Super fun store on Bay Street in downtown Port Orchard. They moved South down the main drag right…read moreinto the downtown area. Handmade with Love is a combination gift shop and also an arts-and-crafts class facility. They offer all sorts of classes for reasonable prices to make fun things! Last month my wife took the crochet class with her sister to learn some basics of crotchet. But while there, she saw the "Make a glass and bead windchime" class so signed us both up. Today was the class - and I have to say it was a lot of fun! They provide all the "parts and pieces and tools to do the job" and seemed really well prepared for us. We each made our own windchime ($35 or so each - very reasonable). The instructions were simple to follow, with lots of assistance on anything that wasn't clear. I was the only guy in the room, but it was a lot of fun - I helped some of the ladies use the crimp tools to crimp the nylon line used in the windchime's construction. Loved the results - it was a fun time spent - really nice folks. Anne ended up buying another kit to take home. If you like doing crafting things, just stop in and see what's on the schedule for upcoming events - and of course they also have "pre-made" items for sale as well for home or gifts. It was a fun hour spent there today!!

Today we had just a basic drip coffee and a non-fat latte. Both were very well done. In fact, my drip coffee was so good I had to ask what kind of coffee it was. I learned it's called Sulawesi Coffee grown in Indonesia, and known for being low acidity, and smooth. I had to read about it! It's also nice to know she sources her coffee locally from a vendor on Bainbridge Island. Nice touch. In addition to the coffee offerings, she also has a small but nice assortment of gifts and artworks for sale as well. Also the presentation isn't pleasant. Just look at the vase it's either a dark face or a clear vase with a dark brick with a flowers in it. I have been coming to the South Park Pharmacy for years. They have three pharmacists who work there…read moreand give personal service to patients. I like this pharmacy over Walmart or Walgreens because it is the way all hometown pharmacists used to be, they get to know who you are and give you good information on your meds as needed. They also are good at answering any questions you may have. I also like looking at the many gift items they offer for sale. And find it amusing the way they display their items. Because I swear someone very OCD is responsible for lining up the gift items in the whole store, very monk like in spacing items so they are exactly the same distances apart. And they are always dust free and moved around from day to day it seems. OK. If you need sugar free candy here is a place to get them. They carry a good assortment of sugar free chocolates and hard candies here, I like the Baskin Robbins sugar free candies myself. The store itself needs major updating. Some new carpets (currently the carpet looks worn, dirty and ugly 70's orange) and a new counter at the pharmacy (their counter is peeling apart) would help improve the places looks. But I come here for the service which is more personal than a Walmart or Walgreens drugstore.
