Before I spoke with her I thought I was going coocoo for coco puffs. I heard voices(whispers) and see faces on things that got me wondering if it is real or is it just my crazy imagination? Was I thinking too much hmmmmm or was it just a coincidence? She told me to push my ego aside and learned to accept that what I was experiencing is REAL!! We spoke for an hour and everything she said was like an eye opener. I needed a teacher, someone to guide me and man I could listen to her forever!! She taught me how to accept it and not be afraid of what I've been experiencing. She asked me if I was afraid and I told her kind of because of all those scary movies like the Exorcism. It put a wall up for me and made it hard for me to be opened. But after I spoke to her it was as if The Great Wall of China came crumbling down. POOF!! Days later I started to feel more chills and ringing in the ears.. it intensified! Last night was the worst OmG! Around 10ish my son fell asleep and nobody else were in the house but my 2 cats. I went to the restroom and I heard someone whispering outside the door way. I thought it was my son and went to check up on him but he was completely asleep. I started getting chills on top of my head and the ringing became more frequent and stronger. It was left ear, right ear, right left....beeeeeep beeeeeep... Arrrrggg. so annoying. THEN!! I woke up in the middle of the night around 4ish. Whoa!!! My ears were going haywire and I was getting all kinds of chills...(esp. in my bedroom). The pressure in my ears were as if I drove up the mountain. I just wanted to go back to sleep because my head was hurting. So I messaged Joni like an hour ago before I wrote this Yelp review. I told her what happened last night and she text me back. She told me what to do and say and BAMB!! It felt like I poured Drain-O in a clogged sink. Wooosh! They sell tarot cards, incense, herbs, crystals, a variety of statues (I was pleasantly surprised to see not only the usual pagan and Christian statues, but also statues for Vodou/Santeria, Norse deities and Greek deities). The shop felt very inclusive of all different magical traditions. They offer a lot of beginner books, green witchcraft books, and titles on deity and ancestor veneration as well as folk magic. While they have a few popular tarot decks, they carried more unique tarot/oracle decks than I've seen at most metaphysical shops. So you might find something here that you won't see at other shops. They also carry runes, magic oils, different types of magic candles, as well as magic powders and rice specifically for rootwork and conjure. I was actually very impressed that they offered rootwork items as that is something I rarely see outside of a botanica or specialty shop and I did not expect to see anything like that outside of Seattle since I've heard Washington is a bit more conservative than California. Avebury Myatikals is a small store, but they have a lot of items for such a little shop. The owner and staff were super welcoming and inclusive. One of the employees also has a beautiful gray cat that hangs out at the shop! Since this store is very Craft-focused, you're not going to find general spirituality books here. It is heavily-oriented toward witches, root workers, tarot/rune readers, and those who love crystals. It's not one of those one-size-fits-all metaphysical shops that will cater to yoga, holistic medicine, energy healing, angels as well as magic items.
