Now, I am not a sewer, but on my recent visit, I had a lot of questions about it. Thankfully, co-owner Britt, was ready for my noob questions. Not only was she incredibly patient, but she was extremely knowledgeable. She came across as genuinely passionate for what she does In addition to running the store, they also teach workshops for sewers of all ages and ability levels. In fact, my friend is a beginning sewer who has been attending class on Saturdays, and has already begun putting together beautiful clothes for herself. That said, this is a truly unique place, and the thought of it being located here in Tucson brings a smile to my face.

They also donate to a women's artist/artisan group in Africa and you can purchase jewelry, particularly necklaces, made by that group. The artist working when we got there was very gracious - she came up and told us about the shop then went back to work but she was on hand if we needed to check out. My friend got one of the beaded necklaces and I got a Seattle-themed art piece in the shape of a crescent moon. It was very hard to decide. Everything was lovely. As we understood it, Ms. Stirrett has several large commissions located throughout the region. Hope to pay better attention and see some of those soon. We will back here for Christmas.

Like a mini-Etsy on Bainbridge Island!…read more I was showing some out-of-town guests around because they wanted to ride the ferry, and expected to see the usual assortment of overpriced and cutesy gift shoppes. Indie Banditas is tucked away from the street, but it's worth hunting down. The shop is small, but crammed full of jewelry, bags, beauty products, handmade art, and other trinkets. And, impressively, everything is handcrafted by locals, so you're not just taking home any old souvenir. Everything is pretty affordable, and there are plenty of small treasures for under $10 - I got a solid lemongrass-ginger perfume and a lavender-vanilla lip balm for $3 each. The owner is super-friendly and chatty and loves to talk about her wares and the store. Customers are encouraged to sign the cement floor with a Sharpie marker, and many people already have. If you're on Bainbridge for the day, this is a must-see little boutique that will impress even your fanciest big-city visitors.

It was ok. There was not much there that sparked my interest other than paper, which I already have a lot of. I liked the way she had themes grouped together but there wasn't a whole lot in the store, which had a lot of unused space. They didn't have basic things such as stickles or punches. She had a very limited supply of dies and stamps. Prices were on the higher end. I can't say I would make the drive back. I did see that they had a big classroom space and they do have classes each month, so that is really cool. The lady working was friendly.

Carrie's private class was very informative and interesting! Carrie is a warm and caring art instructor who truly cares about the success of her students. She really wants her students to excel by first giving a detailed lesson on how to create a master pieces from start to finish before painting. Also, she is willing to jump in and help with any challenges that arise during the painting process. She is very approachable if any questions come up during the lesson or painting portion. Lastly, she is able to help you properly hang your work. I highly recommend Carrie's lessons! She is at the top of her craft; willing to meet anyone at their artistic ability level; and truly wants her students to walk out the door feeling proud of their work.
