This is adorable pet boarding facility that also has a little store. I went in this store to buy some pet grass. The people who worked there were so helpful, kind, and accommodating. This store is a wonderful place to go if you're looking for a small thoughtful gift for a cat owner. They have these wonderful peacock feathers for $1.75 each. They have great candles as well as other things. The decor is homey, quaint, and comfortable while quite stylish. They have ample parking. Impressive! The Best! They took care of my cat pretty well. He came home very calm and well-adjusted, as if he had been pampered and coddled his entire stay. I'm sure he misses them! When I went to drop him off before hours, I didn't get to see the. place, but the building looked new and clean. They gave me updates and I appreciated the postcards/Facebook posts about many cat's well being. When I went to pick him up, I was impressed by how clean the place was, considering how my cats and finches were present. My cat's room was very clean, with a big window, the jungle gym setup, and a loft bed. The kitty litter had added fiber pellets, which I hope he liked since he hates sawdust litter. They gave me back everything that I left at dropoff, plus a toy. My cat was very calm, coming by his own free-will to greet the handler. To me, these were all green flags and I will highly recommend Whiskers to anyone needing a safe place for their kittens and cats to stay for a short (or long) spell. They know cats better! read more

I had to board my 6month old kitten for the first time ever and went with Whiskers due to the great reviews I read on Yelp. After this experience I completely understand why they are so highly rated! Upon check in they allowed me to tour the facility and take my cat to his room. They got him all settled in, in front of me. Explained to me all the amenities and play time he will get. How on earth did I not remember to come on here and give an amazing review?! My sweet baby stayed here for three days while we were having our floors redone. I was so nervous, but everyone was so kind and loved on her. They sent me pics and video and treated her like family. She had her own little room and all kinds of fancy things. Whiskers is "the" place to board your cats! We have boarded our babies twice at Whiskers. They have different rooms to reserve and meet all the cats' needs. When we told them that our 19 year old cat needed to eat small amounts 5-6 times a day, they did not hesitate to accommodate us. I just stopped by their store this week to buy peacock feathers, a candle, and mice for our son's cats. The cats love the feathers and mice. My cat Tobias was boarded here for the first time ever and I am SO happy we chose this business!! Tobias absolutely loved it and I received an update with pictures over his stay where I was assured that he was adjusting well, playing, eating, etc. My nerves were put at ease the moment we walked in to drop him off and I saw a sign on his door that let others know to keep strings away from him (cat parents you know why). This is the review my cat would write... First day: I'm mad at being in my carrier. Once mom lets me into my hotel room, I run to a soft bed and hide. I like this soft bed. It feels safe. I will stay in it. I am mad at my mom. Next day: I feel shy. I still like this soft bed. I look around my hotel room. New people seem nice but I'm shy. There are cool toys here. My mom called and they put her on speakerphone. I yelled at her a bunch through the phone. Other days (I can't count because I'm a cat): The nice people here play with me. Obviously I'm awesome and they have come to see how great I am. I show them how I can jump, climb, headbutt, purr, roll, eat, and catch toys. I still like this soft bed. Last day: My mom came to get me. I wasn't that interested in leaving because she had my carrier and I prefer to not be in it. All my new friends at Whiskers said bye to me. This was my first time boarding my cat Brittany, who quickly earned the title of "Biscuit Queen" while she was here. I typically have someone check on her in my apartment, but I wanted to try somewhere where she'd receive more constant attention. My bashful cat has boarded with Whiskers three times (from a few days to two weeks), and true to his nature, he is always wary and timid in his new surroundings... at first. My Husband and I love Cat Whiskers. We can travel and have our baby CocoaBella taken care of without worry. They are the best for our aged baby who does not like the sounds of a dog barking. They offer large rooms, sunny windows, bird feeders for entertainment, and a staff that knows and loves felines. They sent us an adorable little slideshow of her playtime while we were away and it totally melted our hearts. I was happy to drive from south Austin to Georgetown so that she could stay here. We have boarded our cat Amber at a few places in different cities over the years, but nothing compares to the posh room and loving attention she received at Whiskers! She was extremely relaxed from the moment we brought her home, so we knew that the time away from us had not worried her one bit---and I think that is because of the kind Whiskers staff and the lovely room with soft music. I've never before boarded pets because there were always family and friends around to help out, but since moving half way across the country we realized just how good and convenient we used to have it. I searched high and low for a kitty only boarding facility in Austin and much to my surprise, one didn't exist. I came across Whiskers and wondered whether or not a hike to Georgetown was worth it. I'm so happy we decided to check it out because it's 100% worth it! Twyla was very friendly from the moment we walked in and she happily showed us around their luxury kitty hotel. They have a multitude of rooms to choose from, all ranging in size with window or canary views. They also have sky-boxes at the top so the kitties stay busy with the primarily vertical arrangement of the rooms. Soft music plays in the background and they have a large selection of cat food and supplies if you want to purchase something for home. These ladies seem to love what they do and care for all of their kitty occupants, they watched over our three furry bundles for 9 days and sent updates and even moved them to a room with a view because something simply opened up. Communication is great and I felt at peace knowing our kitties were in good hands. We will be returning to Twyla and Jenifer while we are away for the holidays this year, because frankly if I were a cat, I'd totally dig this place. read more

I am so happy that this cat hotel exists, that I happily drive my two kitties over from Central Austin before we go out of town. There's nothing else like this spacious, safe, and happy place for cats only. I've had poor luck with cat sitters. And although my kitties are safe at our vet's boarding, they really don't like the cramped space and sometimes refuse to eat there. My spoiled fur babies, Ms. Edith and Mr. Buckminster, have very sophisticated taste and like nothing but the best. So Whiskers is a dream come true, and their staff is simply the sweetest and most accommodating ever. They take great care of me, and I think of myself as a helicopter cat mom! I boarded my kitten Nala here right before she turned six months old while I was getting married in Mexico. She was there for seven full days and I was extremely worried leaving here because of her age, the fact that she has never been overnight without me and because she has an asthma condition that causes her to need to be put in a nebulizer twice a day. Putting her in the nebulizer itself can be a feat with a crazy, energetic and scratchy kitten. I left her Sept. 20 and got her the slightly larger one kitten unit with the view of the bird feeders. I opted to get her playroom and exercise sessions because she is very active. I also paid to get the daily picture updates. She seemed very excited to have such high spaces to climb and I left her knowing that she would be in good hands. Nala was very entertained with the birds and activities provided. I received more than daily picture updates, but also the occasional video message. Because it wasn't that busy, Nala received extra playroom and exercise time and extra love and attention. They were professional enough to understand her medical procedure and I felt entirely comfortable leaving her there. I plan and bringing her back for a short stay over thanksgiving for my long weekend trip. Best part of all- NO DOGS :) In a world where they are countless opportunities for dogs it's nice to see them excluded. read more

Our cats haven't been in a couple of years because we have a personal cat sitter now, but I must say the place is beautiful and clean and the rooms are spacious. The staff is very friendly and professional and most of all, our cats loved it. We were pretty new to Texas, didn't know many people and had a pre-planned vacation, so we were delighted to know that they boarded cats only and that they are right next door to our vet and close to home. Their prices are reasonable and they opened right when we needed them. If our sitter cannot watch our kitties, we know that they will be in good care at Whiskers. Obviously they pay the kitties lots of attention because ours didn't seem to care we were there to pick them up after not seeing us for a week. They even sent our babies home with some new toys. We were concerned how he would do without access to the outside but I called ahead and was reassured that they'd had cats that were nearly feral do fine. Well, he did great! I have two outdoor cats but I do not want to leave them outside at night or otherwise unattended during the day. I was a bit worried about how where to board them as I wanted a place where they would be safe, not stressed out by dogs, and not in a cage. The suites at Whiskers Cat Boarding are built with an emphasis on vertical movement so my cats had room to stretch their legs and to find places where they felt comfortable. When I picked them up they seemed happy and not particularly stressed. Of course they took off when we got home but that is to be expected. They returned as usual and seemed to be their normal selves. The owners sent me pictures of my cats which was wonderful! Whiskers is a godsend. My poor cat was stricken with quite a few medical problems all at once last October, which also happened to be the month we had to go out of town for a wedding. I was really scared to leave him considering he was still on the mend from major surgery and required medicine every 12 hours but after his first visit I am completely at ease with leaving him there. The ladies who take care of the kitties are true cat lovers and treat them all so special and will do just about anything they need to be comfortable and at ease. We get our cat one of the largest suites in the corner with a view of both a bird feeder outside the window and a view of the cage of finches in the hallway. He loves it. So much so that he didn't even want to come home! Just be aware that if you have a cat that you think doesn't enjoy being in high places that this will probably change after they come home from Whiskers! He loves the little shelves and the skybox. He pretty much stays up there his entire stay. As if it wasn't enough that they are totally ok with all his special needs and checking on his breathing regularly and giving him plenty of love, they also send updates on a daily basis. Often with pictures! Once they even sent me a video of him on YouTube so I could see for myself how he was doing! I love Whiskers. I wouldn't be able to leave town if it wasn't for them. I can't say enough good things about Whiskers Cat Boarding. I have three cats, one of which needs daily insulin shots, and I have to travel regularly. It is not easy finding a place that can give daily injections, let alone a place where my spoiled and dog-phobic cats will feel safe and comfortable. I used to keep them at a very nice luxury place that boards cats and dogs. It was really nice and well run with a separate area for the cats, but still my cats would always be so stressed out when I went to pick them up because of the constant barking of the dogs. Plus it was really cost prohibitive with the three cats. Even though they were all boarded in the same room, I received only a small token discount for the additional cats. For a long time, though, that was my best option. But driving down Williams Drive, I noticed a new cats-only place that just opened and decided to stop in and take a look around. This place was as nice as the other luxury place, with a few key differences. First, *NO DOGS.* The place is so nice and quiet, so much less stressful, with classical music playing in the background instead of the ruckus of dozens of dogs. They have a little cage with finches in it that all the cats can see and the cats all have sky boxes where they can hang out. The sky boxes are wire, not glass, so the cats feel a part of the action yet aloof and protected--just how cats like it, ha, ha. Also, I am very picky about sanitation and this place was spotless. But the best thing--they charge only $5.00 extra per day for additional cats. Are you kidding me?!? The other place didn't even give me a $5.00 *discount* per cat. That, and the fact that this place's prices are slightly less to begin with, means that I pay less than half what I was paying at the other place and no dogs to boot. But then the big question: Do they do insulin shots? I was so excited to discover that they do. I actually had a trip coming up in a few weeks, so went ahead and made reservations. When I stopped by, I saw an awesome cat tree they were selling, cheaper than PetSmart and much nicer quality. I asked them if I could buy the cat tree and have it put in the cats' room for them during their stay, picking it up at the same time I picked the cats up, and they agreed. They also allowed me to bring my cats' own favorite bedding and toys, which was nice. I left my cats there for three nights and when I came back to pick them up they seemed happy to see me but really not all that stressed at all. It's such a cute and homey little place, they probably just thought they went to stay with a friend or something. I really am so glad that I found Whiskers. Now I can go away without worrying about my sweet babies. I know they will be well taken care of and much less stressed. I'm already planning a summer vacation--something I haven't done in several years! read more

It's very difficult to find a boarding facility that caters specifically to cats. Whiskers understands cat psychology and has constructed its enclosures to make cats feel comfortable: their kennels have multiple vertical levels, so that cats have freedom of movement and are not confined as they are in traditional crate kennels. My cat is normally totally stressed out when kenneled, but she maintained her appetite and weathered this boarding better than any other she has had to endure. There is a cost premium for choosing Whiskers, but it is worth it. If you are a resident of an area near Georgetown, I advise you to take your cat to Whiskers rather than kennel him/her at a vets or other standard facility that kennels dogs and cats, even if it means making a significant commute. read more

Wonderful facility! Our 2 cats have stayed there twice and love it. Each room has a high overlook perch and some rooms have birdcage or gerbils they can be entertained with. Some rooms have windows to watch over the outdoor bird feeders. You can pay extra for time in the playroom or individual exercise time. Staff are friendly and the place is kept very clean.
