I love this store and the knowledgeable people who work there BUT you can never count on when they will be opened. I have to come Bremerton and every time i make a trip they are closed at some different time of the day. No rhyme or reason to when they will be closed. When I was a kid, there were shoe store chains. The most popular one was Thom McAn Shoes with Kinney Shoes a close second. Both were large stores that offered personal service. You'd sit in a chair and a shoe salesman would break out the foot measuring device, stick your foot in it and see that foot's length and width. Then he'd go into the stockroom in the back and return with a few boxes of shoes in your size to try on and he'd help you with the fit. For the most part, all that's gone now. And that's why I was delighted to discover that Beck's Shoes still gives that same personal shoe sizing and fitting service I remember from years ago. Kevin, the shoe salesman on duty, was the personification of the highly trained and experienced shoe professional I was hoping for. But what made him truly valuable for me was his understanding of the balance and other issues I face with peripheral neuropathy because he deals with it, too. Before I stepped onto the foot measuring device he held up an arm and fist for me to cling to because he knew I was afraid of falling. That was immense for me, and Kevin immediately became my buddy. Kevin was a marvel. While my wife and I were there, three other customers came in and Kevin showed us all personal attention without any of us feeling neglected. That's extremely hard for a one-person store and yet Kevin did it effortlessly while maintaining friendly and personal service with each of us. You bet I trusted whatever advice he had for me after that. I left the store with two pairs of New Balance shoes and two pairs of Aetrex insoles that both my podiatrist and Kevin suggested. I'm now walking far better and more comfortably despite my neuropathy thanks to my new buddy. This store has a huge stock of shoes so finding the model you like in the size you need should be fairly easy. They sell a bunch of accessories, too. What's cool about the store is all the photos documenting the chains 105 year history. And that says something: The likes of Thom McAn and Kinney Shoes are long gone but Beck's Shoes is thriving. The chain offers exceptional customer service that should never be considered old-timey, and fair prices, discounts and rewards. It's the only place I'm buying shoes from now on. read more

Did a foot scan for each of us and walked us through what the scan showed and gave her own observations and professional perspective to help me find the right shoes and my fiancé the best insoles. It was my first time going into this shoe store to get a new pair of running sneakers. I was very pleased with the great service by Tifanny. She helped me in multiple ways to get the perfect fit for my feet. She measured and did a standing feet analysis and went through a variety of inserts to help my arch. I saw Beck's Shoes (formerly Harrison's Shoes) today while I was in Poulsbo and stopped in the store to see if they carried a Hoka One One hiking boot that my physical therapist recommended for me. The Sequim Beck's doesn't carry it. I was very happy to find the boot in Poulsbo. Tiffany, the Poulsbo store manager greeted me and provided excellent service. She was able to provide a pair of "try on" socks like the weight of the ones I usually wear. That made a huge difference because I was barefoot in a pair of sandals when I walked in the door. The store is short-staffed and despite that, it's organized and easy to navigate. Tiffany was very pleasant and helpful without being pushy. I will most certainly return to Beck's Shoes in Poulsbo. I am happy with my new boots. read more

Great selection of footwear and insoles, awesome customer service. Tiffany offered fantastic recommendations for insoles and sneakers for my husband and I based on our foot scans. Tiffany is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. We are loving our Hoka Bondi running shoes and Superfeet insoles. I am also feeling wonderful on my Aetrex flip flops. We went into Beck's Shoes to buy some walking shoes for my wife on July 22, 2023, while we were vacationing in Port Ludlow. Team Member Chris McDaniel provided us with extraordinary service, and he was a genuine pleasure to work with. His low-key approach made us both feel completely comfortable, and we were grateful for his obvious but unassuming expertise. We ended up buying five pairs of shoes for my wife and one for me--and we were very happy with our purchases. Hadn't been to the store since they changed their name, but I was certainly impressed! They have added arch measurement technology, that helped me discover I had the wrong insoles in my old shoes. What a fantastic shoe store. The service was incredible. Needed to get shoes for my 90 year old father. His feet and legs were a mess, and Tiffany did a fantastic job managing his expectations, and finding him the perfect shoes. He bought two pairs, socks, and orthotics and he loves his new shoes. He had been falling because of the shoes he was wearing, and once she got him in the right shoes that fit his feet, he was dancing across the store doing his balancing exercises. The manager Tiffany deserves sainthood for handing his gnarly feet, and her patience with helping him. He felt like this was the first time in 12 years that he got the right shoes and felt that his needs were met, and wanted to hug her on the way out. There are things that the staff at the Poulsbo Beck's Shoes store do well. They are very knowledgeable and will make good suggestions. However, I was very disappointe, having visited this store when it was under different ownership. They have limited shoes and brands, and although the two ladies staffing the store made friendly comments, their tone did not match their words. They did not sound friendly, but more like indifferent New Yorkers. Prices seemed high too. Sadly, I won't be back. read more

Hard to find great shoes without heading to Seattle and shoes especially good shoes can't be ordered online. You really need to try them on and be fitted properly. So sad the Harrison Shoes in Poulsbo was sold. I had a helpful, former Harrison's saleswoman at the new place, but the bombastic "trainer"from California was so obnoxious, I might actually have to take back the shoes I bought on general principle. After he tried to butt in and use hard sell crap in me, he talked at another employee in his outside voice telling her about how to do the hard sell. I finally said I couldn't hear my saleswoman and would he tone it down or take his conversation elsewhere, the saleswoman thanked me. Then, when she was having trouble with the register, he refused to come out of the back to help her because he might piss off that lady. Too late! I bought the shoes anyhow because I didn't want the saleswoman to feel bad. But, upon reflection, they are going back tomorrow. I'd rather drive to Harrison's in Sequim or go to Indigo Plum than support that type of behavior. read more
