My dad loves rocks, so whenever I travel I always try to find a store to bring him something back. Popped in here while walking around the island and they had a good selection. Staff was super friendly. I ended up getting him a "ruby fuchsite". I'm not familiar with that particular rock, but the cashier told me to make sure I have my dad use a blue light on it. Hidden Gem is a cute little shop on Winslow Way selling gems, crystals, jewelry, and other related merchandise. My five-year-old Leo B. loves a good gem, and has already asked us to buy him a ruby multiple times (we've consistently, emphatically declined, but I hope he doesn't think he'll be getting one for Christmas). We both enjoyed browsing this store. There were a lot of loose stones and crystals throughout the shop, and these were fun to look at, especially with a child who was fully agog that a gem could be shaped like a heart or a star. I remember being fascinated by colorful stones at his age, and watching him in Hidden Gem took me back to that feeling of innocent wonder. Still, I have no problem saying no to my son, and rejected his requests for a $32 paperweight and other various items too expensive for a five-year-old. Lucky for him, we weren't alone in the store. My mother was there with us, and when Leo requested a $4 green goldstone, I said only a sucker would buy a $4 gem for a small child, then let Halmoni take over. She declared herself a willing sucker and bought him the sparkly green stone, which a kindly sales clerk wrapped for him in paper. I told Leo he was in charge of keeping track of his new gem, and two weeks later, I'm not totally confident he knows where it is. He does love it, though, and I admit it is more attractive than the rocks he just made us bring home from the beach. All in all, I'm glad he got this little gift from Hidden Gem. $4 of Halmoni's money bought him a good deal of happiness. read more

Hidden Gem is a true "Hidden Gem" of a shop. What an absolutely lovely little shop with an assortment of beautiful crystals, jewelry, and other fun items. When you first enter there is a table with a large variety of tumbled stones priced as low as $2-3 for a small stone. I love this because it means everyone can afford to find a stone that resonates with them that they can bring back as a souvenir. I had a lot of fun choosing which ones I would take home and learning about new stones such as the apricot agate which was absolutely stunning! They also have very large and expensive crystal pieces which were fun to look at. I was excited to take home a strawberry quartz(I think that's what it was?) sphere at what I felt was a reasonable price. The manager and the employees were so nice and they did a great job wrapping my stones so they would be safe for travel! read more

My cousin was visiting from out of town and so we took the ferry over to Bainbridge for a day trip. While walking around, she saw this store and wanted to go inside and it was exactly the type of store she loves to check out. They sell gemstones and crystals and candles and tarot cards and stuff like that! It was such a cute store and had so much stuff to look at! I think we spent at least an hour in there. My cousin bought a bunch of the little stones (the table display of the stones was amazing with each stone having an ID card that says what each stone represents). When she went to check out, the lady asked if my cousin had taken a picture of the stone ID cards so she could remember what she bought (which is a smart idea) and when my cousin said no not yet, the lady went and brought the cards over and put them next to each stone for her. It was so so kind and thoughtful! The customer service was so so wonderful here! We loved it so much! It's a cute place to get some gifts! read more

This store was a complete disappointment. I bought a $70 ring here on our visit to Washington in August, a little over 2 weeks after my purchase (already home) the stone from the ring actually fell out and was lost. It just fell out!! When I contacted the store they basically said, " Oh sorry our return/exchange policy is only for two weeks." They wouldn't allow me to send them the ring so the jeweler could fix it, they wouldn't give me a refund even if I returned the empty setting. The lack of integrity over the situation was beyond disappointing. I put my faith in the Hidden Gem when purchasing from them that the quality would not be in question, my bad. I wouldn't trust the quality of any jewelry item in this store, so just a heads up, such a disappointing experience. I'm sure the actual jeweler would be mortified to know that their jewelry had failed to this degree. read more

Just a wonderful space for everything & anything energy-related. There's trinkets/knick knacks, gems, rocks, stones, books, decor pieces and more. Hippy, earthy, spiritual, geographic, energetic, healthful, mindful; a bit of everything. The artwork & murals along the walls are delightful, as well. The layout of the space is quite nice.
