Adventuring to Urban PaperCrafter this morning, Thursday 17 April 2025, about when it opened for the day, parking was available, friendly workers greeted me, and the store was well stocked. I looked over different papers and found variety in patterns, textures, and thickness. I was looking for paper to make a couple Easter cards and found a few I liked. I went with two patterned papers that were double sided (different pattern on front and back). I also went with a firecracker red and a textured white. The plain colors were for me to cut out flower shapes in the spirit of the holiday. My total for all four pieces of paper came to $5.67 and my cash payment method was accepted. read more

I love this place! Such a great selection with reasonable pricing. Brooke & Brooklyn are fun & always extremely helpful! They do daily live shows highlighting new products & regularly do craft projects which always have useful information & are downright funny most of the time. Although I don't live close enough to come here regular, I can order & they ship items to me. Shipping is always timely & well packaged for mailing. I've been going to Urban for several years. I love the unique variety of products they stock. They really have some lovely papers they get in from all over the world. It's so nice to go fall in love with something beautiful and be able to take it home right away and not have to wait for shipping. I highly recommend checking them out! read more

Unlike the other reviewers, my experience was not so good. Brooke was a flat out bitch when I asked her about some ordering a popular line of paper for me (I was willing to prepay to get it even though she charges 20% more than other places for the same items). I was interested in her Washington paper but it is all curled and faded. Definitely not worth $2 a sheet! Her selection is poor and there isn't a good variety of supplies. A lot of it is old and out dated but still marked up ridiculously high. I won't be back. read more

I used to go to the Scrapbook Pad for my scrapbooking needs but now that it isn't an option any more, I landed onto this place. It's the nearest to me, although I live in Seattle, that has everything I'm looking for as far as layouts, paper, stickers, ribbons etc. There's a huge sale rack on the back which is nice. A couple times I'd gone to the scrapbook pad and they didn't have what I was looking for but this place had a huge selection. They were a bit pricey in my opinion though =/ (Only downfall which makes a bug difference). read more

If you want to be treated like unworthy trash, then go to this store. If you want to be treated like a human being, and get waited on by someone at least pleasant, go to hobby Lobby. The owner here is so rude and mean immediately when you just step in the door. So hostile, without saying a word! The body language and atmosphere of this store is horrible! This was the third time I tried going in here, and I've had it with the owner being rude and making me feel bad, like I am bothering them because I'm trying to buy something. . Doesn't she want the business? Honestly, if you go into business serving the public then try to be a people person! I work hard for my money. I will never ever step foot in that place again and she needs to just make it a private club for her people she likes to scrap with. read more

This is a new scrapbooking store, located right on Edmonds Way (Highway 104) on the way to the ferry terminal. When I was in, they had been open only a little more than a month. The owner was there, and she was very nice and helpful. The selection is smaller right now, but she has been bringing new things in on almost a weekly basis. There was a variety of paper, stickers and other ephemera to choose from, as well as your basic supplies. The prices on some of the stickers were a little high, while some were incredibly low. The higher priced stuff was things I'd never seen before, so the higher cost would be worth it if you want something new and unique. read more

I LOVE Urban Scrapbooker. Brooke, the owner and her dad "Scrappy" are so friendly and treat you like old friends when you walk in. Not to mention, Scrappy makes his own 12 x 12 paper of original prints from around the sound (paper of the Edmonds fountain, ferry, the tulip festival, Leavenworth). Not pleased. I got a Groupon for here awhile back and it expired a few months ago. Per Groupon's policy, they still accept them, just at face value instead of for the discount. We had huge family health problems over the past 6 months and I never made it in, but was so excited to finally be able to go in and get some goodies. I drove all the way from Everett to be told that they didn't have a scanner to read it. I have used expired Groupons other places so I suggested she could just cross it off her list. She told me that there was no list and that it was too late. I should just call Groupon and get a refund. My friend and I both had Groupons and were ready to spend more than the value on a nice little spree. The whole point of Groupon is to get people to come in and get to know your business. What a total turn off. read more

The owner did not tell me that my class fee of $28 was nonrefundable when I paid for it. There is no posted notice of this in the store. She not only refused to refund it, she lectured me and would not stop. She was rude and nasty. Terrible customer service, I am saddened by this. read more

I'm totally shocked at the negative reviews! Urban Scrapbooker is a wonderful store. The owner, Brooke, remembered my name after ONE visit and always takes a minute to chat, even if the story is busy. She special orders just about anything, and does regular pre-orders for popular craft items that aren't yet released (e.g., Tim Holtz Ideology embellishments). The store is very well stocked. There is an excellent selection of high quality paper, ranging from solid colors to the newest lines from companies like Graphic 45, October Afternoon, and so on. There is also a modest but good selection of rubber stamps (this isn't a stamp store after all) and it's growing. Many of the stamps the store carries have corresponding dies, which she also carries. Speaking of dies, Urban Scrapbooker stocks a lot of them and the selection is growing. There are embellishments galore, and also has a great selection of mixed media products: Dylusions paint, Copic markers, Distress inks/pens/stains, alcohol inks, etc. Brooke now offers a variety of cardcrafting, mixed media, and technique classes, and almost all of them are very reasonably priced. She also offers make & takes on a regular basis. Is Urban Scrapbooker spendy? Sometimes. But no more so than any other independently owned business. Money's always tight for me, but I'd rather spend a little more on my craft supplies to support a local business than add to Michael's, JoAnn's, or Hobby Lobby's profit margin. Besides, most of the things you find at Urban Scrapbooker are things you can't find at the big box stores. I have been shopping at Urban Scrapbooker for almost as long as the store has been open. I've taken several classes and I always learn something great; a new technique, how to use products/what the best product is for a given task (and often how to use something that I've purchased and then has been sitting around waiting for me to figure it out). Brooke (the owner) is always friendly and helpful. I've often stopped in with a half-formed idea and she is always willing to help me flesh out the idea - and usually makes it better than it would have been 09/16/13 - Just noticed that my review had been filtered out, as have almost all of the good review for this store, so I'm hoping this update will put it back out there. Three years later, and I still regularly shop at Urban Scrapbooker. The store has changed a lot in that time - she now carries tons of mixed media art supplies (Tim Holtz, anyone?) and a bigger selection of those things than I've seen anywhere. Brooke is still always willing to offer helpful tips and the classes offered here are fabulous and priced just right. read more

i frequently shop at urban and have been a customer for years. they are always getting in new products and have facebook live videos so you can see some of the new products and even some demonstrations using them. i am a regular shopper there and like to support my local stores. brooke and brooklyn are great. read more

My mom loves this place so sometimes when we're doing errands together, we'll stop by together. Brooke is incredibly friendly and definitely values her customers, so it's hard to believe from the other reviews that she's mean. Not too long ago when I was here with my mom, my mom forgot a coupon at home by accident and Brooke honored it because my mom is a regular and she trusted that my mom would come back with the coupon next time. From what my mom has told me, Brooke carries a certain selection of scrapbooking items you can't even find online because she pre-orders it using her vendor's license, so if you're more of a "hardcore" scrapbooker, you'll find that this place has a lot more things you'd never have any chance of finding at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I have different crafting hobbies, but sometimes this place has inexpensive little knick-knacks I can use for my other projects, so I always have a lot of fun coming in here and seeing all the different things I could use for any future projects. read more

I have been reading the latest reviews of this store which do not fall in line with my experience. Let me say, I do not live in the area, most my contact is by phone or email. I pre-order all of my dies and stamps from Brooke and she has been nothing but friendly and professional. I take the responsibility to call her if I see other online stores have the product in stock and I have not heard from her. She answers the phone promptly and provides an answer. I pay over the phone and for a very reasonable shipping fee my products are in my mailbox within 2 days. To me this is great customer service. I have had the pleasure of visiting the store in person when I am in the Edmonds area. I bring my own bag because the City of Edmonds has outlawed bags. You have to pay for them if you want one. I will admit that putting new product on tables is not the most elegant way of displaying merchandise, but I also do not have to search through the mega amounts of scrapping supplies to find the newest. The store is small and you must use all available space. The other problem this helps stop is shoplifting. If the product is in front of the check out desk it is a little harder to pilfer. Not saying that this stops it, but it does help and she doesn't have to install a metal detector. Which to a small business can be costly. The parking lot is small and narrow exit lanes, but if one is an attentive driver there will be no problems encountered. The product is marked up due to shipping costs. I noticed this at several other stores and asked the owner. I also worked at a store in 2003 when gas prices started upward and she added .25 to each item to compensate. I would imagine the charge has increased in 10 years. Stores do not get free shipping they have to pay just like everyone else and that gets passed on to customers. Not surprised at this at all and not bothered either because this store has the products I want. I am sorry that others seem to have had problems, but I have not had any. Maybe it is because I keep in contact with the store when I place and order. If there is a delay in the order I am disappointed but with a good attitude the order arrives shortly. I haven't been a customer at USB for long, but, it's now my go to store for all my card making needs. Brooke is an awesome lady and so patient and helpful. I'm truly amazed at the variety of products she sells. Much more variety than any other store in this area and that includes the stores that have gone out of business. I went here not that long ago. Very messy, un-organized, un-welcoming place. Its to bad. It feels more like a 2nd hand store then a scrapbook/paper crafting store. Inventory is not great, and did not carry popular items, like pocket style scrapbooking, metal dies for machines, albums that are current or any organizing or tool type items.
