The owner, Brooke, remembered my name after ONE visit and always takes a minute to chat, even if the story is busy.

I was in this Michaels recently, and was extremely saddened and upset to see the painting supplies…read morecompletely wiped out. It was like a barren wasteland of sadness. Not just that, but the sketching supplies, calligraphy, paint brushes(especially Princetons, shocking that the Princeton brushes are wiped out completely except for maybe a handful of brushes, but all the cheaper ones like W&N Cotman & Artist's Loft were in supply a-plenty. I know that's not the employees fault, plus we DID just have Black Friday & Christmas, and New Years sales so maybe that's why it was wiped out (just havent gotten a shipment in yet I hope?). I'm hoping to come back in the future after a while and see if it's fully stocked again, or if that poor store just never gets to new shipments in of their painting supplies. All in all, that was sad, and the poor shelves looked like they had seen better says but were hanging in there for the long haul. OH ALSO. To CUSTOMERS who shop in this store--WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU? Obviously y'all were never taught to clean up after yourselves or put things back where you got them, because after I was sad about basically everything being out of stock, I spent a while going up and down the paint supplies & sketching materials aisles, putting things back where you imbeciles so kindly decided to leave them for the employees. If you don't want something, put it back. I can only imagine the state of your homes, vehicles and anywhere you frequent often being abhorrently in disarray & disgusting as all get out. CLEAN UP YO MESSES Michael's staff is not there to follow you around and watch over you because you're an actual toddler in an adult body. Yes they work there, but they have enough duties that don't include catering to your negligent laziness (or shall I say incompetence? Tbh you've earned all of those words, congratulations). In conclusion, if you're going to be an entitled POS who can't put things back where you found them, if that's too much *work* for you, please don't leave your trash heap of a house, and spare any establishment of any sort from having to deal with the fact that you weren't raised right. The end.

Needles & Hooks - We have a great animal-free fiber area.

I'm so glad we live in a world where concepts like this exist…read more I've never knitted or crochet, but I've recently picked up sewing and it's grown my appreciation and curiosity for hand crafting. Needles & Hooks is stocked with more yarn than I previously thought existed on planet earth. They have every color/pattern you could imagine and all the accessories to go along with it. I also love the art pieces scattered throughout the shop, giving it a whimsical feel. I truly couldn't pick a favorite.. but gun to my head? I loved the hand knitted frogs. Whether you're an experienced knitter or just looking to breathe in all the crafty air, this is a great place to spend your weekend. I felt my body instantly gravitate to this store and left feeling inspired to create.

I promised a friend that I'd make her a beanie as a bridal shower present. From looking online I…read morehad decided what yarn I was aiming for but I didn't trust colors on my screen. Needles and Hooks was just a nice as the last time I went. The yarn here is more expensive than a Michaels but most if not all yarn will have natural fibers. The person who helped me out is really nice and helped verify my yarn color choices. If you buy a hank of yarn, they'll offer to cake it. I've taken the offer before and it turns out nice. I didn't during this visit. There is a decent amount of people who come to knit on Thursdays but I was there to shop. Shopping during that hour is a bit less popular since people are crafting. Parking is great and I will still mourn the fact they had to move inside the mall from their spot outside with a nice window.

Had a wonderful time painting my mug…read more Staff was nice. Great glaze colors. I was ready to have my birthday party here because it was so enchanting. Sadly, after i picked up my mug and took it home to have a cup of tea, it cracked when the hot (not even boiling) water was added. When I called and explained what it happened the person at the store just said that that "sometimes happens with pottery" and "the only way I could've avoided this was to get the stoneware glaze". They did not offer to have me come back in and redo a new mug. None of this was explained to me when I was choosing the glazed selections for my mug or when I picked up the mug. I knew one of the glaze that I picked was not food safe, but I was careful to put it on the outside. When I picked up the mug after firing, there was no paper insert with care instructions. So I guess I'll be going to a different pottery place to replace the mug at my own expense and asking more questions like "can I put tea in this tea cup?" next time. One star for spending $32 plus tax on a mug that broke before I could enjoy it and that no longer holds liquid. Buyer beware.

They have such a huger selection than Stuffington's, they offer so much more and it feels more organized! I love how we were treated and how the tables are organized with the paint. It is very family friendly from what I saw in the calendar and they also have adult nights! We can't wait to try one! Everything is valued nicely for any budget too! Great for family dates and date night! Love this place!

Geared towards people who want to make their own outdoor gear (by the way, how cool is that?!) Seattle Fabrics is also a treasure trove of goodness for those of us in the bag-making community. From vinyl to nylon to mesh this is not the place to look for quilting cottons, but if you like to think out of the fabric box you've come to the right place. And even though some of the larger chain fabric stores carry some outdoor-friendly products this place carries them in EVERY color. They also have an amazing selection of bag hardware in all sizes, quite possibly the most impressive selection of zippers EVER, and enough fleece to cover the entire city in one big blanket. Their prices were super reasonable too. I've been buying my glitter vinyl online for twice what I paid here. The place isn't fancy, and you might have to do some digging, but when I couldn't find a couple of things the nice guy at the cutting counter was happy to help. They also have a tempting selection of patterns. Want to make your own tent, ski clothing, or backpack? Need to reupholster your boat? Sailboat needs a new canvas? This is your place!
