I also like their salads, specially the avocado and toasted corn. It really reminds me of Austin and I love all the outdoor seating. They sell ice cones, but only for part of the year. I just got the literal worst latte I've ever had. I've been here before and don't recall having subpar coffee, but now I guess I realize why I haven't been back. It should have been a red flag when the barista had to check to see if they had any house made almond milk left, and then tried to hide that she was sniffing it! It didn't dawn on me what was happening until after I had already checked out. House made almond milk can go sour very quickly, so that's what she was checking for because of how old it must have been. On a beautiful day in Houston, this is a nice place you can hang out and enjoy the day and watch the world go by. The outdoor patio has a huge tree in the middle of the courtyard and two-three seat dinette sets surrounding the perimeter. Lots of locals hanging out, parking their bikes in the courtyard and trying their best to social distance. Hubby and I got two nice hot chocolates, sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Houston weather. Counter and wait staff very friendly and provided good service. However, I thought it was a phenomenal place to study or work (at least on a weekday, maybe weekends are busier). But there were plenty of tables, the wifi was great, and I didn't feel like I was in the way at all. There were a couple of casual business meetings happening around me too. The food was also delicious and they had a decent variety. The music can be a little loud so that may be why people said it's not the best for working, but I sat outside and was able to have multiple virtual meetings. If you can sit inside, there's a power strip on the back wall to plug in your laptop/phone charger. I've got to give this place props for being so cute. I love the marble tables, the pastel colors, everything in the interior. The staff was super friendly and kind too. Sadly, my loves ended there. I ordered a green drink and my friend ordered a smoothie. My green drink wasn't as cool (as in cold) as I would've liked so it didn't feel refreshing. There wasn't much in terms of flavor either; i think the veggie/fruit combos could be improved. And while the place was cute, there were maybe 5 or 6 tables, so it would be impossibly to enjoy if there was any sort of crowd. In the end, my biggest hold up was the price. Both drinks were $8 (each) and came out the size of an average small. I know fresh juices are normally expensive, but it was a TINY amount even for that! I ordered an avocado toast, an acaii bowl, and an orange juice for $18 (a bit overpriced). I waited for 15 minutes before we received my acaii bowl. The worst part it that the young lady came and just threw the acaii bowl on our table without saying a word. The acaii bowl was served room temperature and bland. I got my avocado toast five minutes after my acaii bowl. The toast was nothing special, it had more sprouts than avocado. The tables are sticky. The inside is hot, I don't think their A/C was on.
