When I walked in, every one of the staff members said hi. A very nice woman by the name of Regina came out from behind the counter to greet me. I'm just at the beginning of learning anything about Wicca, and she made me feel very comfortable about not really knowing much. An item I purchased was left behind, and she found my number through their rewards program, and texted me to let me know. What other business would actually do that nowadays? This is a great shop for practitioners of magic, whether you are Wiccan, Christian, a green witch, folk witch, or a root worker/conjurer. They sell tarot cards, incense, herbs, crystals, a variety of statues (I was pleasantly surprised to see not only the usual pagan and Christian statues, but also statues for Vodou/Santeria, Norse deities and Greek deities). The shop felt very inclusive of all different magical traditions. They offer a lot of beginner books, green witchcraft books, and titles on deity and ancestor veneration as well as folk magic. While they have a few popular tarot decks, they carried more unique tarot/oracle decks than I've seen at most metaphysical shops. So you might find something here that you won't see at other shops. They also carry runes, magic oils, different types of magic candles, as well as magic powders and rice specifically for rootwork and conjure. I was actually very impressed that they offered rootwork items as that is something I rarely see outside of a botanica or specialty shop and I did not expect to see anything like that outside of Seattle since I've heard Washington is a bit more conservative than California. Avebury Myatikals is a small store, but they have a lot of items for such a little shop. The owner and staff were super welcoming and inclusive. One of the employees also has a beautiful gray cat that hangs out at the shop! Since this store is very Craft-focused, you're not going to find general spirituality books here. It is heavily-oriented toward witches, root workers, tarot/rune readers, and those who love crystals. It's not one of those one-size-fits-all metaphysical shops that will cater to yoga, holistic medicine, energy healing, angels as well as magic items. In my mind, this is more of a plus than a minus because sometimes I just want magic and divination tools, not general spirituality books. Avebury is hoping to eventually set up an online store. I really hope they do as it would be nice to have another small business to patronize. The next time I visit Washington, I'll be sure to stop by again. I loved the vibe of this store.

I picked up these little heart shaped crystals with message cards in the back by the cashier. When I asked the cashier with curly hair if she could tell me more about the items and the energies, she rudely scuffed in my face and chuckled at me. Once I felt that rude ENERGY from her I immediately knew I was not going to support this business. My friend had just finished purchasing her item and also noticed that she had an attitude. She was not greeted at all with her transaction and honestly she regretted purchasing here after our entire experience. Instead of explaining the items which would have been alot simpler. She directed me to a table at the front that I already browsed at. The table was cluttered and it was hard to sift through the information and pinpoint which ones correlated to the heart items - which is why I asked her for help. We simply thought that since she obviously works here, she would be able to politely explain the products to me but I guess her only goal was to turn away customers who just wanted to have a fun day at the island.

I am so glad she found this cute little shop!!! The owner (i never got their name but AMAZING SOUL!!) Is so nice and friendly. This store is absolutely so cute, there are so many varieties of apothecary items, including an herb shelf (got myself some Blue Lotus flowers!) That was my favorite aside from the little area where we could write our own tarot cards. I loved that idea so much. They apparently pick one a day to display. I think this really invites the community of people who come through to place a piece of their essence here and share in the kindred spirits I definitely feel. If I ever come back to visit my bestie, I'm for sure coming back!
