Bought a TRAXXAS TRX4 for $500. Went home, opened the box and charged the batteries. After looking at the car I felt I got the wrong color (grabbed the silver SHOULD have gotten the RED one) came back the NEXT day to exchange for a different color and was told I had to ask the manager. So then I had to come back the following then after that to talk to the manager, he didn't even want to look at the car which isn't cheap. I was willing to upgrade to a nicer, more expensive option but was still told no. DO NOT recommend this place. BAD customer service. Stuff happens and business work with customers who use their business but this place didn't even look at the brand new control truck. Which cost a pretty penny! read more

This shop has time and time again been helpful, knowledgeable, and the customer service has never fallen short. They've always have a great selection from everything that flies, floats, fast, slow, big and small, on road and off road, crawlers etc. I've bought multiple rigs from these guys and have been pleased every time, they don't try to oversell you on stuff you don't need. The crawling course out back is great and affordable, and if you get burnt out on crawling break out your fast car and run the track. 10/10 solid guys behind the counter and thoroughly recommend this shop! read more

They do have a decent selection of parts and vehicles, and some good prices. But, the main guy in the store was very rude. He was very dismissive and didn't want to answer any questions. It almost seems like he'd rather not be there. I went in to ask about a solution to a steering issue with one of my crawlers, and he said that's just how the truck is, there's no way to fix it. Then went straight back to watching whatever on his phone. I've been here several times in the past and received the same treatment from him each time. Last time I asked if they had a certain part for one of my arrmas, he said they don't sell just that part, I'd have to buy a new set of complete shocks. I gave him the part number, he wouldn't even look for it. You're better off buying online, unless you know specifically what you need and don't have any questions about anything. read more

After encountering the rude and clueless "staff" at the Tukwilla -Southcenter Hobby Town store, I was pleasantly surprised by customer service that was so thorough and knowledgeable at RCH. Went in with my vintage RC car to ask a few questions and buy a few extras. Wasn't even able to ask all my questions. Right away was treated rude and dismissed. Basically telling me my car is useless to someone like me and to save it and sell to a collector. I have 95%+ parts for it, just not fully together, I truly want to get it together for sentimental reasons. I asked them to test a part for me and was told it was impossible, to find out from another hobby store that was incorrect. They just didn't want to take the time to do so. Solid folks! Solid selection! I just got into quad copters recently and they have a specialist there, I think his name is "Robbie" and he's incredible! The guy had definitely built his fair share of them and he's willing to do minor welding work for you in person. Super super helpful. I have a bad receiver in my quad and the helped look up the specific board I had and helped me install the correct cables to get it back up and running. SUPER friendly. I'll give my money to them (over big name online stores) any day of the week! read more

I'm pretty disappointed in the customer service that my husband and I received. We are new to the rc hobby and was looking for some helpful advice when purchasing some replacement parts. In addition to the replacement parts, we bought a battery for our helicopter that he said would work and after installation the board caught fire as he had sold us the wrong battery and we ate the $20. Ok fine we will take our loss but when we went in there for the third time to get more parts we felt rushed and pushed out. It felt like we were not welcomed. After the third time of feeling like our money wasn't enough we have decided to order online. We are pretty bummed but it is what it is. Good luck! read more

This is a hobby store I visit 2-3 times a year, typically for parts for my R/C cars. They have the best selection of kits & brands around, bar none. I'm lucky enough to have them right in my own neighborhood! The service is phenomenal - they always have time to talk shop, make recommendations, and even find an obscure part from their supply box in the back. I never feel rushed when visiting, even though they are often busy - there is enough staff to wait on everyone, and they are all equally knowledgeable. Recently, I picked up a lipo battery here for a truck I'd bought from a friend, just to make sure I was getting one that was well-matched for the custom motor setup. Later, I found that the price was very comparable with the online retailers, which is tough for a B&M store to match. I always come here first nowadays! Parking is great, the store is very accessible, and I'm usually poking around in here while waiting for my barber next door to open up. read more

I've been going here for years for my R/C plane and car needs. The location is small, but packed with models, parts and supplies. The store is kept well organized and their prices are very competitive. The most important part of any hobby shop, the staff, has always been super friendly and helpful. The are always happy to answer any questions that you may have and have never steered me wrong. One really nice thing is that they have an off-road track out back that you can access all day for a small fee if they aren't holding an event. I haven't tried it out yet, but will report back when I get a chance to. Really happy that we have these guys in Covington! :) read more

Was there yesterday, waiting to be let in the store. The person at the door sticks his head out and asks me very gruffly, (no hello, no nothing) "what are you looking for?" I respond with "a Maxx." The answer I got was "we're all out, don't have any." Funny thing is that on the cabinet at the front of the store in plain view is a Maxx and while I was waiting I watched another customer pull one off the shelf, look at it, and put it back. (The front door is glass.) Obviously not going to go back after being treated like that. I can't help but wonder if this is the same person that is the "greeting" on the phone greeting. Very gruff and abrupt. (That should have been my first clue to not go there.) read more

The store guys were super helpful and patiently answered his questions and helped him make an informed choice. They seem to carry a lot ranging from boats to airplanes, cars, monster trucks, drones. I have tried going to this store a few times since i moved here from out of state, and have been disappointed every dang time. Their customer service sucks and they act like your stupid or your simply not worth their time. On several occasions i have gone up for a needed part and told them what i wanted, thy then pick up that 1 item and start immediately checking me out when I'm clearly still looking at other items to buy. Last week is what broke me though, i had bought a 2s lipo battery and new brushless system for a new rc drift car I was building, while I was in there trying to spend money they acted like I was bothering them by being there. When i got home i took the battery out and tried to slid it into the battery slot but it didn't fit so i boxed it back up to return as soon as the Christmas holiday passed. I got there (2 days after I bought it) and they proceed to yell at me because the battery was out of balance and slightly puffy, they then proceeded to tell me that they don't sell batteries that like that, but I did nothing to the battery at all so........ they ultimately exchanged it but the damage is done i will never spend another penny in that store. read more

This store is a great place for an RC hobbiest! The customer service is great. They are quite knowledgeable about the hobby, from RC cars to Helicopters. They are always busy with customers when ever I go there, and to me, that's a good sign. That means that people like coming to this store for help with there models, and to possibly buy a new one. RC HOBBIES SAVED CHRISTMAS!!! My son got a cool Lego set for Christmas yesterday. While cutting open the plastic bags he accidentally cut one of the wires that powers the sound effects. He was bummed. He also got a better battery for his RC car but it came with the wrong connectors. We took both to RC Hobbies for help. The owner personally soldered the cut wire AND the proper connectors on the battery and refused to charge us anything. Plus he gave us a ton of tips about my son's RC car and advice on my son's upcoming Pinewood Derby. By the way, Google maps puts you too far west. It's farther east in mall that in on the corner of SE 272nd and SE Wax Rd - in the same parking lot as KFC/Taco Bell and McDonald's. read more

I just recently started getting into RC cars and had an issue with my traxxas and was recommended to go here by a friend and as soon as I walked through the door I was greeted and taken care of, they fixed the issue with my car immediately for free! They also educated me on the different batteries and chargers, even gave my daughters suckers. I will definitely be frequenting this store! These guys make a point of knowing as much as a group as possible. They have guys who know about planes, helis, multirotors, boats, cars, and the best selection of fpv gear there is locally. I have had equipment go belly up and they have always helped me get it sorted out with the manufacturer. Rob is the heli and multirotor guy and he knows his stuff! The prices are fair competitive compared to what is on the internet and I would rather buy from them because of their great customer service. I have young boys who ask a lot of questions and they are always accomodating and never talk down to them. I really appreciate that. One suggestion would be to sell on the internet. I have some old gear and I knew that I at least needed a battery to get things running again. The problem was that it had been 10 years since I was into this hobby and I forgot all the technical details about compatibility and charging, etc. Turns out I only needed a battery and the owner explained the difference between NiMH and LIPO plus more. He reconfigured my existing charger, set up the connections on the new battery, ran a quick test on my traxxas and just all around explained things and got me going. It would have taken me hours and lots of reading to get back into it. I just wanted to get my rig going again and drive it! Really appreciate the help I got here. read more

I had been looking for some very small drill bits that no regular hardware store seems to carry, when it occurred to me to try a hobby shop that specialised in models or R/C. So I used Google Maps on my Cell and found this place... Sort of. Google Maps has them misplaced a little, but the address is correct and it was not hard to find. it's were Doug's Barbershop used to be for any old timers out there. The store is crowded with all manner of stuff, so it was easy for me to wander around looking lost in the hopes that the store employee that was playing with a quad copter would acknowledge me and point me in the right direction. It bothered me at first that this did not happen, but I found them my self and made my selection before turning to the counter still unacknowledged. I was waiting for the other employee who was servicing a customer to ring me up while his co-worker continued to bother me by playing with the quad copter. But before the diligent employ could finish with his customer the annoying one handed the quad copter to a small boy I did not notice standing there and told him "That seems to have fixed it! On your way!". Without waiting for the boy to thank him, he apologised for my wait and asked if I had found everything I was looking for. THE NERVE OF THIS GUY, making me feel stupid for being annoyed at him. Remote Control Hobbies has an enormous selection of tiny drill bits. The customer service was good after all, and the prices were fair. It will be the first place I look for small precision tools from now on. read more

I went in to this store the other day, and was shocked they were helping a kid work on his car. And another guy was soldering something up. I hung out a little bit and after 40 minutes helping a kid out his parents asked what they owed, and they said nothing. Then the guy soldering said they same thing to the other guy. I had to ask why they didn't charge. The told me they have a labor rate but if they are showing a customer how t do something or helping a kid out. Or a quick soldering job they don't charge. I wouldn't of believed it if I didn't see it. Didn't buy anything but will be back for sure. read more
