visited here from out of state! this place was cool and loved that you could buy beads individually rather than strands. they do have strands as well tho. the individual beads can be a bit pricey as well but great selection & very organized. their pearl selection was a bit small which was unfortunate as that's usually my favorite section of bead stores. but they did offer more variety of other beads than other bead stores i've been to. they also have a punch card system which is cool! i'm not local so i did not pick one up but never seen that at a bead store! worth checking out!!

Found this for sale in the back! A find!

This is an amazing store with incredibly helpful staff. I will be back. I had driven by the store before, but then found them shopping online on Etsy - and figured I would go see the goods in person. So glad I did - found what I wanted and walked out with an amazing bracelet on sale there.

BeadWorld is a magical place. Even if you don't like jewelry making, this is a fun store to visit. First of all, the selection is phenomenal. You'll most likely find what you're looking here, because there are so many options. It's so fun to browse everything and see all the colorful bead options. Secondly, the prices are great. I was impressed with how affordable most things were here, especially compared to other jewelry stores. Finally, the staff is SO friendly. They're all committed to helping you with whatever project you're working on. Special shout-out to Phoenix, who literally put my bracelet together for me (see pic), and did the same thing for my friend's necklace. They're so talented, especially with wire wrapping. Thank you so much, Phoe! Please come here. I brought a friend who didn't think she would enjoy the experience of shopping here, because she's not into jewelry, but she had a blast. She said the store soothed her anxiety.

Amazing selection of fun unique beads and beads in bulk as well. This is a great store for crafty bead projects. One of the staff members told me some fun facts about the czech beads when I was viewing them and I really appreciate when people are passionate/interested in the things they sell and where they work. I spent hours in this store because I am very bad at staying on task and should have thought out a little bit better of a color scheme since I would often stray even with a vague agenda, though I had nothing else to do that day so I didn't mind. The parking was a little tough and I ended up parking about a block or two away on the side street of a residential area. The beads themselves cost about 10c-$3 depending on generally how large/intricate they were and the beads on string were around $3-$9 for the ones I personally got. They had a decent chain selection, but it was a tad pricier to me so I didn't get much of that.

My ex husband took my daughter here often when she was a child and she still visits to this day. She recently made me a bracelet with some GORGEOUS beads that I was incredibly impressed with. I have never seen such interesting beads before! My daughter said that she bought all the beads from this establishment and I can't help but rave about them!

I made this in the chainmaille class.

Twice I've asked if I could get beaded bracelets restrung. Twice I've been ignored. I won't have anything to do with this company.

And I supported it wholeheartedly despite sometimes finding items slightly cheaper elsewhere. Additionally, as an art educator I always suggested it to my students for their value, as well as excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed to say both superb customer service and cost value are gone. Firstly, I learned from my students that student discount was no longer available. Then after my last visit, I was stunned how much the prices have increased. Still, I remained a dedicated patron. After coming home I realized one of the expensive wooden panels had a substantial gouge in the corner - simply too noticeable to try fixing. I confidently returned to the store but was told they would not take back the damaged items - because they couldn't verify it was damaged before my purchase. The associate was unbearably rude and dismissive. One my way out I expressed my profound disappointment with the current direction of this trusted business with another associate, only to have the associate I originally spoke with catch up with us. Now they changed their song, saying they could accept the damage item but I was very lucky because it's not something they always do. What?! The associate appeared to be making up policies as they went along. In the end I kept the damaged wooden panel, as I will keeping my business away from this place.

This is one of those unusual old-fashioned businesses where when you dial their phone number, they pick up the phone. No robots giving you options to press one or say "representative", I just dialed the phone number and Kevin picked up. He was wonderful to work with on our wedding invitations, advising us on what we needed to create them at home from the already-folded and torn seed paper and twine. They even made us custom paper that only grows blue and dark red flowers, because we're having our wedding guests plant them and then bring them to our wedding. :D As much as I love their old-fashioned phone etiquette, their website is also a bit old-school and could be improved. Of particular note is that Kevin sent me a link to an "estimate" page, where I went, looked at the estimate and then emailed Kevin back to say it looked good. Fortunately I sent him a follow-up email asking when & how to pay, and apparently on the same page there's another link to where you are supposed to pay...not obvious to me, so it could have been days before I checked in with him again to see how my order was going. So if you're in a rush, you should remember this and when you see the "estimate" page look for the payment link to make sure your order goes through. Thanks to Kevin and anyone else at Of The Earth for our gorgeous wedding invitations (my friends will be amazed because I really have no design sense!). And as a bonus, or maybe as a main reason to go here, everything Of The Earth sells is about as eco-friendly as you can possibly get. Bravo.

Horrific customer service. Deplorable…read more I found this company on Etsy, where they sell "flower seed paper." I was stunned to discover the exact same paper on Amazon, in larger quantities, at a cheaper price. I approached Kevin/Lori/"Fiona" about this concern, and they claimed to be the Amazon vendors also. However, I contacted the Amazon vendor, located in a completely different state, and confirmed that they have no affiliation with Of the Earth. Hmmm.... Please be aware that this company greatly overcharges for shipping. I needed two rolls of paper for Christmas wrap, and wanted to support small business. I made it very clear to Kevin/Lori/"Fiona" that I needed them by Christmas. He/she/she strongly encouraged me to pay a whopping $18.50 for expedited shipping for possible delivery before Christmas, making the grand total for two rolls of paper and expedited shipping $44.72, an exorbitant sum that I was willing to pay in a pinch for it to arrive on time. But you guessed it: the paper did not arrive on time. By Christmas (a week later), the tracking number indicated that the item was mysteriously still "on its way" to a USPS facility. We're talking Seattle to San Francisco, so not a great distance. The sellers were extremely apathetic, unapologetic and dispassionate; they claimed that they were unaware that I needed it by Christmas, refused to acknowledge that they had encouraged me to pay extra for expedited shipping, and had no interest in working together to arrive at a resolution. When the item finally arrived (after Christmas), I immediately sent it back, as I no longer needed it. I suggested that it would be fair for us to compromise on shipping costs since they encouraged me to pay the expedited shipping; I would never have purchased the item without their encouragement, yet it still failed to arrive in time. They refused any sort of compromise whatsoever, citing that it "was not [their] fault" that it did not arrive. That is questionable, as I have no proof that they actually shipped it when they said they would - only proof that a shipping label was created - but even more to the point is that it was most certainly not my fault either. It is the seller's responsibility to ensure that the item gets to the customer. Why should the customer be punished? But they did not care, and would not budge. I was far more upset by Kevin/Lori/"Fiona's" attitude than the fact that the products did not arrive on time. Is this company so strapped for cash that they could not spare even a couple of bucks towards shared shipping to keep a customer happy? Even on general principle? That's just the wrong attitude for a small business owner to have. Bad look. I did not resist, but simply requested to see proof that the shipping fees were actually $18.50. No reply. To my third request, they finally responded to say that "we have reached the end of the line - I can't do anything more to assist you." So... there is no proof of the actual shipping fees. Do they buy on Amazon to sell elsewhere for a profit? Are their shipping fees legitimate? Caveat emptor!

About two weeks ago, my favorite K-pop group, LE SSERAFIM, was in town and during the encore, they came out in full UW gear. After researching, I found out that the gear was from University Book Store. I really wanted to buy the hat that Chaewon wore and was able to find and buy one there. It was a University Book Store exclusive printed/embroidered on '47 brand Hat. There is a reason I am telling this story though! While I was there, I looked around and see what kind of merchandises they were selling and I noticed that they have done collaboration with quality brands such as Lululemon, Champion (reverse Weave), Adidas, '47 Brand, New Era, etc. Clearly, whoever is in charge of designing the fan gear here knows what they are doing. They also had a clearance section upstairs with items marked down up to 50%. If you're a current UW student or UW Alumni and haven't been here in recent years like me, I highly recommend checking it out. Check out my photos of all the UW gears that LE SSERAFIM members wore during the concert.

I've also noticed that books are arranged similarly to Barnes & Noble. I've been told that the books are carefully arranged and sorted via subcontracted by Barnes & Noble, so if you're interested in that, this is definitely the place for you. The prices are a bit high, but they do go back into student support and activities, so it's a good investment. Also, there is a 20% discount or specific dates and timelines along with promotionals for students. but I don't think that these discounts apply to text books. I definitely recommend a university bookstore.
