I used to be not a big fan of the teahouse. They are a convenient cafe to study at though since they close at midnight. I tried a Passionfruit green milk tea that they had out for samples and I really liked it. I ended up ordering a Thai green cream tea. It's similar to jtea but less sweeter. It was pretty good though and I'd get it again. My friend also got their popcorn chicken which came with a chili sauce. The popcorn chicken was actually so good. It is really hot too so be careful because I almost burned my mouth. I heard they have a combo where you can get the chicken and a drink and I wish I knew that before ordering

Great service staffs friendly great location and clean washroom. Drinks are excellent, I had the combo drinks and food for $9.90 which's a great treat. Popcorn chicken is awesome 1st time guest remember to scan the QR code and update your phone number to get a free drink next visit

I love a warm comforting hot tea. The lime honey tea had a perfume taste that took time for me get used to. I wouldn't order it again but I would try a different tea.

It's yum at first sip! After a workout I was ready for a nice Boba tea and what better place than The Teahouse on my way home. This location (on Rice Blvd) has a moderate amount of traffic but private lot for parking. Nestled in between Insomnia Cookies and The Meltwich Food Co., this cute little spot has an amazing assortment of teas, so much to choose from, you can't go wrong. I selected the Passionfruit Ice Blend with Rasberry Popping Boba, so good and so refreshing - the perfect "after work out" treat. I mean, why not? This walk up location is nice and quaint with a colorful branded wall and accent shelving. Offering enough indoor seating to sit and relax with friends while enjoying your beverage. Unfortunately, there's no outdoor patio seating but where this place sits if you want to walk around and take in the scenery and people watch, you can. The Teahouse is fast with their service and they welcomed me with a warm greeting when I walked inside . I appreciate how patient they were with me while at the counter, as a first-timer, until I settled on what I wanted. Priced well for what I got, this is a place I will visit again. If you're looking for a Boba spot? Check out The Teahouse! Enjoy!

Came here and got fries and popcorn chicken! Which were good! I would come back and do their combo again. Enough for two people to share as a snack! Plus I got the taro with tapioca. Service was great people were nice and quick and easy with the order. This place was great to study, play games, hang out with friends and it was good to be there.

This is a small tea shop with prices similar to others. The tea came out really fast and tasted good. My only complaint was that there were people in the store soliciting for $20 donations. They were very pushy, and it was time-consuming trying to get out the door without being rude to them.

Ronnie was extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable and the varies of Texas that teahouse has to offer. This was an AMAZING First time Experience! I'll definitely be back! I cant wait to explore the tea menu! Being the tea Lover that I am, I love that they offer many HOT Teas. Thank you a mill Mr. Ronnie.

Pretty good thai tea here. The boba feels nice too. Freshly made hot popcorn chicken. The teahouse combo is pretty worth for a drink + food item. Guys behind the counter were chill.

SO MANY OPTIONS THAT ARE HEALTHY FOR YOUR BELLY! I tasted the Peach Cream Blend and the consistency was A1. Tasted like a milky slushy. Dont knock it until you try it. Also, great recommendations and help from the employees. My new to-go to.

TLDR: Great spot, great hours, decent boba, but not the cleanest nor the quickest. The Teahouse is a consistent spot in each location I've been to. This spot is super clutch as it's located in a great spot (rice / other restaurants & shopping nearby); however the parking can be a pain when busy. They're up late! You can rely on The Teahouse as a sweet treat for your late night cravings. My main issue with my visit is that it took roughly 20+ minutes to get one order of a boba tea in after only two or three people ahead of me.. I've been to other spots where 10 people are in line and get taken care of with a shorter staff in under 10 minutes. The interior looks a little messy as well. You can tell cleanliness is the last priority. Get your tea & stick around if you have a crew. Probably not the best spot for studying anymore.

Dan A.

The Teahouse in Rice Village is deserving of a higher overall rating. The drinks are well-made and the service is over attentive. From the extensive drink list, my favorites include the Almond Cream & Thai Green Tea.

If you came from where I came from

If I brought my cats here, it'd be The Fleahouse. If the toilet overflows? The Peehouse. And when you bring your wife here, it's The Guess-what-she's-having-an-affair-with-Mehouse. What to get: Lemon Honey Black Tea, Strawberry Black Tea, Lemongrass Over Ice. What toppings: Aloe Vera plus Strawberry Hearts, Lychee Bears or Passion Fruit Dolphins. What not to get: Student loans instead of Teahouse, homes. (We all would choose the latter) If it was in your backyard, it'd be The Treehouse. If it were the kind of "sums" I like, it'd be The Threehouse. And if this review gets censored, blame The FCC-house. If you gave this place a bad review, you had no rice to do what you did. This is a lovely location of the tea house. They are fairly new and much less busy than the one in Montrose. I'm a big fan. Now that I've tried all of the different Teahouse locations I can say that this is one of the best. They're weird about serving right before closing, unlike Montrose - and they need more tables because so many are studying here, without buying drinks, and staying all day. But in terms of drink quality they are absolutely excellent. It's never watered down like so many of the Teahouse locations are. It is becoming my go-to for fruit drinks. At the Montrose location, quality depends who is working. At this location. It's perfect every time. It's just a shame that it's not as cozy and comfortable as the Montrose location and their famous couches, although the AC here is way better. Teahouse is a godsend. This one is shiny and clean (unlike the older ones) with very friendly service, and excellent products. Their bathrooms are nice, unlike the Montrose location where they can be gross AF. That doesn't really bother me. It's fun reading what's written on the wall of the men's. (And women's wink wink). If you steal your drinks, it's The Freehouse. If you make a deal with a DA to avoid jail? The Pleahouse. And if, like me, you like to get shaken all night long by both girls and boys? The AC/DC House. So. The products. Milk teas are meh. Smoothies okay. Honeydew is pretty good. Coffee and mocha and chocolate blended smoothies are delicious and excellent. However, the real stars are the fruit teas. Especially if you get imaginative sinkers, which are absolutely delicious. Passion fruit dolphins, lychee agar bears, strawberry hearts. Boom. All three are so unique and divine, that I honestly think they are my main reason for coming here so often. And the lovely Aloe Vera. If you come in late Nov it's The Turkeyhouse. If you send fake votes from overseas to get Trump elected? The Absenteehouse. And if you're the only ten I see? It's The Tennessee House. The most original, unique, spectacular drink is the lemongrass. Get it over ice - not blended - with black tea (unless you prefer green, meh), Aloe Vera - plus one of the big 3 (bears, hearts, dolphins). Add some lime to it for extra slurps appeal. I also highly recommend the Strawberry Black tea w/ Strawberry hearts & aloe. And the heavenly Lemon Honey Black Tea w/ aloe, plus bears, hearts or dolphins. These three drinks are such brilliant standouts, and that's why Teahouse is so high in my rankings. If the greatest QB ever comes here, it's The Bradyhouse. If you're sadistic? The Marquishouse. And if you service too many ppl in the bathroom, you'll end up with The Sore-Kneehouse. Fresh Grapefruit and Tropical Fruit Tea are good, too. Both made with fresh fruits. I'm not as much into them lately, but try the former. If you stored your hives here? The Beehouse. If you sing acapella here? The Gleehouse. And if they showed TV from the UK (or were named after my girl's intimate preferences)? The BBChouse. Service here is second to none, usually. They have a policy that if you don't like your drink, get a refund or replacement as long as it's at least half full. Nobody else does that - especially not over in Chinatown. And if there's no we without you and I, it's The Jeremiihouse or The Ouihouse. And if you Ginuwine-ly love this tea? The Ponyhouse. If you're a midget who loves Mariah Carey? The Jermaineduprihouse. And if I met you in a hotel lobby masturbating with a magazine? The Darling Nikkihouse. Rice Village has a surprising lack of top stuff because it's too pretentious. Yelp lies. Rice Vill, Galleria, Heights, Midtown, Downtown, and Montrose are not where you should eat in Houston. But this is a diamond in the hipster rough, along with Lankford, Petite Sweets, Zydeco, Hot Bagel Shop, Nara, Guadalupana, Les Giv. Teahouse is my #1 place for fruit teas in the *world*, top 5 Boba in Texas (Cha Boba in League City, Tea Top Dun Huang, Pann Tea Katy, Sharetea Austin are the other 4). If they sold fancy cheese, it'd be The Briehouse. If all that sugar makes you foam at the mouth and convulse? The Seizurehouse. And if you're a boy who thinks he is straight, and you read this review and fall in love with me, then you're now in The LGBThouse.

The oat latte my friend got was creamy, well balanced and wonderful. We got the eggs, sausage, and cheese taco, chicken gumbo empanada, and the beef empanada and each one was delicious. The breakfast taco really hit the spot. Just right amount of salty, gooey cheese, and meat. Made my day. The empanadas are huge, enough for two people. Another awesome visit.

After having lunch at Loro in Kirby, I had some time to kill before some plans I had later that…read moreday. I hopped on the trust Yelp app to find a coffee shop nearby. Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.

From a chat with the barista, I learned that Duo started because the husband had a love for coffee and the wife had a passion for pilates, so they thought "why not combine the two?" The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip! I didn't adjust any sugar or ice levels like I typically do for my drinks, yet the drink was just right! Overall, I am just amazed by the people, the vision, and the gem of a place that I sort of happened into on a random weekend. I will definitely be returning again frequently for pilates, lattes, and/or fun conversations. Pro tip: initially it looks like visitors have to use street parking, but I confirmed with the staff that the parking lot across from the coffeehouse is free to use as well. Pro tip #2: there is option to order ahead with the QR code in image attached. I have not tried, but that may help skip the lines and make it easier for drink pickup.
