I come to this TJ Maxx about once a week or every other week, so at this point I feel like a regular. Every visit has been a positive experience. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful whenever I have questions or need an item put on hold. One thing I especially appreciate is how kind everyone is, including the security guards. The two usual security guards are always so sweet and have even grabbed my cart for me or put it away when I'm heading out. Small gestures like that really make a difference and make the store feel welcoming. Sometimes I'll take my dog in because we just come from the dog park and I don't want to leave him in the car and their always so sweet to him and I let him pick out a toy because he loves the toys here. Compared to some other TJ Maxx locations that can feel disorganized, slow to restock, or less friendly, this location stands out. The store feels safe, well maintained, and has a genuinely positive atmosphere. Everyone always smiles back and seems happy to help. This is easily my favorite TJ Maxx in the area, and I always enjoy shopping here. I never leave empty handed here because the restocks are too good!! read more

This TjMaxx is the best location in the northern area. The selection is vast. They are always stocked up on what I need. These days it's workout gear, baby items and skin care. Wow, their skin care is such a great value and wide selection of what you need. It is much cheaper than going to your Sephora or Ulta. The kitchen section is always stocked up with fun essentials. Their customer service is great and so helpful. There are hardly ever any lines. The parking lot does have tight tight spots. read more

I found a necklace that I wanted to buy that was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I liked it. So when I was told that if I opened an account I would receive a discount on my purchase, I thought, I don't want another credit card, but I can cancel it as soon as I get it. So I was asked for my driver's license to start the process and my license dropped down a crack between two cabinets that are connected. I stood there for three hours while lots of employees attempted to rescue my license, but in the end they said they were going to have to call in someone who could get in there. I felt terrible, how was I supposed to get home without my driver's license? I did ask, "are you expecting me to illegally drive without my driver's license?" I know this was a freak accident, but I really felt distressed, however I did manage to drive home without incident. My husband who is very handy made a special trip there to see if he could rescue my license, but spent a couple hours trying with no success. I drove to the DOL, but the amount of people waiting was horrendous! So next I went to their website, but the first appointment I could get to replace my license was two months away! I ended up taking my appointment sheet in there and waited four hours before they called my number and finally got a temporary. In the meanwhile, T J Maxx was trying to get someone with the tools to take apart these cabinets to rescue my license. In the end, I told them since I had my new license on the way, they didn't need to distroy these cabinets. I would like to thank Anita the manager and Luis the District Manager for recognizing what an ordeal this was for me. Some of the reviews mention poor customer service and perhaps there are individuals who are not customer focused, but I would seek out the manager or District Manager because I found them to be very helpful! read more

My friend bought a coat for my dog for Christmas, but it didn't fit. I had the recept and the tags that were on it, but the salesperson said she couldn't exchange it because they're was not a TJ Maxx tag, so they didn't know if it was from there (even though I had the receipt). I experienced a very rude older lady working there today. I cannot believe an employee in customer service would act this way. Mind blown! 1st, I was looking at clothes and she came on my isle and started pulling my cart away. I grabbed it and moved it out of her way and she said "I'm just looking it's fine". As I started pulling the cart towards me to move it for her, she continued to walk towards me and my cart. I said "I'm just not sure which way you're going" and she responded "just trying to get through...THANK YOU". WOW. Ok...guess she's having a bad day. Then, as I was waiting in line to check out there were 2 cashiers with register numbers lit up. The rude lady was behind one that was NOT lit. I assumed she wasn't open. No number was announced about the next open register. The old lady looked at me, through her hands up as if to say "are you coming or not?!" Shocked, I walked towards her and said "I didn't think you were open because the light wasn't on. She said " well I am. The other register with a little number is mine, but I'm here. I'm about to get off so I'll make you my last customer ". I said nothing. I don't care where her station is or that she's about to get off work. The attitude was very unnecessary. Her name is Jan F. I'm not sure what's going on in her life, but she needs to leave it at the door and be kind to customers. I feel embarrassed for her. Please have a talk with Jan about customer service. read more

Recently, I was at the TJ Maxx in Edmonds, WA. Of course, arriving 15 minutes before the store closed, imagine that! On the shoe rack, there was a beautiful pair of sandals that caught my eye. I picked them up and much to my surprise both shoes were for the left feet. Well, I checked my feet just to make sure I have a left and right one, which of course I do.... The next thing I know, I'm up at checkout counter asking where is the right shoe. The TJ Maxx team did search and found nothing. However, Marlena took down my phone number, said she would look and give me a call. The following day, I got a call from TJ Maxx, saying they had found the right shoe, I did go back and purchase those beautiful sandals...Amazing customer service!! read more

This TJ Maxx is really hit or miss. The parking here is always a nightmare, and there are some questionable looking people that hang out in this shopping center and sometimes can be found walking around like zombies in the store. They have a larger shoe section than most TJ Maxxes in the area and it actually looks more like a Marshall's than a TJ Maxx because of this minor layout difference. Some people have mentioned they don't enjoy the layout of the store as it seems messy or disorganized - fortunately if you shop at enough TJMs you know where to find everything. They all have the same sections (with the exception of high end locations that carry high end designer items). Anyway, this isn't my first choice of TJMs in the area but I did find one of my favorite crossbody purses here so I haven't written them off. read more

It's so sad that this company will determine your hours as an employee based on how many 'TJX Rewards Credit Card' signs ups you get. I really feel bad for these employees, because I was one of them at a different store. If you are a TJMaxx employee, run away. Run away as fast as you can. The managers did not care about me as an employee. I hope management will see this and respect their employees, because I know they work really hard to try to get anyone to sign up for this credit card just to keep some hours. As far as the merchendise, it's cute and aesthetically pleasing to some, but where's the quantity? All I see is empty shelves. I've also noticed A LOT of profiling. They are huge in talking amonst each other about some costumers appearance. Managers will literally tell you as an employee to follow and talk to someone they find suspicious. TJ max workers make me want to never shop at their stores again. One - if u don't have a receipt it's the end of the world for them to have to do their jobs and two - if you don't sign up for a credit card from them they're attitudes are wrecked. I thought this TJ Maxx was pretty bad. Despite it's great location near my apartment, the layout of the store is extremely cramped. In the women's clothing section, there is only enough room for ONE person wide in each aisle. Trying to excuse yourself past someone would only result in shoving yourself into the clothes and probably still bumping into the person anyway. I ended up having to walk all the way around to enter the aisles on the opposite side. The selection was pretty bad. In their basic tops, they only had about 30 size small shirts. I kept wandering around looking for the rest of the shirts, but, other than Juniors sizes, there weren't any. The handbag section is pretty large here, which is the one real bonus that I see about this location. I may be back here, but it will definitely be a while. I was not impressed. read more

This isn't the best TJ Maxx I have been to. To start with it is very cramped for space so it's hard to maneuver the carts around. They need to rearrange the place so more then one person can walk through the clothing aisles. I have a hard time finding any good clothes here since there is a limited amount of mens clothes which is pretty disappointing. They do have some good house supplies whether it be for the kitchen, living room, bathroom or the bedroom. I always find something great for the apartment and it's always fun looking at the kitchen supplies. The other day my wife found a really nice bedding bundle for our new bed that only cost $80. The original price was close to $200 so it was hard to pass it up. The womens section is big here so they defiantly have more to choose from then the men. I only really come here if I am with my wife cause she wants to look around and see if she can find anything. She has more luck finding stuff here then I do. read more

I have a few clothing name brands in mind that I'm attached to. I always look for that particular brand that i cling to and I do find some here from time to time. I don't care for brands that have big letters, that is too flamboyant and trying hard, and way overpriced! Nope! When it comes to clothing I mean very cute dresses and tops that have nice simple prints and are friendly to sight. Let me share with you though that often I will refuse to pay the full price. I will only buy for myself if and when something is "on sale". Most days, I end up with nothing bcs I get exhausted looking. Anyway...I do like to mix and match my outfits and keep it minimum but still stylish. I find them here but of course, allow me to put some time in. I always look for clothing that will compliment me not bcs it's the "thing" or whatever. No no no. Second: love, love utensils, dishes, pots, anything to do with kitchen, cooking and entertaining? This is my best place. I always, always find great buys without breaking my wallet. Great stuff for decorating rooms and/or living spaces. Third: beauty products for hair, nail and body can be found here as well--most of them I'm very familiar with and know their ingredients. I'm so glad this place is nearby AND...I was told their shipping comes on a Thursday. This place do try their best to manage and keep everything in tact, and organized. Staff is always available to help-just ask and they are more than happy to assist. Now that Christmas is near, just be mindful and be safe, and also be kind to one another. Price to MSRP ratio is the name of the game. This is the mid-tier game (End game would be Nordstrom Rack) where your wallet is safe to roam around the store. Spent about 20 dollars with an approximate MSRP of 80 dollars. (with some inspection, their manufacturing date suggest no more than 2 years old). They should have named their store Maxx Upgrades, because that's what it's all about. If you understand this ratio, master it, eliminate the price as the single metric, followed with some common-sense budgeting, you're well on your way to leaving the cheap attitude. read more

I think the address Yelp has for this store is wrong--should be right across from Ho Soon Yi, on the west side of 99. I should know--thanks to the Korean from Anchorage, discount clothes retailers and Korean food will be forever associated in my mind. But whatever. This place is not like any other bargain store. The merchandising department does a great job of product placement and maintains the inventory for quick and easy shopping. Staff is helpful, friendly and seem to be motivated in constantly staying busy or offering help (without being pushy).The purchasing department also does an amazing job in the selection of the products that they offer. The bargains are unreal and quality is decent. They do such a great job that I've never left this store empty handed or unsatified. This place is my kryptonite! The only drawback is the shoe prices, so if you're looking for cheap prices on shoes then this isn't your place. However the brands and quality are superior to the prices they offer. So technically the prices are a bargain, just slightly out of my price range. read more

Towels, towels, towels... We like to mix things up at home. Decor-wise, to clarify. TJ Maxx is a great place to buy towels, the towels you don't actually use but decorate with, duvets, duvet covers, sheets, the things that go under the sheets, pillows, the pillows you don't actually sleep on but decorate with, and the pillows next to the pillows that you don't actually sleep on but decorate with (and, you're right, I had no idea what these extra things even were before I got married). The prices are much more affordable (to us) than other major department stores and the brands are usually big names. I wouldn't consider myself a fashionista (fashionisto?), but I like looking relatively put together. I prefer to shop the clearance section (because I'm that cheap), but the regular section has great prices, too. Maybe, with a few more visits, I'll officially become a Maxxinista. Or, Maxxinisto. Or maybe not... Parking can be found, but gets pretty tight on the weekends. Customer service can be hit-or-miss and it's relatively clean. Being a guy, the fitting rooms are always available. My wife doesn't seem to have to wait for hers too often, either. The one pet peeve I have is that they don't seem to have testers for their cologne/perfume. But, I guess it's because they get stolen. I can understand that they don't want to lose merchandise, but they're losing a sale since I can't sniff before I buy. Other than that, shop away! read more

I actually like this store in comparison to other TJ Maxx stores and similar stores that I've been to. However, as I discovered last night when attempting to return an item, the customer service from the manager (not the woman working the register) was absolutely non-existent. I was returning 3 of the 4 items I'd bought and had the receipt on hand. I'd already worn one of the items, leggings, before I noticed the tiny little holes in the fabric that I didn't notice at the time of purchase or before I put them on (because obviously the material stretches and flaws become more obvious when you're wearing them). I figured I would at least try to return them anyway, but they were fairly cheap so it wasn't a big deal if I couldn't. I get to the register and the employee working it wasn't sure what to do with the leggings since they didn't have a tag. She called the manager over (his name was pronounced like "Day-lan" but I'm not sure about the spelling) and this little jerk actually told me twice that the leggings weren't listed on my receipt. He then tells me they look like they've been worn so they won't be accepted. The latter is fine - they did look worn because I'd washed them before returning them and while I was in line, I think I noticed that they have a policy of not accepting items that have already been worn. But to accuse me of lying and attempting to return an item that I supposedly didn't purchase? To interrupt and be curt with me when I told him I did buy them and insistent when I know what I bought and when and the item is right there on the receipt? Absolutely unnecessary. All he had to say was that last bit, which would have been factual and understandable, but he chose to be rude, condescending, and accusatory instead. Considering that I have read another negative review on here about the manager at this location, either this is the same jerk OR TJ Maxx has a track record of hiring managers at this location who are woefully incompetent at providing quality customer service. Surely you can do much better than someone who is impolite and blatantly disrespectful to his customers. After that experience, I won't be going back. read more

Not a huge fan of this chain and I find that one is much like all others. There is nothing exceptionally good or bad about the place. If you are looking for something specific (pillow, gym pants) you will probably be able to find it. Just walking in and browsing isn't too fun as it tends to be a little messy. read more

This used to be my fave TJMAXX location but since around December 2015 the beauty department has taken a drastic and sad nose dive, I'm not sure if they got a new buyer or what. I used to be able to consistently find a great selection of higher end skincare, masks, makeup wipes, etc., which included my favorite Korean sheet masks and wipes. Since Dec. it's been pretty much non existent in the way of better quality and Korean skincare. I check in about once a week and this store just doesn't stock what they used to anymore, so my friends and I have been going to Northgate. Let me tell you, the Northgate store has THE BEST and biggest selection of Korean sheet masks (Leaders, IPKN) and Korean skincare as well as mid to high end American and French skincare. The Northgate store will get all my business from now on. I'm so disappointed that the purchasing has gone so downhill at the store closest to my home though. The merch is better in the makeup and hair are departments in Northgate also by the way. read more

Good store. I like the inventory; it's a little more high-end than other stores of its type. I went searching for a specific brand of pans. They didn't have them, but it's a catch-as, catch-can type of store. The store was clean, as were the restrooms. Long wait in the purchase lines, but it is the holiday shopping season.
