TLDR: Erin at Seattle Diamonds was able to create a ring that NO OTHER JEWELER COULD, and she did it within my budget! Here is the full story of my ring buying journey and how Erin at Seattle Diamonds came through where no other retailer could. I always do my homework when making a big purchase, so I started off shopping around and hitting up all the major chain retailers like Shane Co. and Jared's, etc. My future fiancé an I picked out a 3 stone style that we absolutely loved. However, I noticed a troubling trend where the larger, center stone often looked shadowed and darker than the side stones. This really bothered me, however, I continued to be told that this was just how this style of rings would work. I then took my search online to Whiteflash, thinking that they could better help me match the diamonds and that would solve the problem. However, I was ALSO told by them that this was just the nature of these three stone settings, and I would just have to settle for the center stone looking shadowed if I went with this setting. My future fiancé and I talked it over and decided that we would go with a solitaire setting instead. However, this took us back to square one with ring and setting styles. This is what brought us to Seattle Diamonds and how we met Erin. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that this wasn't a normal retail space, however, it was a beautiful, high-end office and Erin immediately set our mind at ease. She was friendly and easy to talk to and really made us feel welcomed. She showed us many settings and picked out a beautiful solitaire setting. However, over the course of chatting with her, we mentioned the three stone setting that we loved and the problem we had with the center stone being shadowed. Erin was shocked that we'd had such problems as she'd never heard of this problem before. I couldn't stop thinking about her reaction, even after we left and eventually emailed her further about it. I decided to try one more time to see if I could make this ring style work. Erin was AMAZING! She found a beautiful setting that was within our budget. She brought in loose diamonds to try until we found ones that matched and didn't create that "shadowed" look. I was blown away. After that, I paid a deposit on the rings, and then waited. Erin emailed me a 3D rendering proof for my approval, which I gave because they looked amazing. Then it was time to wait. These rings aren't just cookie-cutter "I have a empty band and setting on hand and we just pop the diamonds in and go". They are quality made to order and take some time. As they say with the "unattainable triangle": You have quality, price, and speed. You get two out of the three-but never all three. I picked the rings up about three weeks after approving the proofs and they were absolutely stunning. I couldn't be happier and on top of that, I got to surprise my (now) fiancé with the ring of dreams rather than the solitaire setting we were settling for. Seattle Diamonds is so easy to work with. I had a very pleasant experience installing a setting to a pearl. I made a call and scheduled an appointment on the second day. The store is located on the first floor of an apartment and it's in the same plaza with whole food, FedEx, and Xfinity. If you can't find the entrance, just give them a call. Natalya was super nice and picked me up. They have various selections of settings for a pearl on the manual for me to check and pick. Natalya was patient enough to sit me through the whole process, help me make decision and get price quote. At the end of the appointment, I was able to pick the setting. Throughout the whole process, Natalya was very friendly and not pushy at all - she friendly suggested I get a necklace for the pendant. I left my contact information and about a month later, I got a text message from Natalya saying the pendant is ready. I picked up the pendant and it is gorgeous! I heart this place. I first found them in 2007 when they were located downtown. Erin helped me design a wedding band to go with my engagement ring. I shopped around to a few other places that would make a platinum diamond wedding band, and this place was the most reasonable. Erin provided excellent customer service, and a year and a half later, I still absolutely love my wedding ring set. They look like a perfect match for each other. Recently, I wanted to have my prongs and diamonds checked on both e-ring and wedding band. Apparently, you're supposed to have this done annually to protect them from wear and tear. Oops.. Anywho, a year and a half had gone by since, but Erin remembered me and had the maintenance done on my rings, complimentary!! It's been awhile since I got my engagement and wedding bands from Seattle Diamonds, but I can't say enough good things about Mary who helped us put them together. We looked at rings for a very long time and finally decided on a very simple but specific ring by a designer that wasn't carried in our city. Seattle Diamonds was the nearest dealer, and I felt hopeful after reading a good review. So we drove the 3 hours up to Seattle to visit with Mary who opened the office that weekend, by appointment. Mary was wonderful and very patient. She made us feel comfortable and like she cared about getting every detail right. Even when we announced that we were decided she threw out a few more design comparisons, and I ended up going with one of them, so I'm grateful she persisted! She has an enthusiasm for what she does, and for working with customers, that really shines. My ring turned out amazing. However, there was a very subtle design feature missing, on the designer's end (it was so subtle that I almost was not going to mention it), so we ended up sending it back to be redone. Mary was encouraging throughout, even as I was growing antsy about getting my new ring : ) She kept me hopeful, and when the ring was finally done it was better than ever, and had been custom made by the designer. So I emailed Seattle Diamonds to inquire about a ring for my girlfriend on their website. I recently purchased an engagement ring from these folks and I don't think I could say enough good things about my experience with Gemological Trading Cop. First and foremost I want to talk about Mary. She was nothing short of amazing. I was not working with a huge budget but she always made me feel like I was the most important person client she had. My buying process took a few months and she was very patient with me and by the time we were done she was more involved in the process of proposing as any friend or family member was.
