I was looking for a different coffee place and saw the good reviews, so I thought why not. But it was an underwhelming experience. There's little to no parking, and the seating is all outside. My barista wasnt helpful at all. I mentioned it was my first time and just got a blank stare. So I tried the seasonal iced s'mores latte, with oat milk and I added CBD. Total was $13.68, including like a $1 tip. Ridiculous but what coffee place isn't now a days. They brought it out to me, and my first thought was how gross, they touched all over the marshmallow, since it's not attached to anything. Laughable really. Of course I threw it away. Such a waste. The coffee was decent. Nothing exciting or different. I really don't recommend. A waste of time and expectations.
Nice customer service and we received our drinks very fast! There's a cute little patio area and a mural to take pictures next to! Definitely recommend this little spot!

Uncle Bean's Coffee is what I'd describe as an off the beaten path hidden gem located on the eastern outskirts of the Heights. This is a quieter side of the Heights away from the main thoroughfares. What I recommend:: Browse/Shop the book selection at Kaboom Books nearby and then head to Uncle Beans, which is located one block over. One afternoon, I went to Uncle Bean's and ordered a peach iced tea, which was wonderful. The tea had just a hint of sweetness, so the peach flavor really stood out. I love how this outdoor coffee house is decorated, and the person who took my order was really cool and friendly. Such a wonderful place!
Happened upon this spot and we were pleasantly surprised with the additive options (soy/oat/alt mills, CBD/MCT/etc). There's one parking spot with a walk up/drive through concept. Ample seats, just hard to park as the street it is on is very busy! Staff was friendly and helpful for us to make a decision. We got a lavender iced latte with oat milk and MCT and a winter spice latte with oat milk - totaling out to about $16 before tip. We'll be back :)
LOVE this cute neighborhood coffee joint! They have seasonal drinks created by the employees, breakfast tacos, and breakfast sandwiches. The outdoor seating area is beyond amazing. Parking: Street or just go through the drive through if street parking is impossible. Recommend: iced vanilla latte!
I was drawn here by the iced horchata latte and very excited to taste it. Really nothing to say about the location or staff but that drive through road is bumpy lol. Pretty quick service and super cute cup sleeves. As an iced latte goes I'd give it a 8.5/10 I was satisfied with it. But the horchata was not very noticeable in it which was disappointing. It's likely however they're making the horchata. Definitely would like to come back and try some of their other drinks and even their food menu some time!
The expresso itself was really good But they put too much water or milk in it It diluted the whole thing making the latte super watery And lack of coffee flavor very disappointing
Great place for coffee and reading outside on a nice day! Stopped by because the weather was perfect for sitting outside and wanted to read a book. For coffee, I went with the iced horchata latte, which was really tasty! I love the flavors or the rice milk and the spices and it wasn't too sweet. I also got a spinach, mushroom, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich which comes on an English muffin and is nice and warm with the cheese melted. It was satisfying and hit the spot! There are tables and chairs under a shaded area and there's also wifi available. No public bathroom. There's also a drive thru if you want to pick up quickly! Plenty of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Parking: about 2 spots, rest is street parking Staff: friendly and explained when asked Price: coffee average Taste: it was good, I personally didn't taste the coffee, I will most likely ask for an extra shot of expresó next time. This is a little coffee shop in the heights area. They have some outside seating. There is a drive through that's a bit bumpy. There is a walk up window to place orders as well. There was outside seating. This is a quiet area to have a coffee on a Houston winter or spring day. I gave 4 stars because my coffee was not filled to the top. I looked at several other pictures of their iced coffee and that was also how their cups were filled. But for 7.50ish I would like those other ounces of my drink. I did like the coffee though and the lady at the window was friendly.
This is my favorite heights coffee shop so far! It's only a 10 minute bike ride so we love that. The service has always been friendly and quick. On Valentine's Day I got a mocha latte with strawberry syrup and it was sooo good I hope it's there longer than just February. The pumpkin chocolate chip muffin is also amazing.

Even though they upcharge, I appreciated the variety of plant-based milk and the use of local honey. Sidenote: I'd recommend all coffee bars consider ditching the upcharge for alternative/plant-based options. Uncle Beans also offers noncoffee essentials such as teas, smoothies, pastries, and light breakfast options. I loved their "Kiddos" menu, which has been a rare sight in my coffee shop experience but a concept I support. While the menu is standard, Uncle Beans sets itself apart with its unique additives (collagen, MCT oil, Tumeric), which greatly benefit skin, body, and overall wellness. They also offer CBD as an additive which is growing in popularity in coffee culture and the Houston community. The CBD additive is about $4.00. I added it to a vanilla and lavender latte with oat milk. I forgot to tell the barista my size preference, but they gave me a small. The total came to $11.91, which is a bit pricy for a small with one additive. Nonetheless, I encourage folks who visit Uncle Beans to try the additive for the experience and exposure to holistic pathways for wellness. The vanilla and lavender latte was a typical latte. Nothing too special stood out in the flavor, and I did appreciate the CBD blended well, so there wasn't an odd taste or any unpleasant aftertaste. Seating + Amenities Uncle Bean's seating is on an outdoor patio that is well decorated and equipped with fans and top/side covering for hot Houston days or those odd winters where it's cold in the city. It's a place you can sit outside and have a coffee any time of year. Uncle Beans offers Free Wifi for customers; however, I wouldn't consider it "remote work-friendly" if you're a person who gets distracted easily by surrounding noise. The patio sits along Houston Ave, which has moderate, consistent traffic flow, so you'll hear some of the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. If the noise doesn't bother you and you're an admirer of victorian style homes, the views of the surrounding neighborhood would be an excellent window for you to work in front. Uncle Beans doesn't offer a public bathroom, which may affect your ability to work remotely for an extended period. An aesthetic highlight is the container mural nestled alongside the drive-thru. It's a dope recreation of the iconic Beatles Abby Road photo, but instead of the Beatles, it's a group of dogs. For sure Instagram-worthy. Uncle Beans also offers a community board, which I appreciate of any business. Sidenote: All coffee shops should have community boards. It shows that community folks are coming into local businesses and using them as hubs to spread awareness, connect with people, provide opportunities, etc. Parking Uncle Beans is clever in having a drive-thru attached. I haven't seen many local coffee shops with multiple "on the go" concepts outside of a walk-up window; however, Uncle Beans manages an efficient drive-thru while cultivating a space where patrons can sit and enjoy the feels of indulging at a locally owned shop. Also, a great way to stay in business in the event of another shutdown. The trade-off for the drive-thru seems to be the limited parking available on site. Spaces are quite limited, and for those that do exist, they don't appear defined as actual parking, rather than "customer made," which can be confusing. There is a good amount of parking directly across the street along Houston Ave (moderately busy), which makes for a quick hop over and the opportunity to keep an eye on your vehicle while you sit. Parking along Alma street is also a choice; however, the road is tiny and requires you to park almost in the yards of the homes on the street. There is a bike rack available for my bikers. The staff was friendly; however, the first time I came, I waited quite some time, even with an empty line. I'm not sure if the staff didn't see me through the glass divider or if the shop were short-staffed, but it took some time to be acknowledged to place an order. The second time I visited, the line was empty again, and the staff quickly got my order.
Any coffee place with a drive-thru is an immediate bonus. The service here was also super fast! I ordered an Iced Caramel Delight which was coconut and caramel flavored. I personally don't like coconut because it tends to overpower other flavors, but this drink was extremely good! The coconut was subtle and I could still taste the caramel. The drive-thru is a little tight, and I didn't see much parking, but I would definitely walk by for some coffee read more
Love the location and we went on a perfect day for sitting outside. No indoor seating but very convenient ordering and they have a drive thru. I had a cold brew shandy (cold brew coffee and lemonade) which was perfect and my companion had a chocolate strawberry latte, tasted somewhere between chocolate covered strawberries and a nostalgic glass of Quick. The service was helpful with recommendations. Proximity to Kaboom Books is fantastic. read more

Nice little coffee shop in the Woodland Heights neighborhood that seems to emphasize to-go service rather than sit-down. While there is an outdoor patio with tables and chairs, there is no indoor seating, and all orders are taken from either a walk-up window or drive-thru window. Parking is a bit of an issue as there are only two parking spots, with one of them being a handicap space, so you'll most likely need to find street parking if not going through the drive-thru. Space issues aside, for such a small shop, they have a menu with a wide variety of options that includes your standard coffee options, several kinds of tea, kombucha, smoothies, and seasonal coffee concoctions in addition to a small selection of pastries, tacos, and other small bites. I had the iced horchata latte, which was absolutely delicious and which I highly recommend. Unfortunately, they were out of tacos when I was there so I did not end up sampling any food. The only reason I give this 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the lack of indoor seating and ordering windows. I went on a rainy day and had to knock on the "employees only" door to order because the walk-up window, while having a fabric tarp over it, would still have gotten me soaked had I ordered from there. It would be good if they could relocate the walk-up window to underneath the covered patio or put a more substantial covering over the area where the current window is so that one can order regardless of the elements at the time. Additionally, due to the lack of indoor seating and associated outlets, this is a spot definitely more for reading and socializing than working. That, however, doesn't stop it from being a good place to pick up some coffee on the go or to hang out with friends. read more

drove by noticed and decided to try a new coffee place. The coffee is fantastic. There's a cool neighbourhood vibes converted petrol station. They used also have seasonal menu and several choices on everything. Dog friendly drive through a breezy patio. What a difference. Came in today .03.Feb.21 tried to order but was ignored by staff, who walked every so often with drinks for people who had probably given up. A truly a dismal experience. There are too many such places in the Heights to suffer this move on to the next place read more
I went some months ago ain't gone lie. I had seen it a couple times before and tried going but every time the line was long as hell so i didn't. The drive through is hard to drive through cause it's all rocks and it's narrow. This coffee was like $7 and not that great to be honest. I won't be coming back but at least I tried it. Looks like a nice place to chill outside though. read more
Great customer service and great coffee as well! Swung by this morning for my coffee pick me up. They have so many seasonal specials right now, I decided to get the strawberry dipped mocha latte with strawberry syrup and dark mocha sauce. It was really good and wasn't too sweet between the syrup and mocha sauce. I've had their other drinks in the past as well and haven't had anything I didn't like. My usual to go to is the lavender latte. read more

Great local spot to stop by for a quick caffeine fix either via their walk up window or drive thru. Nestled in a neighborhood, if you drive in and want to enjoy their patio you will likely need to utilize street parking as there is only a couple of dedicated spots. But, the effort is worth it for the extensive menu of old standards and seasonal favorites plus friendly service. I opted for the seasonal iced sugar cookie latte and blueberry cream cheese danish. There is plenty of patio seating to hang out and enjoy your order. Cost seemed a bit high; my two items came to $10, but I think it is worth it to support local. read more

A go-to sanctuary for good vibes Hospitable, sincere service, great snacks and YUMMY COFFEE!!!!! I got to go by there last Sunday while I needed to grieve, and the closing staff let me have my space and time. Thank you Uncle Bean's Coffee! read more
What attracted me was the cute ass pink coffee sleeves and what's kept me has been the cute ass pink coffee sleeves... Love a good iced oat milk latte and a DRIVE THRU lazies of houston, come here! Well maybe don't cause I feel like it's a little hidden gem of our side of town and I like that They are so friendly and always give my dog a treat. And tbh he's kind of a picky treat eater and he gobbles these down so that's saying a lot. I've really only ever been on weekend mornings before noon but crowds are a' coming and it's busier each time I go! Love you uncle bean's read more

Finally made it to Uncle Beans Coffee after having an Instagram post of their fruity pebble latte saved for about half a year. Wish I'd gone sooner!! This gem of a coffee shop is tucked away in the Woodland Heights neighborhood and feels like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Houston. The shop itself doesn't have any indoor eating, but we got lucky with some beautiful weather that made sitting on the (parking lot) patio very pleasant. Just the right amount of traffic for a Saturday late morning, which was definitely a +1 for the vibe. The other customers there around the same time were extremely friendly and it gave the coffee shop a very neighborly feel. Sadly for me, the fruity pebble latte was no longer in season (the owner tells me that they usually have that one around pride month), but I still found an appropriately themed specialty drink - The Almond King Cake Latte made with oat milk. I ordered it iced, and they served it with a super cute purple, gold, and green sugar rim. Definitely enjoyed my drink and my experience here. Will be back! read more
Love this walk up/drive thru coffee stand! Patio furniture are adorable and all different with a retro wall design. They have plenty of fans going but not enough to beat the Houston heat. Once it gets cooler I imagine a lot more people will be lounging outside. Other than the drive through, you'll find plenty of street parking. I highly recommend the iced matcha latte. Not to sweet and the right amount matcha came through! Chai latte was also good but didn't steal my taste buds as much as the matcha. Ruben took our order, made our drinks, brought them to where we were sitting, and even told us about this cool dog place that sells CBD doggie treats! Mad shout out to tha man Ruben! read more
We stopped by one of our favorite used book stores and found covid had changed the days they were open, today they were closed and somebody opened up a very nice coffee shop a few doors down. They have a drive thru and a walk up window. They also have covered outside seating which we enjoyed for a short time. The frappe/blended frozen coffee drink they made my wife was very tasty, could've been a tad thicker. Our buddy hesitantly asked for an iced Americano.....the last few places she got this sucked....today's was a winner....it got her seal of approval. I almost always judge a new coffee place by their hot cappucino, excellent drink. We will be back for more great coffee done well. Great friendly baristas. They have a connex/small storage container with a dog and cat version/mural of the Abbey Road album cover painted on the side. read more

Hardest thing here is parking.... Really hard to find parking but you can park in the streets,,, if you're okay with leaving your baby (car) there. Other than that great service, lovely decorations and AMAZING COFFEE!! I recommend the Matcha Latte, incredibly addictive! Also since it's october being outside is great, lovely weather. and good to do homework in! definitely recommend coming here ! :-) read more
