    Bees in the Burbs honey!
    Vanessa L.

My fiance's best friend recommended this place to us and we have been a customer for almost 2 years now. We love going to Bees in the Burbs for our honey! We go for the honey sticks and the jars of honey. Our absolute favorite jar to grab is the Meadowfoam. The taste isnt overly sweet, but the taste reminds me of marshmallows. There is a variety of flavors for both jars of honey and honey sticks. There are also seasonal flavors for the jars. Our favorite has been the orange blossom, which comes only in the spring. It has a sweet orange flavor, almost reminding me of lemonade but orange flavored. The most interesting ones for the honey sticks are Habenero and Amaretto. Habenero is a bit weird as it isnt spicy but it has a kick. They have sticks that are crystalized and decrystalized. My favorite to pick up is the chocolate, decrystalized. I just love crunching into one and tasting the sweet flavor of chocolate. The sticks are about $0.20 per 100 sticks. They offer classes for beekeepers or for people who want to get into beekeeping. The friend of ours has gone before and has noted that it is a very informative class and wants to go again to help develop his learning and curiosity. If you purchase a 3 lb jar, bring it back after cleaning it and they will give you a discount. It doesnt have to be the same flavor you got last time either. Plus the 3 lb jar usually lasts us about 6 months to a year and is $21. They do have other sizes available as well.

Tucked away in a little lot off Maple Valley Black Diamond Road is a nice little spot to get arguably the best honey of all time. I'm always amazed by the mellow Mr. Sparta laying there in the front waiting for rubs from the customers. This place has tons of variety from very light colored star thistle honey to very dark buckwheat honey! They have lots of amazing gifts and bee pollen and soaps. I have been coming here for years and will forever be a customer.

When I called to complain, the gal could only say, "the photo does not show all the flowers. Once the lilies open up the arrangement will look bigger". Guess what? No unopened lilies were visible. In their defense, I have been using Williams for 30 years and this is the first time I have been disappointed. Follow up: Problem solved. As it turns out, I was sent the wrong photo. The correct photo shows a bouquet that I am happy with. Changing rating to a "4".

They sent me a picture and the roses looked so old as if they had already been opened for awhile. Along with the picture they sent a phone number to call if I wasn't happy, and when I called it went to voice mail. I left a detailed message, but they ended up sending the exact arrangement they'd sent a picture of, they didn't redo it as their message indicated. The flowers looked old and a bit wilted. It had been made about 24 hrs before it was delivered, and they used roses that had already been open a long time. What a waste and an embarrassment that I sent these flowers to my friend for such a big milestone birthday.

I really don't like using Yelp to complain but sometimes it is what it is. I have a dear friend in…read moreScotland. She ordered flowers online through www.fromyouflowers.com, which apparently contracts with Forever Lilacs, because that is who ultimately delivered the flowers. These flowers were ordered well in advance and supposed to be delivered on Friday, January 17th. They were supposed to be shades of light purple in a clear vase. They were delivered at 8 pm on Monday, January 20th. And nothing is light purple. The vase is a deep reddish purple, and the roses are pink. The florist got the phlox right, but that's it. Why does this matter? Because January 17th was my late daughter's birthday, and purple was her favorite color. Our dear friend wanted that color of flowers on that specific day, as we lost our daughter just 6 months ago; she wanted to remember her on what would have been her birthday with something that she would have loved. The wrong colors, and three days late? I'm just glad the florist who provided her funeral flowers wasn't operating like that. As if that's not enough, when the flowers did not arrive on time our friend was told via email we would recieve an upgraded arrangement and an apology. We received neither. Postscript: I really felt uncomfortable leaving this negative review. What if somehow this florist hadn't gotten the order until Monday? What if it was the internet company's fault? My review stands as written. My late daughter made desserts for a well known Seattle restauranteur. If she was to provide chocolate eclairs for the Paramount Theatre on a specific Saturday, a dead car battery earlier in the week and a lack of chocolate on hand the day the desserts were due would not have made it acceptable to show up the following Tuesday with cream puffs. That is not how a successful business is run.

Called the florist and she said her delivery girl had a "headache" now two days later after calling repeatedly I'm going to go pick up my suppose to be delivered to me flowers lol. This was quite questionable. Go to the apartment where she has her business out of and she made it a point to clearly "put more flowers in" as she put it. But clearly replacing the old welted flowers as it was more than obvious after it sat there for days. Unfortunate and unprofessional due to it being flower delivery which is time sensitive and for a loss. Hopefully no one has the same experience. Wanted this to be awareness for future customers paying money for these services.
