So much to see, their buyer did especially good this year. So, after I made my choices, I got in line to see there's only one cashier. That's right, One. Cashier. Eleven people in line, some with full carts, including glass items that need to be wrapped in tissue paper. The cashier seemed frustrated, how could she not be? Where is management? I guess this company doesn't care about the employees (welcome to retail), but also the customers. Home Goods, do better. I'll be back, because I love your merchandise, and I sure hope you've made some improvements to your customer service.

JC Penney remains THE only place where my wife finds outstanding deals and selection in women's petite clothing. Since my wife knows her clothes sizes--which haven't changed--there's no longer a need for her to try on clothes at the store. We buy everything for her online--frequently at great sale prices. The store's great at quickly shipping out orders and getting them delivered within a few days to no more than a couple of weeks. It's nice reading that the chain has made a comeback and that overall sales are up.Without JC Penney, my wife wouldn't know where else to find such excellent petites fashions at great prices. This is an average Kohl's, but the few times we have been in I am so caught off guard by their…read morepricing structure and subsequent discounts. They definitely inflate their prices to trick consumers into thinking they are getting a discount or deal, but the quality of their products do not justify the "regular price tags." They usually have plenty of inventory, and we have been pleased with the things we have purchased, but I usually find coupons so that we get better discounts than the in-store discounts. I don't think that shopping at Kohl's is an inherently better shopping decision than other chains in Silverdale unless you have their card and get their coupons and utilize all options. Unless you're inundated with Kohl's brand everything, I just don't see how other consumers think it is a suitable alternative to Target, etc.

I should have known it would initiate a comedy of errors that would make me relearn the forgotten decade-old lesson. One item from my online order didn't fit, so I decided to return it at the nearest store, which is in another county. I prepared myself for the trek by making a shopping list of jeans to try on, confirming on their website that all were in stock at the store (jeans are something you really need to try on, buying them blindly is a gamble). All plans were thwarted when I entered the Silverdale store. It would be my last visit to any Kohl's; read on. The return went fine, other than their deducting $8 from the refund of the $35 item. I understood it was because I received Kohl's cash to spend, and that's fine. So let's go shopping! I was unable to locate any of the items on my shopping list. Since I neglected to pack snacks and a compass, I asked for help. The lady from the register made an effort to look around, but said she didn't recognize any of the items, and they never stocked them. Bait & switch, eh? Strike one, Kohl's. Determined to make the journey count, I searched for some jeans to try on. Leafing through a bizarre size distribution of XS to XL with squat in between, I found 3 whole pair that might remotely fit. But rut-roh, the fitting room was closed! After the predictable goose chase, I came in contact with Keeper of the Fitting Room, and kindly asked if I could enter her barricaded domain to try my 3 items. She said no. Really, no? I don't want to make another trip out here. She insisted, no, she was busy. Final word. Too busy with only one other customer in the store? How do they stay in business anyway? Strike two, Kohl's. Not wanting to waste time fighting it, but not wanting to waste time coming back out either, I summoned my inner bluejean rebel and tried on those jeans right there on the ghost down they call a sales floor. Turns out nothing fit right anyway, so I saved myself another two hour round trip. Fed up with the store, I went home to find something random online so I wouldn't lose my $25 Kohl's cash. Logging in, I found a cruel surprise - $12 Kohl's cash had vanished, along with my patience. In a last ditch effort, I found a $12 clearance tank top to spend my remaining consolation prize and be done with it. Then the free shipping coupon errored out, "try again later." Not in the mood to spend $8 shipping on sheer principal of getting my money's worth of random crap I don't need, I tapped out, down my original $25 coupon + $8 shorted on the refund. Yeah, I know, the house always wins. Strike three and Kohl's is out. It's no wonder the store was deserted. Limited selection, employees on permanent coffee break and pitfall policies. Silverdale Kohl's would better serve the community as a big, stupid, empty monument to apathy, which it probably will be before long. Buh-bye.

I recently stopped in after another errand while in Silverdale (8/15/26). Found what I needed during this visit. Older parking lot and location versus East Bremerton. Boxes provided, unlike sturdy plastic bags at other locations. Prices can vary by location too. A particular soup mix packet cost 30 cents here vs same packet was 17 cents at East Bremerton site. I also had a charge on my receipt for something I was not clear about. It was listed as Apparel N PCR for 15 cents. I spent over $86 and was not going to quibble for that small amount. Also, steelhead salmon rang up as trout. I passed on a dozen eggs for 80 cents during their 3 day anniversary celebration, because a portion were broken. Just saying.

The name of the shampoo I purchased was Briogeo and it was a scalp revival type of shampoo with coconut oil and charcoal. I have really been enjoying using it in the mornings or whenever the need arises for a shampoo in the last few weeks. I was very pleased with my purchase here and enjoyed this brand very much. This Ulta store is about like any other but I did like the item availability a bit more.

You can't beat the prices of the spirits here or the tobacco. Remember that huge selection? Well if they don't have what you want, they'll dag gone order it for you and keep it in stock if it sells. The lines are hit or miss as they typically don't seem to have more than two people to the place. Really theres no more need to goto the mini mart since this place has it all. Including the red box machine out front. Plus it is connected to the main NEX so you can pick up your brewskis on the way out.

I have not figured out the rotation on these specials but periodically watch for them when I go to the exchange. The customer service is great, always helpful and friendly folks at the counter!
