While anxiously wandering around Pike's Place (ha!), I found this little refuge. I've been undergoing and small rock and mineral phase--hello, elementary school me!--so this shop was a perfect place to drop all my souvenir money. The owner was incredibly kind and opened the glass doors of display cases for me to take a closer look at things, which lead me to purchasing the two beauties below. At purchase, I asked him to write down the names and origins on the back of my receipt so I wouldn't somehow forget their respective info. Their prices were high for someone on my budget, but at least I knew they weren't grown in a lab. You could tell the owner is truly passionate about procuring stones and sharing his love of them--I felt like I had really delighted him by obtaining these "treasures" from his collection and adding them to my own. :) read more

Gem Heaven has an amazing collection of crystals and jewelry, and my experience with the customer service was exceptional! It's a "gem" (pun intended) of Pike Place Market, and I will certainly stop by Gem Heaven during my next trip. Around 5pm at Pike Place Market most of the business had either closed up shop or were going to. Gem Heaven was one of the few businesses still open during this time, which was really awesome for me anyway because I love crystal shops and metaphysical supply stores. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but hey, synchronicity happens. I found a crystal carving of a frog (my current animal totem) in unakite jasper. I ended up not purchasing the crystal frog though, because I convinced myself that I have way too many crystals already and didn't need a new one. The following day, I flew back home to SJC but just could not get the crystal frog off my mind! Should've listened to my gut and bought it when I had the chance. And, of course, when I looked up the crystal healing properties of unakite jasper there was no wonder I felt very called to it. After I had my "a-ha!" moment I called Gem Heaven and asked Jim, the store's proprietor, if he'd be able to mail the frog to me. Jim was so kind and agreed to it, and he made the whole transaction process so easy. I made the payment with him over the phone, and then he shipped my order the next business day. I received the frog earlier than expected with no issues during shipment. The frog was packaged very well and came in flawless condition. read more

Gem Heaven is a rock store with all of your rock, geode, fossil and crystal needs from large to miniature. The owner is full of geology knowledge and is very helpful and truly interested in his craft. I received a Christmas gift from this store 7 years ago but hadn't been inside. I've always loved rocks and while playing tourist in the market yesterday, made a beeline for this store. It's small in square footage but huge on its supply. They have everything from ammonite fossils that are millions of years old to shark teeth to a four foot tall amethyst geode to tiny pieces of rock from all over the world. The owner travels the globe to find treasures to sell and add to his private collection. Each item has a tag with what that rock is known for, where its from, the history (if any) and healing properties for those that believe in that. While I was looking around with my boyfriend, the owner approached us and asked us to let him know if we needed anything or had any questions. The store was really busy and many people were asking questions, making purchases and just admiring the beauty and uniqueness of the rocks. This would be a great place to visit while at the market, especially for kids. I collect geodes and will be returning to add to my collection. read more

It was the end of the day and I was spent having walked around the market center for hours and hours. All I wanted was food and to go home. And then something magical happened. I stumbled upon this gem shop. It felt really good in there. So I stayed around checking out all their gems. I asked a couple questions and both the owner and other person working there are incredibly knowledgeable. This gem store has been around for 14 years! And they really care about what they do. That is apparent. And maybe that is why the gems feel good. It's cute that they put the qualities of the gems on the price card. And that they tell where they are from, which is common but still. In order to find their location, you have to go down a few levels in the market place. It is totally worth a visit so if you can't find it ask another store. read more

I did some research before visiting Pike's Place Market if there were any crystal shops, and came across this one. It wasn't too hard to find, it was on one of the lower levels across from a bunch of cardboard cutouts (is that Bob Ross??!) Entering the store was such a welcome break from the crowds of Pikes Place, it is a little on the smaller side, but that's how most shops in Pikes Place are anyways. The employee, Austin, that was working the front counter was super friendly and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him and learning some fun new crystal facts. Ended up purchasing a couple new crystals for my collection, and the prices were comparable to any other crystal shop I've been to. Overall it was a great experience, and I'd love to come back to visit the next time I'm in the Seattle area! :) read more

Super nice business owner, but some of the fossils are completely overpriced. I got my first couple of fossils from him and recently got them valued. Paid a total of 560 for what should've been 80 dollars worth. Not sure he knew their value either. Do your research on market value before you regret any purchases. read more

I read about this little shop in a book about crystal healing .. as I had an upcoming trip to Seattle I knew I had to check it out. I spent a lot of time browsing the various crystals and speaking with the owner of the shop who is so pleasant !! While he doesn't have a website for us out of towners, he did give me his business card with his email address for contact and ships merchandise. Such a cute shop, so many quality crystals. There is beauty in the stones: No, I'm not talking about "The Stones", as in The Rolling Stones, one of our favorite jowly classic rock bands of yesteryear and today. I'm talking gemstones here, the kind of which you'll find in one of Seattle's best kept secrets. My wife told me of Gem Heaven at the Pike Place Market a few years ago and one day she took me there. I was first astounded at the size, rich color, and quality of their amethyst crystals but then to my amazement, she introduced me to a large sphere made of labradorite (Yeah, I spelled it right and no, it didn't bark at me. Take your medicine!) In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful and mysterious stones I've ever seen (See example picture for the business). You turn it, the light catches it and you see a glowing area of color and sometimes more than one area. Ours shows blue on one side and greenish yellow on the other. It's like looking into a different universe or something. Beautiful! Gem Heaven gets their labradorite stones from Madagascar. They have a wonderful and affordable collection of silver jewelry pieces adorned with all kinds of gemstones including labradorite (Bark bark bark bark! Hey, quiet down, now! Good stone!). One Christmas, I bought a pair of labradorite earrings for my wife and they became her instant favorites. Now, I'm not superstitious or into new age or any of that (Hang on, throwing salt over my shoulder), but I do appreciate the natural beauty and wonder of a good stone and I strongly recommend checking this place out. I came here with my mother, and nephews. My nephews behave by the way, and are very respectful and don't touch anything. My nephew ended up buying a rock here. The man at the register was very unfriendly and gave off negative vibes. My nephew was excited to get a new gemstone and that bitter man just ruined the moon. I told my mother to not buy anything. You might think a joint in Pike Place is gonna be a tourist trap, but these guys are legit. I bought a long, black tourmaline healing rod. The price was fair, and man does this crystal do the trick! Every bro that I've held sessions with has gotten just as healed as I have. We don't do a lot of touching with the crystal, just looking at it, each doing their own thing. I stumbled upon this place "by accident" while I was looking for Tenzing Momo (my reveiw of that will come later), and I was a little lost as it was my first time at the Pike Place Market. Upon entering, I was greeted by the friendly staff, who also told me to let her know if I had any questions. This store truly is, a "Gem Heaven." They have just about any gem or precious stone that you can think of, and if they don't, they have a little "Wish List Notebook" where you can leave your information and the items that you wish to see in the store, and they will contact you as soon as they get them in stock. I had never been in a store like this before (one that solely specializes in stones and crystals), and for my first time in such a store, I ended up spending two whole hours inside. The staffmember on duty was very friendly and answered all my questions, both relating to the crystals and stones and just metaphysical topics in general. This store should definitely go on your list if you are a practicioner of the Craft or if you're interested in metaphysical topics; it should be able to answer most of your crystals and stones needs. I know it's definitely one of the three places that I absolutely must visit whenever I go to Seattle. read more

They wanted to charge me 45 dollars for a tiny piece of tourmaline that I could normally get from a metaphysical store or a whole sale supplier for 10-15 bucks. Shocked at the nerve to rip people off like that. Their rocks and crystals are way overpriced. go elsewhere. read more

The owner was very unfriendly and very obviously suspicious of me and my fiance (we both are not White, don't want to pin it on that but... that's the only thing I can assume since both my partner and I clearly have money to spend..) Called this establishment about 15 minutes before closing to confirm location, since it was somewhat difficult to find in the mall. The owner, presumably, informed me that he was closing up shop rather than answering my question about location. I have been coming to this store for a few years now. This will probably be my last time visiting. Over the last three years, I've watched how downtown Seattle and its shops have changed. This store has very little competition downtown and it shows. The prices are inflated and the stones are tiny chips. This is a great tourist stop (trap) at best. You would do better ordering online and save yourself the aggravation. Some days turn into weeks that they don't bother to adhere to the posted office hours. The owner travels extensively to collect the stones for the store. Yes, there are some rare finds to be found here occasionally. But those rarities are far and few between. And totally not worth the time or effort. read more

Son went to Seattle to visit his grandparents. Spent the day in downtown and wandered into the shop. He purchased a crystal worth 75 dollars. The guy said that he would mail the crystal home for my son. A month and half later..no crystal. Called the guy and guy claims that he had no record of the sale. Can only assume that the guy lied to my kid and ripped him off. Dispise liars and thieves. Buyer beware. read more

While visiting Seattle I was ecstatic to have found this place. I've been looking for a shop that sells big pieces of Amber for awhile. The girl working there was an absolute doll and completely helpful, she took time to tell me all she could about the pieces and did so well with multitasking the multiple people.
