Amazing customer service! Michelle is an absolute star! She made great suggestions and observations. She warned me that a cute pair of shoes would be too tight in toes. She was right of course so the darling red shoes are there for someone with narrow feet! I have wide flat feet. She suggested other shoes that look fantastic and fit! She and Kevin have helped me several times find correctly fitting shoes, inserts and socks. Kevin was able to help my boyfriend who is currently experiencing swollen feet as an after effect of surgery. He suggested certain socks which do not strangle feet and are comfortable. They know how to fit shoes. There's also another lady there that has alot of experience fitting customers to shoes. She is very nice and makes good suggestions. All of the staff know how to fit customers. I prefer buying from them rather than online retailers for even the same products as these knowledgeable folks spend time fitting customers and I like my $ going into the local economy rather than online retail. Walked into the new Becks on July 25th and was immediately greeted by the manager who asked if I needed any help, which doesn't happen much anymore and that was a great start. I was looking for a shoe that wasn't in stock in my size and instead of trying to sell me something else before leaving he said can I see if it's available at one of our other stores and ship it here for you? I said that would be great, he checked and within a minute said I can have it here in about 5-7 days. I said great. Two days later he called and said it's here and I came in tried it on and picked it up, exactly what I ordered with zero hassle. Went to Harrison's to take a look at some boots I saw they had advertised on line. Was like a old time shoe store actually measured your feet and put the boots on. Takes you back to the good old days when merchants actually cared. Also they had some good old time lemon drops at the counter. Will definitely be back. read more

Go here and ask for Ron Parmenter he'll do you right. The store has the usual brands of up-market walking shoes for women and men but the REAL difference is the **customer service.** I walked in, looked around, took my shoes off and started to try on a pair of shoes that I liked the look of. Ron saw me from across the room and proceeded to tell me (in no minced words) all about my feet and why those shoes weren't going to work for me. HUH?! A shoe salesman talking me OUT of a pair of shoes AND dissin my feet at the same time? When he was finished with the customer he was helping he brought me a couple of shoes and had me try them on. He watched me walk, asked me about my shoe habits, and began educating me about my feet before I was even finished telling him my story. Turns out he wasn't dissin my feet at all, he actually cared about them and wanted to make sure they were happy feet. So I just met the shoe magician with his own crystal ball who divines pedi-mation. WOW! One of the pairs of shoes he had me try on wasn't really my style but was one of the best fitting shoes my feet have known. The second pair of pretty comfort shoes (Wolky) I fell in love with. My feet were in heaven and the shoes I walked in wearing were going straight to hell. I talked with Ron about sneakers and got educated about THAT and bought a pair of Brooks. Best sneakers I've ever owned and I cannot believe how much improved my posture is, how much better my back feels, and how much longer I can be active on my feet in absolute comfort. I visited Beck's Shoes (formerly Harrison's Shoes) 1/3/23 after speaking with Caleb on the phone about what I was needing. Caleb could not have been more personable, helpful and thoughtful to my foot issues suggesting various shoes & sandals that could help my problem. He was excellent at guiding me to the right type of shoe and knew a lot about what he sells! I was impressed with his knowledge. When we found my size was not available he continued to support my quest by recommending some other items that could help me interim, like theraputic socks and a massage ball which I promptly bought. If you have plantar fasciitis you must try Feetures Socks made for that condition. They are remarkable! Within 24 hours my foot feels so much better! My podiatrist recommended Harrison's Shoes for orthotics. I went in and discussed my needs with the owner; he had me pre-pay for my orthotics, which I thought odd but did so. When I received them 2 weeks later, they were not what I had ordered. The owner was very rude, when I expressed my disappointment and refused to modify or even discuss my concerns. I do not recommend this store as customer service is the least of their concerns. The sales clerks were very kind and obviously embarrassed by the owner's behavior. read more
