I recently visited Hella Bubble in Houston, Texas, located in a strip mall with a private parking lot. This place is more of a boba shop stand where you step inside to order and then leave, as there's no indoor seating and just one outdoor table. It's essentially a to-go boba shop. +Kiwi Fruit Tea w/ half sugar, light ice, and tapioca for $8.50 - This still was too sweet for me. The drink itself was very large, but I wished it had a stronger tea taste. The tapioca was fine. - 3/5 Overall, there are better boba shops in the Heights, such as Feng Cha nearby. While Hella Bubble has its merits, I most likely wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it over other options.

Great boba outside of Chinatown! I am verrrrryy picky with my boba. I like the tapioca small and it must be the right temperature so it doesn't get hard. Hella Bubble made that happen. Super easy to get in & out and get boba asap!

Hella bubble is a cozy boba shop in the heights that has all the essential drinks to fix your boba cravings. We ordered the mango and passion fruit tea and the hella bubble deluxe. The fruit tea was VERY sweet so if you don't like too sweet then definitely reduce the sugar level. The hella bubble deluxe was nice because it included FIVE toppings in the drink for only $0.30 cents more! I think that's a pretty good deal. The service was great and he made the drinks fast.

This was my first time visiting the Hella Bubble franchise and this location was smaller than I thought. There is completely no seating in the inside and just two chairs outside. However, the $7/drink was amazingly delicious and I think for the size, it's definitely worth it. But what made me not give the full 5 stars for this location was the service. I came here on Saturday, 09/10 and the staff had the most obnoxious look on their face. When I was asking questions regarding the menu and ordering, the girls looked really annoyed. I'll definitely be returning to Hella Bubble but I don't think to this location.

I was so excited to try Hella Bubble since it looked amazing on Yelp! However, this is a reminder that looks can be deceiving. The store also smelled incredible so perhaps that is why I am a bit underwhelmed by my order. I ordered Hella Bubble's famous milk green tea. The boba is bit expensive at ~$7 but I thought it would be worth it if it was good. The store's service was pretty quick and the size of the boba was good but my drink did not have much tea flavor. It seemed that my drink was mostly mango puree and milk. I felt like I was drinking some type of mango smoothie. I ordered 50% sugar and no ice because the employees said it would be cold without ice. However, I should have gotten less ice since my drink wasn't cold enough. The boba was a bit too mushy for my preference. I am used to and prefer boba that is chewy and coated with some honey so I did not enjoy the plain, soft boba. This drink might have been good for others but it was not for me.

Below par is the best compliment I can give this place. The drinks I ordered were underwhelming & quite disappointing. I decided to get two drinks which are Mango Passion fruit green tea & Thai tea with lychee jelly. The mango passion fruit green tea was weak in terms of tea flavor, I felt that they were heavy handed on the syrup which took away the flavor of the tea. I was informed by the cashier that the Thai tea is already pre made because I wanted to adjust the sweetness level. I'm assuming that it's powdered. Taste wise it was just okay & it was too sweet for my liking. I should've ordered something else when the cashier said it's pre made. This spot doesn't have indoor seating, only outdoor & it's about two tables. Overall I was not impressed at all, drinks were quite sad & service was okay. Will I come back? I'll probably give them one more chance when I'm around the area.

I can't write my best review for this location, far from it, but I can offer you my best rap, to at least be a spot of dumbshine on a Kareny day. Or Keviny day, if you prefer. Yo my name is Fox and I'm a strange Fella, I eat pretty much anything but Salmonella, F. Scott Fitzgerald's cool but I prefer Ella, And Burning Man's nice but I'd rather do Coachella. I went to the bank and there was a cute Teller, I sweet-talked him into coming to my Cellar, We role-played, I was Yoda, he was Helen Keller, He showed me how to Windmill, I taught him to Propeller. I said my diamond's so hard I make that Tiffany Jeller, He said I make sausage disappear faster than Penn & Teller, I said you make The Jam better than Paul Weller, But is it really meant to be the colour of Nutella? So then he was hungry, I was hungry as Wella, (Please no comments on my skill as a Speller), I said, there's this place where the Boba is Sweller, And I took him for some Boba from the Bubble named HELLA WHAT Unfortunately we had a very negative experience here. We are massive fans of the location near the Galleria, and of the owner, who also has locations over in San Antonio and maybe one or two more already open or on the way. But this one really rubbed us the wrong way. Long after COVID had died down in Texas, and I'm talking about 18 months after a lot of places stopped requiring masks, they still required masks according to a sign on the door, which is fine, but because I haven't been looking for those kinds of signs for a long time, since not even my mother's secret underground sex club requires masks anymore, I didn't realize. So we walked on in and were greeted with extreme hostility (i.e. I was yelled at by an employee in a mask LOL) for not having masks on. It was pretty quiet in here with nobody else in the store, so the yelling was... a surprise. Some would call it a raised voice, a firm tone, a Karen or Kevin would say I was flat out yelled at. So we were "yelled at" about the mask policy as if we were carrying a plague into the store. We hurried off to get a mask and tried not to act offended. When we came back we were treated with such disdain and anger, including both employees acting extremely passive aggressive and slamming things down on the counter and whatnot because we had walked in without masks. This all happened in 2022. We're extreme liberals, but it makes us very angry when Yelpers trash family businesses because they're "not enforcing masks" or when right wingers trash businesses because "they made us wear masks." We're not like that. Barbi doesn't like to be told to wear a mask when she's in full make up, but I never take a star off for it. However being yelled at and then treated like an enemy, long after everyone else stopped requiring masks, is too much. The milk tea came straight out of a tap (I assume it's supposed to) and didn't taste nearly as fresh or good as the ones we get (used to get) from Hella Bubble Galleria. The only reason I give them three stars is because I know that the location in The Galleria has good products and the owner is a wonderful guy. However, this location needs to have a word with its employees and I'm not sure if they intentionally made our drink bad, or they just don't make the tea fresh, but it didn't taste anything like the same product over at the original location, and I definitely won't be coming back to this location again. A lot of people look to me for Boba recommendations and I'd been recommending Hella Bubble to maybe hundreds of people for several years before this experience. I can only hope this sort of treatment and taste was an isolated incident. I know it's hard to find good help these days but this Karen and Kevin over here do not come to buy a $6 old-tasting milk tea from a pre-made container (I know everyone is doing it now but that doesn't make it a good thing), only to get yelled at. In other news - it's great to have more Boba shops in the Heights, and I'd still recommend this over Teapresso, for example. It would have been 1 star if I didn't love the owner, though. Anyway I have other reviews to JUGGLE And if I keep skipping sleep I'm gonna get UGGLE Meanwhile Barbi just wants to SNUGGLE I feel like Sean Paul with my DAILY STRUGGLE (DAILY STRUGGLE!) So come and get a Boba from HELLA BUBBLE AND DON'T UNKNOWINGLY BREAK OUR RULES OR WE'LL YELL AT YOU.

They opened a second store closer to the house! This store does not have any indoor seating, it is takeout only and there is minimal outside seating. Drinks and prices are the same as their other store. Flavors are solid, prices are slightly above average to peers.

Friend and I dropped by for our Boba fix after lunch! I got the deluxe since you get the most bang for your buck with toppings. Staff was very friendly! I usually ask for light sugar and little icd and forgot to mention the ice part but even so, they gave me a touch of ice which was nice! Cup was filled to the brim and included a stopper to prevent car ride spills. Very thoughtful! Service COVID safe (only 1 group can order at a time) Taste good, bold tea flavor Only thing is it tends to be a bit pricey ($5.80) but given the ever rising inflation, it's understandable.

First time at their heights location! It's much smaller than the river oaks one. It's more of a "grab and go" concept. Ordered my usual which is the the oolong milk tea with boba and still excellent! Tapioca was nice and qq and the milk tea was just right. Parking is within the plaza. Will be back if I am in the area!

In my hood. Heard about it on a FB group and wanted to stop in and show my support. It's on the side of a shopping plaza next to a Subway (Kroger's is the large store there) It's fairly small so they are allowing one person/party in at a time and require masks (April 2021). Order: hella bubble milk tea, mango passion fruit tea and strawberry and ice cream smoothie Hella bubble milk tea was delicious. Milk teas (for me) are always too milky or not milky enough. But this was perfect. I didn't actually want boba (not a fan) but their boba was very chewy and soft so I enjoyed them. The fruit tea was a bit sweet for me so next time I will do less sugar. First time I try a drink I like it in regular form so I can decide whether to add or subtract sugar or ice. Strawberry smoothie was made with ice cream and had lychee jelly. Heaven! The staff were very friendly. The size of the cups were pretty tall and slender. Easy to hold. I'm definitely going back to try a few other drinks.

was looking for a great place to pick up a simple and refreshing tea in the Heights. This was one of the first recommendations and thoroughly enjoyed. It. Definitely want to return to try some of their tapioca and other teas!

Parking situation is subpar in their large parking lot, one of the downsides of this plaza. It's always a pain parking to visit any restaurants in between Yale and Heights. Anyways, the interior is fairly clean and modern, the menu is small and concise and the staff of two worked hard to get drinks made quickly. I enjoyed my matcha brown sugar drink (with boba and matcha pudding). The boba had really nice texture and the matcha was also fairly heavy. I got oat milk with mine, which is nice that they're not using whole milk or milk powder. Most of the drinks are in the $6-7 range, which again is fairly standard for the nicer boba spots. It's a nice boba tea option for the Heights!

The default is less sugar which I find just right. Not too sweet and not too bland. You can definitely smell/taste the Jasmine as well.
