Hire pressure sales tactics wasted my time and money. I wanted to get a pair of Brooks Beast sneakers to replace my current pair. I had gotten the previous pair from Sole Perfection so I went back there. They didn't have any available in my size (Mens 12.5 EE). But rather than offer to order the pair, the sales clerk raved about Hoka Transport. The width felt snug, but it was close enough that I bought it. 2 months later the inside heel had already started wearing out, leading to the hard plastic painfully poking into my heel. Sole Perfection offered to replace it as a warranty replacement and told me they had another in my size. So I made the trip there only to find they didn't have my size, only 12.5 D. So I left empty handed. A week later, they had the right size, but it was a different color. Not a problem for me, so I go back a 3rd time. But I could barely get my feet in because of how much they pinched the sides of my feet. The sales clerk assured me it would take a day or 2 to adjust. Nope, just as painful as ever. So I'm just going to order a pair of Brooks Beasts from Amazon. I'm stuck with my basically unwearable pair of Hokas and I'm out nearly $200. I'm upset at Hoka for making crappy quality shoes. And I'm upset at Sole Perfection for not listening to me when I said what brand of sneaker I wanted to buy. Dec 9 edit - I will raise my review to 2 stars. I have plantar fasciitis and my podiatrist gave a list of stores to shop for good supportive shoes and this place was one of them so I went here. A young woman clerk was not very helpful at all. I had a very sore low back at the time and I was struggling to bend over while sitting to get the shoes on. She just stood cross legged and leaned on the wall watching me struggle. It took me quite a while to get them on but she did not budge. What happened to the days when the salesclerk actually helped put your shoes on and even tied the laces? After a disdainful glance at my current shoes (which admittedly had no support and were clearly exacerbating the problem), an associate made several suggestions and I tried on several pairs of each until I found the shoe that made my feet feel as though they were walking on clouds. The store is quite busy and I can see why. The selection is good and the prices not ridiculous. The staff is super helpful and only slightly judgey about sub par shoes. I got the shoes I needed, however, from the moment I walked into the shop, I felt like I was an inconvenience to the gentleman helping me. There were two people working at the time, one was already with a customer. The man who helped me, measured my foot to a size smaller than I have worn for years. Surprise surprise the shoes he brought out did not fit. They had a nice variety of shoes and brands on the walls to view. I was looking for something specific per my doctor. And this seemed to upset the person helping me. I found shoes that fit, gave me the support I needed, and purchased them. Yes I could go back, but probably won't. Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon to just pick up some shoe inserts. Was recommended this store by my foot doctor, so expected a good experience. Came in and found only two people working, one helping one customer and the other employee helping two elderly customers. Was welcomed by one employee, him yelling across the room, "be with you soon". Looked around while I waited, and waited. The elderly customers had boxes and shoes all around them, on the floor and on chairs. They clearly were going need a lot more time and help. There were no free chairs to sit in to wait, guess they removed them for spacing? Have an obvious knee and foot injury, so sure, I can stand. When the other employee was finally free, the customer who came in behind me at the same time was immediately helped! Just wanted to get the inserts and get out, so went over to the inserts to check out a particular brand. The employee that failed to help me next, pops over to me, as they are getting shoes for the customer they wanted to help next and says, "oh, you can take the inserts out of the box and try them out", and then he zips away. I was thinking, "what, open the box and try them out?" I have never seen a store where they allow you to open the boxes and try them on. They usually have a left insert sample for you to try on. That is so unsanitary- what if people try on several and put them back in incorrectly, or have dirty hands, or foot diseases? If they are encouraging people to do this I certainly don't want inserts from here- I would have to disinfect them first! Decided to just leave- waste of time. Will certainly let my doctor know of the unsanitary issues. Suggestions: Have more than 2 employees working in a store where orthopedic shoes and inserts are sold. You can't get much better than a shoe store where the employees first measure both of your feet, then watch you walk to determine the design of shoes that would best suit you. They carry a number of brands with the models selected to optimize comfort and healthy feet. I didn't see any stiletto heels or anything outlandish or overpriced. Their approach was effective. When I went there the bones in my feet were aching from taking long hikes in cheap shoes (should have known better). The first pair of good hiking shoes the lady put on me made my feet say YES!! I bought them and another dressier pair, total for both around $200. This is not a cheap outlet store but hey, these are my feet we're talking about. You get what you pay for and I did. Great service! I recently got my first pair of Drew shoes elsewhere and called to see if they carry Drews. They did, and were so helpful over the phone I could not believe it. Such a great experience with The owner and his team!! My husband is a mechanic with very large/wide feet. Finding comfortable shoes for him is virtually impossible. They scanned his feet to see where the pressure points were, and my husband ended up finding three pairs that work for him! He suggested some great insoles as well that helped the shoes feel even more comfortable. We had our two little boys with us and everyone was so patient and understanding as we tried in shoes. I purchase shoes from Sole Perfection a few times a year, but when I purchased a new pair of Birkenstocks 3 weeks ago that needed to be ordered, I didn't know that the whole world would be closing because of COVID-19! As others have noted this store first measures your feet, then watches you walk to see if there are any problems, then use a machine to determine if you need arch support. I will add they took the time to find a pair my teenager was OK with even though he was clueless about what he wanted. They also somehow manage to juggle several customers at once without letting anyone feel ignored. I was referred to this shoe store from my podiatrist. I purchased two pairs of shoes and some inserts in a period of about 3 months spending a significant amount of money. After wearing one of the pairs of shoes for about 2 months, the soles had worn almost completely down and one of the velcro straps would no longer hold correctly. I have never had this happen with a pair of shoes and when I tried to return them, they insinuated that it was something I had done to the shoes, and would not replace them. Very frustrating and bad customer service. If they had treated me differently, I probably would have returned. Now I will tell people NOT to go there and call my podiatrist as well. read more

Being a person that travels by bus I was happy to find out they are on a bus route accessible from where I live. The doc gave me some guidelines for brand and size, was happy to find some but not all he recommended. I bought shoes then decided I'd rather have hiking boots they don't have in stock, meanwhile I saw a pair of sandals that really are comfy so the friendly clerk exchanged them. My husband has bought shoes at Sole Perfection in Federal Way several times and always had great service. We did not have this same experience at the Shoreline store. We arrived at the store 10 minutes before they closed and upon entering were immediately told by the sales clerk that they were closing in a few minutes and he needed to get out of there and so he would not be able to help us. We were not dissuaded as we just needed to pick a similar pair to what he was wearing and just buy them in his size and we knew we could accomplish that in less than 10 minutes. We proceeded to look at the shoes and this same salesman came back over to us and said again he would not be able to help us since he was closing soon. I told him we just needed to see if he had the shoe we had chosen in the size we needed. He quickly ran to the back and then came right back and said he did not have that size. I am sure he did not even look because he came back so fast. Based on this interaction and his behavior we just turned and left. We could understand if we were beyond the closing time but the store was still open for 10 minutes and so we at least thought we could make a simple transaction as my husband did not even need to be measured or try the shoe on. Will never be back! Beware if you don't have the whole afternoon so the salesman won't fret that he might be held up..... read more
