One of my favorite book stores. These guys are huge and carry a variety of books, stationery, games, toys, gifts, CDs and many more. Everything in the store is neatly organized, the staff is super helpful. There is a cafe inside. There is some seating inside the store as well. I like that they keep changing some of their book displays to reflect the current trends. I have discovered many new books going inside the store. They often have some clearance section where you get some Pretty good deals. Highly recommend this bookstore!

Shopping at this location is always something I enjoy because it's two stories of books! I will say engagement wise this location has had by far the most helpful staff. I had at least three different employees ask if I needed help and one checked in on me again to make sure I was doing okay and gave recommendations as well based on what I was looking at.

Bookstores, seemingly a thing of the past, have a special place in my heart. I love to walk in and see books lined on shelf after shelf with so many titles and authors to explore and find. The cafe - the reason for this visit - was clean and bustling. We enjoyed a birthday cake cupcake and a salted caramel cookie. Both tasty and full of too much sugar. Next time, more engagement with books and offerings.

If you are willing to pay $8.10 for a 4-shot double latte, then this is the place for you. I am happy that people read books more than they play video games. As an author myself of seven books, it is somewhat disheartening. My heart goes out to all the devoted readers of non-fiction these days, especially, "Highliner--the Nature, Science and Philosophy of Automobile Driving," in additon to, "The Perfect God, "The 44," and "Agape--Ways of the Eternal Champion", followed soon by "Mini-handbook for the Spiritual Warrior" and "Handbook for the Spiritual Warrior" by Swan Starling, my pseudonym.

It's a huge store and there two level with Starbucks Cafe inside this location. I came late in the evening, so it mostly empty. They closed down toward the back section for a special event. Enjoyed a beverage from the cafe before head out.

Love spending a bit of time in a brick and mortar store. This store combined with an in house Starbucks kept me entertained for several hours on a Sunday afternoon. I even bought a couple of books. Stop in ad keep the book stores open.

With the holidays wrapping up, I decided to venture to the Barnes and Noble located at Northgate Mall (12/31/17). Interesting that there's an elevated Seattle Police perch in the parking lot shared by Sanford's, the steak house and the B&N bookstore. Pretty busy with folks on both floors and cafe. Clearly it had been awhile since I wandered around, since the cookbooks were not on the second floor. But my attention was caught with the various toys and figures imported from Japan. So it became a series of photos and texts between me and The Homie due to Totoro, Pusheen, and Star Wars figures and models. Despite armed with a gift card since June and a 20% off coupon received awhile back in the mail, wandered through all the merch on both floors (books, music, movies, magazines, journals, cards, chocolates, etc), I end up buying a BanZai Star Wars Taikoyaku Stormtrooper figure ($84.95, less 20%, and a $40 gift card), the final cost was $34.82. Not bad! This Barnes and Noble location had items that condensed potential trips to the ID, Funko, Toys RUs, and ThinkGeek. Not Fred Meyer, but had aspects of 'one stop shopping'. I still prefer to shop at indie bookstores or get titles via the library, but this location is pretty decent if one is needing gift ideas.

I purchased this book for my 11 year old son and it was in excellent condition!

So, I was thrilled when I found that, not only did the stores still exist, but they had a Lynnwood location when I was in that part of the metro Seattle area. It was fantastic to be able to browse a huge collection of music and movies, and find great titles at wonderful prices. On the music side of things, they had loads of used titles, and I was exstatic to see how many new discs they had in stock. I asked at the counter if they had a section for SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc) music, a format that has always been a niche product, and has very few titles being released any more. The person behind the counter not only knew what I was talking about, but he apologized for not having a separate section for these discs, and told me I would find them mixed in with everything else by the same artists. I am very much looking forward to my next visit to the Seattle area, and being able to browse some more.

I returned a record as it was skipping right on the first track. None of my other records that I bought previously not only from here, but from other record stores did not have that issue. I spoke to a man that I think was a manager or something, I was explaining what happened and he immediately judged my record player for being on the cheap end that's why my record was skipping. He asked another question if my speakers were built in, as that can also cause it to skip? I'm not new to this. But to use my record player as an excuse to why the record was skipping was insulting. I told him that none of my other records were doing it, so they need to replace it, in which they did. Guess what? The new copy DID NOT SKIP! So that crosses off my record player as the reason. I did not appreciate that kind of talk. Will I be back? Yes, I think so. But that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Seattle record shops are often picked over, so come over here to find treasures and better pricing. They also have the new records here too, and vinyls seem to be priced according to quality as you can find the same vinyls priced differently. Selection is great without being impossible to browse through. The owner is pretty friendly. There's also nice ambient music playing in the background (on a record player, of course). A very unpleasant experience this was. I walked 6 miles to have a great time and find some records and the owner of the store was possibly the grumpiest record store owner I have come across in years. I don't know what I did to this man to cause him to be so rude to me, but I left. Highly recommend passing this store up. He was blasting late career Billy Joel the entire time , so this was probably a red flag from the beginning. What an awful experience....

I am happy I did because I found some really cool 7inch singles here (see photos) to bring back home to Austin with me. Walking in to Fat Cat Records I immediately loved the vibe in here. It really feels like you are walking into a friends top-of-the-hill apartment to hang and look through their record collection in a super welcoming place. I really loved the overlook down off the street and neighborhood of N. Stone Way. You will find cassettes, CDs, 45 singles, books, and all mediums amongst new and collector's issues and selections. You definitely want to come in here and be curious because you WILL find something unique. Here is what I found and brought back: - I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher (45 single) - Only the Lonely by Roy Orbison (45 single) -Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee (45 single) - King Tut by Steve Martin - a rare Modest Mouse 7inch (white vinyl) Pricing is excellent for what I got and everything was fantastically in good shape especially for the ones I found that are from the 1950-1960s. Many of the singles had typed out/inventory markings on them too which makes me wonder where they were before showing up to this cool record store?!?! My friend got some pretty rad and rare vinyl too! Everyone was super impressed by the selection they had here. Me and The Homie stopped by on 12/16/23, during the last hour before closing time. The Homie found some vinyl gold, as did I, a cool item with The Chvrches for $4.99. Later, I find it was going for up to $50 elsewhere online.
