll probably come here again. I mean really in the big picture it's a dog pooping her bed. Not the end of the world. Just noticed and will watch out for any issues next time. read more

I am an overprotective dog owner, so when it comes to finding a place to leave my basset, Jubilee, it is a tough job. The times I have been to Bed & a Biscuit have been wonderful. The staff makes scheduling easy and welcomes both of us when we arrive. All of the love and attention Jubilee receives at the door helps put her at ease. The text updates are wonderful for my peace of mind and I think the staff seems very proactive about ensuring that my dog is receiving the kind of care that meets my expectations. They always write in details and are very organized when I check in which seems a bit above and beyond compared to other places in Austin. Jubilee is always exhausted after her stay, but content at the same time. It is hard to leave her, but when I do I feel confident she is getting good care while I am away. Glad to have this facility in town! read more

Very excited to have gotten a referral to the Bed and Biscuit on City Park Road from a friend! To be honest I was first grumbling a bit that I had to send our puppy, 5.5. months, for a day of day care (free) for evaluation to see if she would get along with other dogs/kennel well. However, it turned out to be a great thing! She is a shepherd puppy with a lot of energy.....and after she went for her first day free evaluation/daycare she was exhausted! Also, the staff is VERY used to anxious moms and dads leaving their precious fur babies. I even received text updates and photos of her on her evaluation day. A few days later I took her in for day care....again they fed her the special food she gets (she needs a noon meal right now), sent me photos, and she was one tired and happy puppy. This week she was there for 3 days and two nights while we were out of town and she was treated like a queen. They kept track of her food/toys/leashes (nothing missing which is not always the case when you board), sent pictures of her playing with dogs, and she was very happy when we picked her up. They are sticklers for everyone having their vaccinations and that dogs get along (hence the evaluation) and it shows that they run a tight ship over there. Very happy Bed and Biscuit-Listo will be back! read more

This place is awesome! My dog loves it and Gene and Kara have taken the place from great to awesome over the past year. They genuinely care about all the animals, remembering them and all their little quirks visit after visit. My dog comes back happy and tired (which is a great thing when I'm tired after a work or personal trip). It's a great buy for your money. read more

My dog vacationed here for 4 days while I went out of town. He looks to have had a fantastic time! Everyone here is so nice and really made it possible to relax about him being taken care of while I was away. I would recommend and return! read more

We had to board our 1 year old pit here for a total of 9 nights while we were in Mexico on vacation. We loved that they require that you come in for a complimentary day of day care to make sure that your dog will work out at the facility and give you a tour of the place for peace of mind. The staff is super sweet and friendly, and they sent me many text and photo updates throughout the week that we were gone. The price is definitely affordable as well, and we were able to book the week about a month out from the holidays, when other places were way booked up! I would definitely refer Bed & Biscuit to other dog parents and will be using them in the future for sure. read more

Brixton, my one year old toy poodle, has been going to day care here for the past few months and he seems to really love it. He gets so excited when we walk in the building and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are about average, maybe a little above, but it's on my way to work so it's not a huge deal. I always appreciate when they have pictures or video of him playing with the other pups when I get there to pick him up, it always seems like he had a lot of fun and is totally worn out. I haven't boarded him yet, but this would be the only place I would take him. read more

Bed & Biscuit - Pet Boarding Near Me - Austin, Texas

I LOVE b&b, but most importantly, my dog loves it there! I have been taking my golden retriever here for over a year. Every time I drop her off, she looks like she's going off to summer camp and is so excited she almost forgets to say "bye, mom!" Recently, I had tried taking her to a vet to board her (Not b&b) for just a couple days, but when she got there she put on the brakes and started panicking. I had boarded her there once before, and I guess she remembered. I almost let them take her, out of politeness, but I snatched her leash back and called bed and biscuit as soon as I could. They let me bring her and board her at the very last minute. When she got there, she was smiling and wagging her tail and all the workers were excited to see her, too! I felt so much better leaving her in their care. Also, they send you pictures of how your pup is doing! My girl always looks happy. Thanks Bed and Biscuit for taking great care of my little girl! read more

After attempting to call on four separate occasions to inquire about puppy training - my calls were never returned. I was reassured multiple times that the trainer would call me back or whoever answered the phone would as well; however, my voicemail remains empty. Even if busy, send a text or email acknowledging you're busy but will get back to me as soon as possible...it goes a long way. I know with millennials the work ethic just isn't the same as it used to be, but I thought an established business would be eager to respond to customers willing to pay for their services. We were willing to pay a lot of $$ for training, grooming, etc. but will now be taking our business elsewhere. read more

We started kenneling our dog here when we go out of town after our normally energetic puppy came back from a 3 day stay at the vet's kennel all shell shocked and lethargic. I was pretty worried about it, because we're sort of obsessed with our dog, but after several stays he's always come home just as happy as when we dropped him off. I like how they've started giving out little report cards on how he did and who he played with! The staff is all really friendly and I feel like they're taking good care of my lil man! The only reason I'm not quite at 5 stars is because whenever we pick him up he pees for like, 3 straight minutes (TMI?) and I wonder how often they let him out. Or maybe that's just his weird way of celebrating our arrival... I wouldn't put that passed him. read more

We've been taking our dogs here for over 6 years and LOVE IT!! This is our dogs' "home away from home" and I couldn't be happier with the treatment that our pups get. Heck, our dogs don't even look back at me when I drop them off, but go trotting away with the staff to go play! We were SO happy when Gene and his partner bought the place (though the previous owner was also absolutely fantastic) because he's been such a wonderful person to work with. He remembers our pups (even after we moved away for a year and a half!!) and helps make every one of our boarding experiences as pleasant and relaxing as can be. I love this kennel and I know anyone who boards their pets here will be VERY happy. read more

Our dog Porkchop LOVES the bed and biscuit! He goes there several times a week- and would go there every day if he could! I love that this is a day care experience for all dogs. If your dog is social- great! He/she will get to play with friends. If your dog is not social, then he/she will get some exercise time with humans. The play is in small groups that are carefully selected, and the dogs get breaks so they aren't over stimulated. This keeps the pups safe, happy, and tired! The staff is amazing, you will always get pics of your dog, updates, and we've never had a problem but I imagine if one occurred it would be handled without incident. The cherry on top is this is a locally owned business that actively supports a local dog rescue. They are extremely generous, and I love to support businesses that give back to the community. I can't sag enough amazing things about the bed and biscuit! read more

Had boarded my dog several times at this place (in large part due to the Sunday pick up), but will not be going back. My dog is very playful (will sit down on walks to wait for other dogs walking by to say hi and try to play)...but for some reason has had dust-ups with other dogs the past two visits. No serious injuries or subsequent trips to the vet (as I've read about other dog-owners), but the staff there was totally clueless as to which breeds they group together during play time (which can be an added fee) and couldn't tell me who was on staff at the time of the incident(s). I can give a pass to the lack of explanation/awareness of what occurred since they might have been very busy. However, I was particularly bothered by the fact that the report card t given during check-out conveniently omitted any write-up of either incident (all grades marked 100% rather than providing me with documentation that could be helpful if I had to go to the vet or was thinking about a future stay with them). It's also worthwhile to mention that the price has gone up around $15 a day to $38. There are numerous options with better service at a better price here in town than this spot. Would not recommend to other dog owners in the future. read more

We have never had to Kennel our dog, 10 pound Bichon Frise, we always fly or drive with him when we go places but the one place where we chose to go did not allow dogs. So we took a big chance with Bed & Biscuit and we couldn't have been any happier with the care our dog received. We took everything "Sammy" needed for his stay at the "Inn"-is what we called it to him. We took a blanket not a bed so we could wash it when he returned home. They played couch potato with him each day because he has lots of health issues that made him not really active. He also had three different eye drops that were needed to be put in his eyes, we gave them directions and they followed them to a "T" his eyes looked great when we picked him up. They also offer for an extra charge a grooming but you have to request it. They will give your pet a bath prior to you picking them up. They are super friendly and loving towards everyones animals. This is the only place that our dog would not be scared at, except home and the groomers. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I do being I am a concierge for a time share where we do not allow animals. Please give them a shot, they are worth it. read more

Our 2 beagle mix girls have never spent time in a real doggy daycare or boarding kennel before until we tried this place 8 months ago. Our girls are now daycare regulars going 2-3 days a week, and we have boarded them on weekends 2-3 times as well. We're lucky in that they are only 5 min drive from us and their hours for daycare drop-off at 7:30am and pick-up until 7pm is very convenient. During daycare they get to go out about 3-4 times a day for 15-20 minutes and get to hangout with other dogs. We've had great customer service from them so far in the past 8 months since we started! They have a nice variety of affordable (about 25-30% less than prices downtown in comparison) packages for daycare and boarding options that reward you for loyal regular. When you board your dogs, they also offer extra cuddle and play time with them and text you updates on how they are doing while you're gone. The staff and the owner have always been very accommodating and helpful, and the best part is that our girls always seem to be so happy while they're there which is the main thing I care about. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! We left our 7 month old boxer with these people and when we picked her up she could barely walk, was starving, her ribs were sticking out, and she had lost 5 lbs. They tried to tell us she had a bug of some sort but the vet confirmed she was starved. They admitted only giving her half of what she was supposed to have in her diet. I hope you think twice before leaving your animal with these people. BTW, we gave them several opportunities to admit their fault and they said they would refund us $50 of our $500 tab. read more

Excellent! We've boarded several times over the last few years & have been nothing short of pleased every time we've taken our dog there. The owner & staff clearly care about animals & their well being. They're friendly, knowledgeable & professional. We love the facilities, which reminds me of a quaint cottage in the woods. We and our 'baby' love Bed & Biscuit Kennel. We have had excellent experiences at both the City Park Rd and Debba Dr locations. The staff are ALWAYS welcoming to our great dane and to us. Our dog is always happy arriving for day care and when we pick her up. The text pictures and comments of her playing are reassuring and fun. The staff and owner are loving, observant, and good communicators. They are careful that the dogs' vaccinations are up to date, and that any who are sick do not come to the kennel. We feel very lucky to have found B&B for our baby, who has gone there from ages 6 to 18 months now. We will continue to take her there for sure. read more

Have used Bed & Biscuit five times over the past two years and everytime has been super. My two dogs (now 1 1/2 yrs lab, and 2 yrs boxer) come home happy, clean, and healthy. My lab is very needy and the B&B staff pays special attention to him. The staff actually checks that records are current. I had used my vets kennel one time and that was all it a was - a box. B&B actually takes the dogs outside in playgroups (if your dog likes that sort if thing). Scheduling has been easy and I have slways gotten a call back. Overall, great joint to stash your dogs when you have to be away from them. Cheers read more

Updated to add: Sadly, we can no longer use Bed and Biscuit. The new owners have a policy requiring an "evaluation day" for dogs who haven't been there in over a year, even if the same dog has had many lengthy and successful stays there in the past. I still have every one of my dog's "report cards" going into detail about how our dog is the coolest, he's so chill and well-behaved, they never want him to leave, etc... but now apparently he has to be "evaluated." This is a dog who used to stand up and run tiny circles in the back of the car as soon as he saw the highway exit for Bed and Biscuit, he was so excited and loved it so much. It's a stretch for us to pay for boarding (which is why it took us over a year to make another reservation). We had a little extra money for our vacation this year and really, really wanted to splurge, but the added round trip from Kyle is just more time than we can realistically afford. I'm feeling legitimately emotional losing access to such a great place, and I know our dog will be sad too. read more

I have known the staff at Bed and Biscuit for years and I can say with confidence that they are knowledgeable about animals and truly care for their well being. I wouldn't trust my animals to them if I didn't feel this strongly. Since the change in ownership things have improved even more! Kara (the new owner) is taking this place to a new level of professionalism. I'm sure without Gene (who at the time was an employee and is now the other owner) that place would have fallen apart in the hands of the previous owner. She was very rude and to be honest I wondered about her business practices. Without Gene I would have never trusted my dog to spend everyday there. I find some of the claims made in the negative comments below VERY hard to believe and would side with Bed and Biscuit in a heartbeat. Also, some of these comments have old information including not being open on Sundays. They are now open on Sundays since the new management took over. All in all this is a class act place and my puppy gives it two paws up!!! read more
