My friend and I each chose the 2.2mm curb chain in silver ($80) with an 3mm 14k white gold gemstone ($100) for our bracelets. Once you choose the bracelets, it's a super quick process for them to zap it on. I'm so happy with our experience at Silver + Salt. I am not permanently iced up, no goin' back now. We found this place because of Tik Tok, and apparently so had everyone else. We walked in thinking we could just get bracelets same day, we were very wrong. They were so booked out because of the new rush, that we had to schedule out online, which was a little tough with our schedules. We walked in and there wasn't anyone there, but we were still turned away, which was a bummer since we drove quite a way for this, but I'm sure they have to turn a lot of people away to respect those with appointments. I went in knowing which chain I wanted, until I tried them on in person. There were so many great ones to choose from, especially when my boyfriend noticed the person who was helping us on had a black chain, which was not one of the options presented, and he told us we could oxidize the silver chain options to make them black. So not only are there silver, rose gold and yellow gold options, but there is the hidden oxidized silver (black) option! I could tell my boyfriend wasn't 100% happy with the chain choices, until they happily offered to oxidize his, and now he loves his chain! I'd been looking specifically for a Rose Gold Paperclip chain bracelet and found this place online and fell in love! Typically, I find stores never actually carry rose gold in store so I ordered my desired chain online for store pickup, just to be safe. They called me the next day and told me my order was ready! There were plenty of reservations available later in the same week online; however, when they opened at noon on Monday, I gave them a call to see if they had anything available same day. The woman on the phone asked for some details-- I was coming alone and just wanted the Infinity Bracelet I'd already purchased welded so she advised me to come later in the afternoon and they'd be able to squeeze me in. Upon arriving around 3:30, not only did the woman recognize my voice and our conversation, but they were able to get my bracelet done right then! My artist (I think her name was Laura!) was sooo awesome. We were chatting like old buddies about jewelry and life and she made an already awesome experience even better. I was observing some of her rings and the rings on her station and turns out they can make the chains into rings as well! Laura mentioned she had some time left if I wanted one of those too, so I ended up with a cable chain ring also. Everyone here is super friendly - we were able to take a look at all the chain offerings ahead of our infinity bracelet appointment. I wish I caught her name, but she went through every single option and included pricing which I appreciated. This was our group's second time getting bracelets at Silver + Salt (our first experience was at their old building and we absolutely loved it!). Two of us got bracelets and it took all of 2-minutes? It takes the most time picking out which chain you'd like (they have a ton of options!), and sizing it to make sure it's perfect. I like that our welder took his time suggesting where it sat. I didn't feel rushed at all and was able to feel like it was super personalized and made for a good experience. One of us got an anklet (this is fairly new but such a cute idea!) - more or less the same process but you sit on a different higher chair and they have a little stool you put your foot on for the welding. Excellent customer service and beautiful pieces. But do NOT believe anything they claim about ethically sources materials. My pet peeve about companies is big claims they cannot backup. We had a consultation for a custom engagement ring that wouldve had a unique stone. The girl we met with was VERY friendly, helpful and we were excited. I was especially excited because it is important to me that my ring be ethically sourced and recycled metals are used. I asked her how they verify their gems are ethically sourced and I remember receieving a very vague, general response that didn't quite answer my question. But I trusted them anyway since it seems to be something they advertise openly on their website. With it being a stone that isn't super common, she had to get back to me regarding cost. A few days later I received an email showing a photo attachment of the stones they could source. Upon quick research, I discovered the stones they were showing me were directly from an Etsy listing. EXACT same picture. A $16 stone, she said would cost $100. (I get it, they need to mark it up...) It came from Jaipur, India, and absolutely NO possible way to verify where the mine is or how people sourcing it are treated. I immediately got suspicious and asked if they have connections with this vendor and how they verify the labor practices. I received no response since then, and absolutely no follow up regarding my custom ring project. Be. Very. Wary. It is too good to be true. Maybe this company started out using recycled metals or tried sourcing ethical stones, but this "shortcut" really showed me their true colors. Their stuff is beautiful, but is it worth it? To support a company that openly lies and profits off of fake claims that they are "doing the right thing"? Absolutely not.
