We are super thankful this establishment was open on Labor Day for notary service for a passport application. Pricing for this and two 8x10 prints (4.00 each) was slightly less than $20. This place overcharged my poor mother I sent on an errand for me. And the printing quality was AWFUL. I overlooked the reviews here. You can see exactly what type of people run this business by looking at their replies to bad reviews! Seriously, who charges $20 for 7 pages of only black ink on your own, already paid cardstock? I'm more forgiving to the parts that were cut off which takes a few seconds to format for printing. I'm not sure what printer they use for it to have splotches, too. I really expect more from a place that specializes in printing. Maybe I would have let the extortion prices go if the print job wasn't worse than my own printer...(which is unqualified for the print job) But now I doubt not only their customer service, but their main service/expertise. I really wanted to like this place as it's conveniently located near me. I'm an artist with lots of plans to print high quality works. I've had nothing but excellent service here. I initially came here because it's the closest, non-chain print store, but now I wouldn't go anywhere else. It's a family owned business where the employees know so many of the customers personally and by name. I've had flyers printed, but more importantly, I had my wedding programs printed here. It sort of breaks my heart to leave a critical review for Aurora Prints because I love to patronize local business owners over the corporate stores wherever I can, and have visited this store a number of times in the past -- but I had a disappointing experience here today. I ordered holiday cards for a dollar a piece and paid for the cutting service they provide. They gave me the cards today and about half were improperly cut, with a few millimeters of the margin lopped off... What I gathered from his explanation was that the cards are printed two to a page and cut using a machine, but because of how small the margin was between the two cards, half of the cards were imprecisely cut. He mentioned this to me when handing the cards over to me so he was fully aware of the issue but gave them to me anyway. For a holiday card, this rendered them un-usable but at a glance, I didn't notice how poorly they were cut because the mis-cut cards were in the back of the stack. I feel like, if I have paid for professional cutting, and the vendor cuts them improperly, they should write off the mistake and print new ones for the customer that look clean and professional. Surely a couple dollars of paper and ink is a small price to pay to keep a customer happy, no? After getting a closer look at the cut, I returned to the manager, told him they would not be acceptable and asked for 10 more to be printed so I could cut them myself. I did not ask for a freebie because I wanted to give him the opportunity to make things right. I was deeply disappointed when I returned for the new prints and, not only was I not offered a refund on the ruined cards, he rang me up another $10+tax for the new prints. I never even got an apology. Frankly, I got the sense from what he said that he blamed it on me somehow, but my card was just a standard postcard size card that I created using an app and he did the layout for printing himself. I try to keep my money in the community wherever I can. Most local vendors take a lot of pride in the service they provide and I appreciate it. Maybe he was just having a bad day or something. Clearly, judging from their reviews, they have made a lot of customers happy including me in my prior visits and overall, I still believe they are a good company; but I can't in good conscience return to Aurora Prints after my experience today, which makes me a little sad to be honest. read more

I always take my projects there for his advice before making a test print & I have learned so much from him over the years, & even if I have not learned what is needed, he always knows & is always patiently ready to explain. How can you find someone like that? It is a miracle! I just dropped by the other day after over a year of hiding out in my Covid Cave & am so delighted & reassured that Aurora Prints is still there, hallelujah! Never coming back here. They charge a lot ($5 for a simple scan. And $2 extra to email it, which also was not explained to me beforehand. I got five 11*17 scans. Totalled $27. Sticker shock but I figured it was a professional place and the quality would be better than I could do at home. Turned out quality was the same as my home scanner and same as scanning services at any basic office supply store or even Walgreens. I went back because I really felt I'd paid an awful lot for a service that involved a press of a button. Not to mention the additional $2 for the press of the email "send" button. When I explained the problem, that the images were not what I expected, they refused to do anything about it. So, I just think that for something that took them 1-2 minutes, they could have given me at least a partial refund. They did not lose anything by making the scan (no ink, no paper). And they cared more about keeping the crazy amount of money they charged me instead of caring about their customers, of which I will not be one in the future. read more

Over the weekend, I had a print job that needed to get done. My printers at home decided to produce the absolute worst quality I've ever seen! In a panic, I stopped by an office supply store and while they had a copier that would print from USB drive, it couldn't actually read what was on it. The panic continued and I remembered Aurora Prints. I rushed over and was greeted by a very nice staff member that was very helpful. She pointed me towards the computers which charge by the minute. After I sat down, I realized that somehow, my template had lost formatting. I asked about printing in color and she said she could print it for me in the back. Yay! She was very patient working to restore the format and my print job was perfect! Afterwards, she helped to pick out envelopes and also ended up cutting them so they fit right. Overall, it was a good visit. I got what I needed, the service was friendly, and the cost was reasonable. I won't be wasting my time going to other places anymore. Came here to get my tiny photos for my passport and the people here were quite polite and very friendly to boot. The whole process took about ten minutes, which I was pleased with, but a little displeased that the $10 for the two mini-pics weren't as glamorous as I was hoping. I had refrained from complex carbs for a few days and was clearly having a great hair day (of what is left on my balding head) but somehow still came out looking like I had just finished a non-stop Sopranos marathon in the dark while eating only popcorn and Fruit Roll Ups... By far, my favorite quick turnaround shop. I run a small company (Modern Dog) and I teach design at 2 different schools and I always send my students here. Unlike Kinkos/Fed Ex, this is a locally owned business and the owner is the guy who takes care of you. I have done business with them regularly over the last year and am always pleased with both the excellent quality of the product and their customer service. Their prices are fair- I have found them to be more affordable than many other Seattle-area competitors that I compared them with. I will continue to depend on them for all of my printing needs. We have printed everything here from restaurant menus, to event invitations (the type of quality that you'd use for a wedding), signs, posters, A-boards, business cards, pamphlets, and more and have been thrilled with the outcome every time. I often ask the owner, Abayaz, for an opinion on my work in progress when doing test prints and have come to rely on him for his honest feedback to increase the quality and professionalism of my product. Lastly, I am always amazed at what all they have in-shop for equipment and printing abilities (what they don't do they can send out)...several oversized banner printing machines, laminator, button maker, nice a-board signs, bookbinding, etc. Got some t-shirts printed there on the fly that turned out nicely too come to think of it. Visited this shop while looking for a place to print wedding invitations. I don't understand where these good reviews could possibly come from. After giving them the file to print, the clerk complained about needing to resize it smaller to print at the size we needed, which only took him about 5 seconds to do. They then provided a sample print which looked like something I could have easily printed off an Inkjet or equivalent home printer, and didn't even cut it to size. When I asked about paper options, they could not offer a sample in anything other than white, and wanted to charge me $10 to buy an entire pack of cream paper just to print the sample in that color. I didn't want to take the chance on them after dealing with the clerk's attitude and after seeing the quality of the initial print they provided. They even had the balls to charge me $3 for the sample that they did provide (A single, uncut, printed invitation on white letter paper) Unbelievable... read more
