Marshall's used to be my go to shopping destination. Not anymore, the prices are no longer a bargain.

They are great candles, they burn evenly, and don't crater in the middle like Yankee Candles or traditional wax candles tend to.

I've only been once to the Daiso that was in Seattle's Roosevelt neighborhood before it closed…read more Never stopped in the Daiso locations in Tukwila or Lynnwood either. However, I've been eyeing the grand opening of the new Daiso in Bitter Lake/North Seattle. It is located around the corner from Aurora Donuts and diagonal from Amazon Fresh, Ulta, and Planet Fitness. There's a shared parking lot and of course, located along Aurora so available via the Metro Rapid Ride E bus route. On the way to Ballard, I decided to swing by around 11:30am and check out this new location (6/1/24). It was nice to wander the aisles and look at a variety of items: plushies, kitchen/household goods, home/desk decor, personal care items, stationary, stickers, office supplies, storage items, crafting items, food items like ramen bowls, assorted bottled and canned beverages, teas, snacks, sweets, ad naseum. Pro tip: yes, it's a block away from Office Depot. But why have staid office supplies and stationary? When you can have fun and unique items instead from Daiso! The only line I saw was for the checkout, which was "terrible" because it allowed me to gawk at closely at potential impulse items, lol. The front counter was very efficient with upbeat staff, so not much of a wait. I managed to spend over $30, so I was given a grand opening goodie bag upon leaving. It actually had several useful items which was shared with The Homie. He's the one who introduced me to Daiso originally. Daiso may become my new retail therapy for budget minded shoppers. Welcome to North Seattle!

I always feel safer at TJ Maxx than out in the Northgate area which can have some unpredictable scenarios. The staff at this location are hard working, keeping the isles and racks neat, and I hard saying this but it doesn't look like Ross. However, my recent visit has left me feeling uncomfortable and annoyed. I am in the process of moving and walked over here to pick up some storage items for my bathroom. The person at the cashier was pushier than usual to get me to sign up for a TJ Maxx credit card. She then asked me if I have photo ID and I said no just to get her off my case. She then tells me it's against the law to not have a photo ID on me (which is false) and goes into how you never know with how things are nowadays. That left me feeling very uncomfortable, icky and no longer willing to shop at this TJ Maxx.

I shop at this store quite frequently and I actually really like it. However, I was there last week…read moreand there was a young girl working with dark really curly hair and she was l training a new employee. That employee was a younger guy with glasses. I heard them talking and she was saying 'she liked the job except having to help 50 year-old people and older people. '. She said it's a fun job " if I don't have to talk to 50-year-olds'. . Well, I am over 50 years old. I don't bother anyone. I don't ask them questions, but I'd like to know I could if I'm shopping and have a question. I understand the younger generation disregard older people like we're useless. I pray that they make it to my age. And if they don't want to, I pray they die before they turn 50 so they don't have to experience old age . But that being said if you don't like working with older people, you should probably not be in customer service because we do shop a lot. But if you work in customer service, you have to be smart enough to know that you will deal with all kinds of people She kept going on and on about how useless older people are, and she can't stand talking to them I feel bad for her grandparents. That girl might wanna look for a new job that she doesn't have to deal with people my age. What she said was extremely discriminatory and offensive. And she was talking like I wasn't even standing there like she wanted me to know how useless I was as a 50-year-old woman. She should really be ashamed of herself and I hope the store has a nice talk with her to let her know what she did was completely discriminatory.

For two days, items are discounted and treasures can be found. Parking is hard to come by. However, if you park at the 145th park and ride, they have a shuttle on Saturday (I'm not sure about Sunday). For furniture pick up, they will let you into the lot to pull up to the doors to make for easy loading and unloading. I saw tons of volunteers and they were all very nice. They were easily identifiable with aprons and were organized pretty well. Food was available from two food trucks and a concession stand run by students. I found great deals in the electronics room including 2 camera lenses, a computer monitor, and 2 robotic dogs for my little guy. At $26 for everything, I got a great deal! I bought a Columbia fleece, Quiksilver pants, and basketball warm ups for my kiddo at the whopping price of $3 for everything. I got tons of kitchen stuff for my sibling that just got a new apartment as well as old school Tupperware, gadgets, and a pruning saw for $13. I spent 5 hours here shopping. If you shop in the morning, you get a $5 off coupon that you can use between 2pm and 4pm. Overall, the prices were very reasonable and I had a great time. On Sunday, you buy a bag (small for $6 or garbage bag for $20) and stuff it full. Electronics and Best of Show items are half price and you can't use the bag on them. 4-stars primarily for the parking situation and the fact that they want you to eat so you will continue to shop but fail to give you anywhere to sit down. This was an issue because of the amount of rain we had that day.

If I was going to pay $10 for a used T-shirt, I could go to Ross and buy a brand new one. Used plates were $5, Ross would be brand new for $5. I'm trying this at that the prices are way over priced. I understand it's all for charity, but the donated items should be sold for a little less. The reason why it wasn't a 1/5 Stars is due to the fact that the last day there are sales. It was 50% off majority of the things and by the end of the day, everything. I was able to find lots of vintage cameras and film for an amazing deal. I would suggest everyone to check out the electronic side because they have the best prices for awesome items. The clothes and everything else isn't worth it until it goes on the half of deal. I would still come back to browse for stuff and definitely check out the electronic section again. As for clothes or home decor, bring your money!!!! It's good that they accept cash and cards!

There are tons of…read morepeople who full on run, sprint and power walk (which is not walking) upon the doors opening each morning at 9am sharp. The managers say to everyone "please do not run, walk only, be kind to others, blah blah blah" yet the stand there at the door and the registers and let them do what thy just loudly asked them NOT to do. I don't understand how anyone runs in this establishment. There are no emergency situations like earthquakes, power outages or fires that warrant running at any time of being in the store. People are going to get hurt! One of these people is a young college child, his name is John. He runs every day to get to the piles of music cd's on the shelves so he can find the high dollar ones to re-sell on ebay and amazon. He used to be a high school track star and has almost twice fallen down taking a corner too sharp. Yet the managers don't say a word to him to slow down, or kick him out for 5 or 7 days like they do to others in the store who constantly are always pushing, shoving others, or being rude and obnoxious. This young child John, 2 days ago as I went to grab some cd's came right across my whole hand and knocked them out of my hand and tried to pick them up as if to steal them from me! I told him to back off and if he ever touches me again that I would put him on the ground as self defense. He rudely badmouthed me and told me "too bad so sad". The very next day, he did it again but this time he tried to take the 4 cd's I had just grabbed to look at right out of my hands! I bit my tongue, but on my way out I pulled aside one of the managers who I thought would listen and try to do something about. He told me the next day (today) there would be a manager at the front door to confront and talk to him as he entered as well as another manager in the back to make sure he wasn't bothering others. Well neither thing happened and this knucklehead just sprinted in the store again and right by the manager 5 feet from the cd's and she didn't say anything to him or the others who were on a full on running sprint marathon to pick the aisles clean of the new items put out overnight. Korenna and Ingrid are the only female managers at this store. Barry, Nate, Joe and Joel are the male managers. Joe is quite honestly the only one who listens to customer complaints and sticks to what he says. This review along with another letter is going to be written to the LDS Mormon President as well as the Washington State Labor & Industries department.
