We bought our wedding bands from Sholdt this past Spring and were very glad to have done so! They did an awesome job on both bands and thought their hours were a bit inconvenient for our schedule it was really great getting to meet with Kalee one on one and see our options versus being in a crowded jewelry store. The shop dog, Pearl, is also really sweet and it just ads an element of comfort to what's normally, in my opinion, an awkward experience. Because we had bought my fiancee's engagement ring elsewhere and it had a half band of channel set diamonds Kalee promised that they could match it so that both bands line up. My now-wife was so excited when she got it that she didn't notice that the Sholdt band was a few diamonds short. So she sent Kalee a message a few months later about it and we got a reply the next day that it was no problem. Even though Kalee was out of town she had the woman covering for her take care of it and a week later it was fixed up and perfect for no additional charge. This is the kind of business I love to shop with: Small, family-owned, with personal, attentive customer service. A friend of mine recommended Sholdt to me when I mentioned I still have my old wedding and engagement rings, sitting in a drawer for years. Such a waste, but you can't really wear the rings when you no longer have the spouse that came with them. So, I made an appointment with Dara and brought a handful of diamonds and sapphires to see what she might be able to do. There was a surprising amount of emotion attached to the rings, even all these years later, but Dara was patient as I considered all the options: they have a lot of settings, and the options expand exponentially when you add in the custom possibilities. In the end, I settled on a pendant - a slightly modified version of a design they make and sell, but modified for the specific stones I had to use. It took about two months to make, but Dara got right back to me when I emailed to check in, and the pendant was done within a couple of days of the expected date. It was even more beautiful than expected, and I love having it and wearing it! Good gems should be worn, not stuck in a drawer, collecting dust and tarnish. I'm super happy with the pendant, and excited to have found someone to work with - I have a lot of out of date gems sitting in a drawer, and in the process of creating this piece, came up with a lot of ideas for updating those as well. Sholdt provided the design to my engagement ring! After visiting four Front Range local jewelers in my state (CO), I knew what ring styles I DIDN'T think matched my personality, style, and hand. When I told the sales rep at Johannes Hunter Jewelers in Colorado Springs the types I felt I was leaning towards (simple yet different and non-traditional) but had not stumbled across the right one, she steered my attention to a case containing a small selection of Sholdt rings. As soon as I saw them, I knew immediately that Sholdt was the designer I wanted to work with. Modern yet not too modern, sleek and clean with organic lines and enough uniqueness to put them above the other brands, I loved all the Sholdts! But one stood out among the others. However, before committing, we went home to check Sholdt's website to discover the possibilities. Wow, we were impressed! Not just with the variety of the selection, but also with their small, family-owned company, history, and their approach to jewelry making. The more I read, the more I loved the idea of wearing one of their beautiful pieces. Only one other Colorado jeweler carries the Sholdt brand, so we paid a visit to Williams Jewelers in Denver to see what other rings were offered. I fell in love with a different Sholdt here! Though this was a solitaire and the original one had stones in the channel, both were similar in their flowing aesthetics. Impossible decision, I felt, but I knew I'd be thrilled to own either Sholdt. After two weeks of trying to decide which ring I wanted to wear for the rest of my life, I finally told my fiancé the choice was in his hands. Three months later, he presented to me the original ring I had picked from JHJ. JHJ had sent the diamond to Seattle, and Sholdt did a lovely job setting the stone into the chosen design. The unique design, the quality of work and friendly and accommodating staff - they are by far my favorite wedding vendor. Let me start by saying that I found their rings to be beautiful and unique. They have a good selection of styles and all of their rings, from the classic solitaires to art-deco inspired, have some interesting design details. I really enjoyed working them. I was in their store couple of times before purchasing the ring since I wanted a stone that is different from your standard diamond. Kalee was great - ordering different stones and emailing me photos until I found the stone that I love. Sholdt is an old-line Seattle jeweler that custom fabricates wedding sets and other jewelry and also does repairs. I've taken several rings and other things to them for years to get sized and/or repaired, and also admired the jewelry they make that sells in stores. Just gorgeous designs! Love, love, love these people. They're always so friendly and helpful and their work is well-priced. No snooty jewelry store ambience here! But the best part is their craftsmanship. These folks know what they're doing, and it shows. Great on-time work every time. I'd absolutely trust them and have trusted them. They rebuilt my delicate antique engagement ring. No chance of the diamonds falling out now! One thing to know: they're located on the back side of the old Rainier Brewing Company building. You drive up a curving driveway off East Marginal Way. The ring we ordered looks exactly like we wanted. So they did great on that end but it was too large. Due to how elaborate it was I had to pay to get it resized. Which I completely understood. Then when I got the ring back it was still too large and through the emails with them they kept blaming me for it. When I asked my options they told me i would once again have tip pay more to get it fixed. When i emailed them about this I never heard back from them. That was a month and a half ago. My fiancee and I picked out my engagement ring here and I can't be happier with the service, design process, and final product. I'm an interior designer and my fiancee is an architect, so we both were very picky up the aesthetic and details, but didn't know much about band materials, types and cuts of stones, etc. We used one of Sholdt's designs as a base point, and then made our own customizations. Jessica was extremely friendly, patient with our pickiness, attentive, and knowledgeable. I felt that I could ask her any question without being treated like I was dumb- absolutely no snobbishness here. The pricing seemed fair, especially considering the level of service, crafstmanship, and quality. 3D drawings, stone samples, and a wax mold were all provided for my fiancee's approval prior to making the ring.
