What was once a coat factory is now a glorified Value Village--a second hand store with a lot of square footage. I had not been out here in a while and was looking for a winter coat in summer, having envisioned miles of aisles of coats. I was wrong. There is no coat factory any more, just an out-of-the-way store full of things you don't really need. I was really disappointed. I was looking for a store that I could go into to buy a coat rather than shop online, because I wanted to try my new would-be coat on. I'm a big man with a 58" chest and it is hard to find a nice coat in my size. And I'm loathe to go downtown and overpay. So I guess the deal is you have to wait for winter to buy winter coats so they can charge you more. At least one or two coats that are on sale in my size. But not at Burlington. When I hear that name I think of trains roaring through Golden Gardens. They do have a massive parking lot though. read more

I was mistreated by the security guard. I could not find what I wanted. I didn't see any other employees, so I asked the security guard if there was someone that could help me. She said there was not. Surprised by the lack of proper attitude towards a customer, I asked again. She said, "They have their jobs to do". I told her that I will buy my shoes elsewhere. It's was so wonderful to be back at to Burlington. After I had left the east coast. I thought I would never see another Burlington again. I thought I was wrong about that but now I'm just not going anywhere else because I have found the Burlington area to go on my own! Let me tell you about the selection of Burlington in clothing was phenomenal too many to choose from brand names dressed for the special occasion like wedding to celebrate the anniversary and birthday in which we are looking for! As we are looking for the perfect outfit as well as the best price tag that you could possibly afford to pay!!! I love to shop in Burlington. I've been looking somewhere else for the past couple of years but the prices are too high. The Burlington store was great for me because it has the selection was so much cheaper than any other store!! This branch of the Burlington was very questionable on the outside and the inside of the store was dirty and messy the service was unacceptable they were rude and had a bad attitude towards me. The selection of the merchandise was very slime. The value of the customer service was very poor the entire store needs to retrained on the value of customer service. They have a decent selection of each category of items - if you can refrain from looking down at the floor riddled with stains. Would it be that hard to get a new floor? Maybe laminate? The greeter at the door was nice and helpful and then I only saw one store associate on the floor the entire rest of the time I was here. I had previously been once before to look for winter coats a decade ago. The store seems about in the same shape as it was then. The racks/aisles could use a reorg and if there were employees floating around the store maybe there wouldn't be so many items on the floor or in the wrong place. The fitting rooms are currently closed and there is exactly one bench in the corner by the womens' fitting room area if you find shoes you want to try on. There's not a lot of rhyme or reason to the layout of the store so you just kind of have to go down every aisle and see what there is to see. I found lots of little treasures, including the best swim stuff for my friend's kiddo. This location is pretty much on par with an average Ross store with what looks like overstock from things that may have first gone to TJMaxx. Prices are low so it's a real treasure hunt. Warning, if there are heavy steppers at the vintage store on the second floor it is really annoying to be shopping in Burlington - think of the worst neighbors you could possibly have above you and that's what you'll hear..from the sounds of it they have hardwood floors, not carpet - Burlington should follow their lead! read more

I came to the Shoreline Burlington Coat Factory at 24111 Hwy 99 Edmonds, WA 98026 with my eleven year old to get her winter gear. While my daughter was trying on coats, an employee (see photo) yelled from across the store for us to 'hang all those coats up when you're done.' To have an employee yell at customers from across the store is unacceptable and rude. The statement to hang the coats back up was unnecessary. We had been trying on coats for awhile and had put everything back immediately after trying it on with the exception of two items; one picked out to purchase and one that was currently being tried on for a 2nd purchase. There were several other customers trying on clothing and bed wear in the racks next to us, white customers and not people of color like my daughter and I, and nothing was said to those customers about putting clothing back nor were they yelled at from across the store. When confronted about why she yelled at my daughter and I, the employee ran to hide in clothing racks. It took over 10 minutes for me to get the store manager, Fiona, called after asking other associates to call for her three separate times. It's a shame that my eleven year old and I can't even do something as simple as shop for basic winter necessities without being hit with racism and rudeness. Burlington - The Burlington employee after yelling at the only two customers of color - Department Stores Near Me - Edmonds, Washington

When I walked in the store every aisle had clothes all over the floor and hangers everywhere. I managed to find a couple things I liked in the rubble, and made my way to the registers where I found at least 30 people in line and one lady by herself billing people out one by one. I asked how she could be the only one to help. All these people and She said they didn't care they were busy. I looked around and saw a guy by the entrance playing on his phone oblivious to what was going on around him, I think he was the head of there effective security team. I like the items I had found so I reluctantly waited 45 more mins for the lady to get to me and ring me up. It didn't seem like anyone gave a Shit that there was a lArge look like. Extremely slow, really rude employees and the store looked like a tornado had ran thru it. I will not be returning to this location again, terrible overall experience read more

This is THE WORST place to shop. The "manager" profiles people and if she doesn't like u or thinks you have too much in your cart she will steal the cart when u are not looking. She stole my cart after she saw me pushing it at least 3 different times. She knew it was my cart and she stole it when I walked away briefly. I asked her for it back and she pretended not to know where it was. I said my purse was in it and I needed that cart back. She continued to act like she had no idea where my cart went. She tried to act like it wasn't her but when I started freaking out about my purse she walked away and came back a few mins later with my coat. I had to call the police and she refused to show me the cart with the clothes I was going to purchase. This is the second time she has just stolen my shopping cart and acted like she didn't know what happened to it. Im at a loss of what to say I had at least $300 dollars worth of clothing i planned to purchase. This lady is out of her mind and has lost hundreds of dollars in sales from just me alone. Not to mention the other people I know that she has kicked out FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON or refused to do business with for again no apparent reason. This is crazy that someone employed by a company like Burlington would act in such a way as to actually prevent the store from making money. It just doesn't make sense. If the company knew how much money they just lost in sales I dont think she would be working there. But then again who knows whats really going on there. read more

This store is SHOCKINGLY disgusting. In fact, it makes Value Village look like Oscar de la Renta. The only thing good about this Burlington Coat Factory location is the really cool antique store above them. My husband and I stopped in yesterday - he took about 10 steps into the store turned around and told me he'd wait in the car. I could not believe how filthy and just gross the entire store was - lets start with the shoe area. Barely any shoes on the rack - why? Because they were strewn all over the floor - so much so that you could not walk through the section without stepping on shoes or tripping over them. Carpet was filthy throughout the store and riddled with hundreds of gum stains. Clothes and toys scattered about - no rhyme or reason with regard to organization. I was looking at blouses and several were covered with foundation stains (at least I think it was makeup) and clothing covered the nasty carpet. I have never seen a more foul store - anywhere! It's sad because I remember shopping at this store 20 years ago, and it was a complete different experience. It was clean, organized, and I bought a bunch of baby items there. It was like a TJ Maxx or Marshalls and was taken care of. The only good thing about my visit was the very friendly security guard at the front door. I thought it was a little ironic that they cares about loss prevention based on how they take care of the store and merchandise. read more

I drove 30 minutes to the store and when I was getting out of my car the Loss Prevention man yells that they are closed. I got there at 9:30pm and the hours online state that they close at 11pm. I didn't understand what was going on as to why he was stating that they were closed. So I called the store and asked the lady that answered what time did they close at and she told me at 11pm. She also stated that they were closing because they were short staffed. That doesn't make any sense to me because the parking a lot was empty. Therefore they could've let the customers that we're waiting outside in to shop. I hate this store for the way they treated me and the other customers. I will never come back to this location. I used to work in a retail store in the city of Burlington (about 50 minutes north of Seattle,) and I can't tell you how often out-of-towners would come in and ask where the elusive "Burlington Coat Factory" was. So naturally when I moved to Shoreline and discovered it was near my house I had to stop in to see what all the fuss was about. Based on the television commercials I thought this place would be like a Ross or a TJ Maxx, but that is where it falls short. It's not like Ross or TJ Maxx, not even close. I'd actually probably buy things at R or TJM, but not here. Those places are more like actual stores, and this place looks like a damn garage sale, and not a good one either. The only part of this store really worth taking a gander at is the baby section. They have a good selection of cute baby clothes, baby furniture, strollers and everything you could need for a little bundle of (screaming) joy. Plus four stars for the baby section, but minus two for making me feel like I need a Lysol bath after I left the store. read more

I dread going into this store. I always hold out hope that they have improved things since the last time I went-- that is just never the case. If you need to go, allow plenty of time, considering this place is like entering a rummage sale. If you want to find anything, be prepared to sift through racks of things that are put in the wrong place or under the wrong size section. Baby Depot Pricing & Selection: OK * Mostly inexpensive prices for mostly cheap products. * As of 2012, they have a 20% off one item coupon if you sign up by email. * Don't buy "assemble yourself furniture" here, we went through multiple boxes of returns because multiple boxes of furniture were already BROKEN. Customer Service: FAIL * Customer service had us standing there for HOURS, no joke, HOURS in total time while they try to figure out "how to make the special order", "where to check the order", "how did it get lost", "how to re-order the order", "why was the re-order WRONG"!!! * My last visit was simply buying a baby registry item, it went "can't check registry items at the front, go to the back", "can't check registry items at the back now, I'll have the front do it", "can't do it, return the item then repurchase it." * There is no way to accurately describe the painful regret in a Yelp review. Too many of the cashiers don't have training to get the job done right. Local Baby Store Competitors: * Target = HUGE selection online, in store selection so-so depending on which location you go to. This is one of those outlet stores, sort of like Marshals, but offering a lot more in the way of selection. I started frequenting this place when my boyfriend got a job that required dress clothes and we were on a strict budget. Their clothing selection is massive, particularly in the men's department. There is a whole section dedicated to long-sleeved, button-up shirts. There are rows and rows of slacks, belts, socks, etc. I can't stress enough how huge their men's selection is. The prices are decent compared to what you would find in a department store. If you spend enough time wandering, you'll find good deals. We once picked up a dress shirt/tie combo pack for $9. They have many ties, all ranging from $7-$15, typically. Shirts are $15-20, sometimes a little higher in a rare case. Slacks are about $30. Since it is an outlet, be sure to check the quality of your items. Examine seams and buttons, make sure everything seems strong, well-made and in place. We had one pair of slacks recently fall apart; a seam on the leg gave out and the zipper broke, all on the same day. They were $20 pants. There is also a women's section, as well as household stuff, toys, etc. There are some good treasures to be found here. Just be sure to give your items a good looking over before buying, the return policy is 7 days, store credit only. read more

The women's shoe section probably has the best priced variety I've seen in the area and the kids section is even better! (After all, the spaghetti factory has spaghetti.) And, I'd been to the Burlington Coat Factory eons ago in the Boston area and remember it as being perfectly ok. Can't say the same about this one. Yesterday my fiance went into Burlington to look for a pair of shoes. This store is the closest to our home so we often shop here: together, by ourselves or as a family. The selection is hit or miss but occasionally like with any store we find something. When my fiance went in yesterday he went to look at the shoe selection as he needed a pair quickly and didn't have time to go to the mall or do an online order. His size of shoes is generally VERY limited. Thus... not finding a pair so he left within a few minutes of being there. The security/ LP followed him out to his car and took a picture of his license plate and half ass told him not to come back. Ummm, why? 1. He didn't steal, 2. He wasn't loitering. To a degree I understand that that man must hate his job. The neighborhood is less then stellar and I'm sure they take hits all the time but maybe try not chasing away ACTUAL customers. Also, if the LP was actually doing his job he would have known my fiance didn't steal anything. When this business has to close its location it will be due to serving it's real customers poorly, lack of size selection and the LP/Security man legitimately chasing innocent people out the door and treating them like criminals. Wow, this place was alarmingly disgusting. I've never seen a BCF that looked like this. Racks were a mess, close not organized, shoes were totally unorganized. I went to the bathroom and after that I ran out of that place. The cleanest stall was actually the one that had a pile of shit in the corner (no joke). I put down the clothes I had gathered and left. As a kid I always saw Burlington commercials and thought it was a fancy coat place, but we didn't have them where I lived. Well I accidentally walked in here trying to find the antique store and was disappointed. It's like an even more trashy version of Ross! I wandered around for a few minutes because I thought it was still a second hand store. I should just write "Yuck" as my review and call it good. This place is nasty, dingy, dirty, messy... There are stains all over the old carpeting, and part of the floor near the shoe area was blocked off because of water leakage. i bought a Strawberry Milk bubble bath jug about a year ago from here. i still have it at my parents' house. i like Burlington-only because it's fun to try on accessories, shoes, and sift through racks and racks of clothing on sale. the selections are not my cup o' tea... but it's huge here... and a great variety of things. from baby clothes, kids toys, menswear, and more... the women's selection is kind of out dated and boring for my taste. but whatev. i can always shop for well-priced winter jackets for the whole fam here! read more

Looking for bargain baby items? Look no further. I feel like this is the infinity pool of baby stuff and maternity clothes. You walk in the door and it just keeps going and going. I literally get dizzy with rack after rack of items. But maybe I'm just dizzy and should get a drink of water. Or go sit down. Good thing they have a nice selection of glider rockers and chairs here, too. They also have some nice options for cribs at really great prices. But like a lot of bargain places, good luck getting someone's attention if you have questions. When you're ready to pay, however, they miraculously appear. but, eh, I'm an independent shopper, so I guess I like to be left alone. read more

Very disappointed in the layout of this store. It's very dated, the selection is poor and it's very dark in the store. Drove out here looking for a coat and there wasn't much of a selection. coats were all scrambled around under the wrong size locations, had to sift through all the racks with no luck. complete waste of time.
