The other day I decided to go look through this shop and I was looking at some jewelry with the help of a staff member who actually was pleasant and helpful to me and found a ring being sold as a "sterling ring" and I thought it was pretty and purchased it. and it was all good until I started examining it more as it was tarnishing in an unusual way I have never seen sterling tarnish before. It was marked s925 so I was fairly confident it was real because faking sterling rings isn't very common. I decided to test it anyway alongside confirmed 925 silver tested in an xrf machine to be genuine as well as .800 silver also xrf tested as genuine. it had no reaction whatsoever to the acid test where as the confirmed silver next to it tested just as it should which means yes, it is actually fake. I was a bit upset and rightfully so as this ring cost a bit much for a real sterling ring and was sold to me and advertised as genuine. when I decided to call and try to work something out on what to do with this trash ring sold to me as genuine for the price of a genuine ring. the staff member i ended up talking to was very argumentative and rude and flat out denied it was fake just because it was stamped as real. what does a stamp have to do with anything if the metal itself is not what it's stamped as? Refused to refund me on a blatant scam. If an item is advertised as genuine it NEEDs to be genuine. It IS an illegal practice to sell counterfeit products and offer no refund despite refund policies, as consumer protection laws override refund policies in a case like this. It is ILLEGAL to deny me my refund and you will Hear more from me. Very unprofessional would never shop here again unless I want to buy more counterfeit items for marked up prices and face illegal policy practices . Would give a rating of 0 if I could.

An amazing selection of decently-priced items!

Friends, I love this place. Most things are pretty decently priced. I came in looking for art, and I came away decently happy. They will gladly hold your items for you behind the desk so you can shop freely. I've been to some antique malls with one or two disinterested employees at the front. Not here! The helpful people working here are pretty great and I rely on them to help find exactly what you're looking for. Highly recommend.

Huge, lots of vendors! You can wander for awhile and find lots of stuff. Prices vary good stuff. Hit it if you are in the area.

This place is AMAZING! Wall to wall antique in a location that is literally the size of a football field. The staff was so helpful and friendly. One of the nice gentleman that works there even carried my baby's stroller up the stairs for me. I honestly could have stayed for so much longer than the 2 hours I was there. There's so many treasures and even fun holiday stuff. I found a gorgeous vintage gold mirror for only $36. We will be going back very very soon!

    Right arm post surgery

One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I had surgery on my right arm on Thursday. My left arm is in a brace from an accident. I cannot drive and I cannot carry weight. I went to this mall to shop as I often do. I spend a fair amount there. I went in on Friday with my backpack on so I could carry things. I was ten feet inside when the owner yelled at me "You can't wear a backpack in here. Leave now." I told her about my arm situation. She responded "I DON'T CARE. GET OUT!" She could have said "Sir, could I have you check that at the front desk?" It is obvious they are biased and maybe violating Disability Laws. If you are disabled, be advised. And tenant vendors: I am sorry. Especially G. from Fremont, and the jazz-classical guy I have met. I won't be spending money at your shops.

    The mask "policy".

Great selection of stuff. Have always enjoyed popping in. Will not be back for awhile (if ever) as they are not following guidelines. I saw at least two employees with out masks serving customers. Found quite a few things I liked. But I just couldn't bring myself to purchase anything from a business that is purposefully putting their own comfort before the needs of their customers and the community at large. I guess the sign at the door should have been an indicator of what I was in for. But I was hoping that at least staff would be following guidelines. From other reviews it would seem they were less than kind when questioned about their lack of mask wearing.

Sign by the register - clearly why the owner and what seems to be her daughter are refusing to wear a mask.

Public health hazard! While the customers and booth owners all seemed to be wearing masks and trying - for the most part- to be social distancing- the owner and what seems to be her daughter were clearly and defiantly not wearing a mask and helping customers, getting right in people's faces. Thankfully the other employees were wearing masks but no sanitizer between customers, no plexiglass, no social distancing and the daughter was ringing up folks with her face inches away from customers who were clearly uncomfortable. No signs requiring masks, no control of number of people in the business, no support at all of these state laws. Not only did I report them but I'll never give this person my money again as they clearly don't have any basic human respect for others' lives. Let them have their faith and get COVID all day long but to have a business so full of people with NO precautions is a public health hazard.

My favorite thing we found there

Holy cow! This place was incredible and overwhelming. Staff was friendly when I went so maybe they have transferred leadership since the last reviews? Also regarding covid, everybody was wearing masks and there were no concerns on my end with safety. I didn't even think about it until reading other reviews for this place. Prices are INCREDIBLY reasonable for most vendors, and the selection of MCM is very broad. Not at all ada accessible just in case that applies to you. Packed with treasures, and so big that within an hour my sister and I hadn't even cleared half of it. There is a fee for credit cards, but not debit or cash!

I love this place!!! It was a nice 2 hour walk around. Picked a few items at a great price. It brought back lots of memories of childhood toys. Workers were very friendly and helpful

The managers say to everyone "please do not run, walk only, be kind to others, blah blah blah" yet the stand there at the door and the registers and let them do what thy just loudly asked them NOT to do. I don't understand how anyone runs in this establishment. There are no emergency situations like earthquakes, power outages or fires that warrant running at any time of being in the store. People are going to get hurt! One of these people is a young college child, his name is John. He runs every day to get to the piles of music cd's on the shelves so he can find the high dollar ones to re-sell on ebay and amazon. He used to be a high school track star and has almost twice fallen down taking a corner too sharp. Yet the managers don't say a word to him to slow down, or kick him out for 5 or 7 days like they do to others in the store who constantly are always pushing, shoving others, or being rude and obnoxious. This young child John, 2 days ago as I went to grab some cd's came right across my whole hand and knocked them out of my hand and tried to pick them up as if to steal them from me! I told him to back off and if he ever touches me again that I would put him on the ground as self defense. He rudely badmouthed me and told me "too bad so sad". The very next day, he did it again but this time he tried to take the 4 cd's I had just grabbed to look at right out of my hands! I bit my tongue, but on my way out I pulled aside one of the managers who I thought would listen and try to do something about. He told me the next day (today) there would be a manager at the front door to confront and talk to him as he entered as well as another manager in the back to make sure he wasn't bothering others. Well neither thing happened and this knucklehead just sprinted in the store again and right by the manager 5 feet from the cd's and she didn't say anything to him or the others who were on a full on running sprint marathon to pick the aisles clean of the new items put out overnight. Korenna and Ingrid are the only female managers at this store. Barry, Nate, Joe and Joel are the male managers. Joe is quite honestly the only one who listens to customer complaints and sticks to what he says. This review along with another letter is going to be written to the LDS Mormon President as well as the Washington State Labor & Industries department.

Immediately what sticks out to me about Deseret is how clean and well kept up it is. Goodwill especially is notorious for this where at many of them it seems like a gust of wind blew through the aisles and things are scattered all over the place and picked over. To be fair certain sections such as the toys and the otherwise 'brick-a-brack' sections do look like this here and other places, but at least it looks like here at Deseret they have people that come and try to neaten it up or zone it. Another thing about Deseret that's unique and I like is with the piles of shirts I'm sure they get, they try to color code them and hang them so if you're looking for that certain color you can simple walk over and sift through shades of yellow or green t-shirts for example as they're hung up and separated from the rest of the assorted t-shirts. The store seems to be decently staffed and seems evident by how clean it generally is here. From what I understand they hire people of less means or recently released offenders for work which is nice. My company actually has one of our clients volunteer here so I appreciate them for that. The one flaw I've found here is the shoe section is not well presented. You have to "eyeball" the shoes for size as there isn't a tag or other easily identifier of size on them. They also seem to pretty much be mixed - womens, mens, baby, child... it could use improvement. I've visited Deseret a few times and although I've yet to score any nice finds here, I do enjoy the ease of browsing here and the prices are surprisingly decent considered the spike in many thrift stores inventory in favor of profits. If you too are a thrifter, stop in for a look.

The greeter at the door was nice and helpful and then I only saw one store associate on the floor the entire rest of the time I was here. I had previously been once before to look for winter coats a decade ago. The store seems about in the same shape as it was then. The racks/aisles could use a reorg and if there were employees floating around the store maybe there wouldn't be so many items on the floor or in the wrong place. The fitting rooms are currently closed and there is exactly one bench in the corner by the womens' fitting room area if you find shoes you want to try on. There's not a lot of rhyme or reason to the layout of the store so you just kind of have to go down every aisle and see what there is to see. I found lots of little treasures, including the best swim stuff for my friend's kiddo. This location is pretty much on par with an average Ross store with what looks like overstock from things that may have first gone to TJMaxx. Prices are low so it's a real treasure hunt. Warning, if there are heavy steppers at the vintage store on the second floor it is really annoying to be shopping in Burlington - think of the worst neighbors you could possibly have above you and that's what you'll hear..from the sounds of it they have hardwood floors, not carpet - Burlington should follow their lead!
