I am under this place's spell! Mountain Rose Herbs Mercantile is like walking into a potions class at Hogwarts, minus Professor Snape. I swear every time I come in here, I lose all sense of direction and walk out with a bag full of things I absolutely had to have. Today's damage included rainbow and white peppercorns, harissa, za'atar, the holy grail saffron, oh, and some nice-smelling soaps! This place is magical. It smells INCREDIBLE, the selection is amazing, and it's basically impossible to leave empty-handed. This place is amazing! I came here because I needed some culinary lavender to make a lemon lavender cake with, and wow, am I glad I found this place! It is a beautiful treasure trove of herbs, spices, teas, dried flowers, soaps, salves, lotions, and all kinds of supplies for making your own bath and beauty products. I have been hoping for a place like this ever since Zenith Supplies in Roosevelt closed and now my wish has come true. Will be telling all my natural products and organic-ingredient-loving friends and will be shopping here a lot more for supplies and gifts in the future. read more

I am a long time user of Mountain Rose Herbs and have purchased online for years. When my husband and I saw this storefront in Seattle during our visit, I was so excited to stop in and get to shop around in person! I could have wandered around for hours looking at and trying all the different products. The store is absolutely beautiful and offers all kinds of quality, well-made and sourced goodies. Outside of that, the service was top notch. I really wish I would have gotten the name of the lady who helped my husband and I. She was so sweet and answered all of my husband and I's questions, gave lots of recommendations and never made us feel like we were a bother. During this visit we got a new tea pot for my husband a long with a selection of loose leaf teas and we can't wait to try all of them out! read more

I'm always on the hunt for something new and unique, and you can definitely find something here. It's also the best place for gifts. As a huge tea aficionado, this place is like a trip to the candy store. Everyone should be swinging by this place instead of the tourist trap shops at Pike Place. This shop is HUGE and you can find such a wide variety of tea, spices, essential oils, and everything organic in between. I was excited to find out that Mountain Rose Herbs was opening a location in Seattle. Mountain Rose Herbs is well known in the Herbal Community. There was quite the line throughout the day of their grand opening. It was exciting to meet many other people from all over the area showing up for this event. We were welcomed in and the first 100 customers received a swag bag with MRH goods inside. The store is beautiful. Could be problematic for those that can't get around well. There are a few areas that you cannot get to if you are unable to climb stairs (2 or 3 stairs). Being that there were many there it was not easy to get around. As things calm down it should be better. The baskets that hold the bags of herbs are a little tall for the shelving and can be difficult to shop. The magnetic sample tins kept falling to the floor as people were trying to shop the herbs. They do have a few items available that you pay for by the ounce. I wish all of the herbs and spices were available to buy in your desired amount. I was a little disappointed that some of the items available at Eugene location were not available here. I did overhear them saying that some items were not in stock yet, but did not see any empty spaces on the shelves--so not sure what is not in stock, or will not be available at this location. What an amazing place! So many items to look at, smell and learn about! They have an enormous range and selection of herbs, both in bulk and prepackaged. Teas abound, as well. We were headed back to our hotel with all of our backpacks in tow but noticed this place and had to stop in. Lots of samples to try and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Even though I was loaded down with my luggage and on foot, I still couldn't help but to purchase a few items as gifts. Great atmosphere and vibe. Definitely recommend read more

My husband and I recieved the Mountain Rose Journal - Issue 7 in our mailbox by mistake (previous homeowner's). The cover looked interesting enough so we both flipped through the journal. The pieces within the it were so well written and informative that we were encouraged to look up the store, which happened to be located in Downtown Seattle. A quick 25 minute drive from the Eastside led us to money well spent. Through the help of the gentleman working (did not catch his name), we were able to pick up so teas and ingredients to make some of the non-alcoholic recipes from the journal that ended up in our mailbox. We could not recommend this place enough, and would suggest that customers ask for the journal! read more

I love this store! It was a total delight to roam about, enjoying the multitude of beautiful choices of organic herbly-burbly everythings and anythings. Mountain Rose has been one of my fav go-to herbal stores but the shipping did bother me. I sent out wishes for a Seattle store (and also noted that in my Yelp review for the Eugene store). Zing-whoosh, magic happens and ta-ta: a store in Belltown! Despite the tsunami of major corporation bullying, it is a no-brainer to actively seek out LOCAL stores and visit them! This is the golden way to support our local economy and wider community. The variety in clientele is heartening (many young ones - hooray) and the staff are exceptionally kind, helpful and knowledgable about the products. Gotta say: what a delight to stand in a store with wooden floors and warm, thoughtful displays rather than cement and sterility. And ... I had a flashback! Seattleites may pine the memory of dear Zenith Supplies on Roosevelt (now closed, boo). This store has some elements of Zenith like the vast choice of essential oils and a wide variety of ingredients and supplies for crafting DIY skin/hair/home products. I wish there was a way to have bulk options so you can measure out herbs in paper bags but I understand.. yes.. efficiency in pre-packaging items, and, I suppose, less risk of contamination. Mountain Rose is a Light. Go see for yourself. Support the love of herbs. Our world may appear as Mordor at times but Mother Earth reigns in this Emerald City gem. read more
