Nut allergy friendly, no issues here. Recommend to check the Order Online to get a full sense of their menu and what they can do. Plenty of parking, huge strip mall. Arrived at 9:18PM. Ordered a large double coconut with mango pearls and Oreo foam (friend's order) and a large oolong milk tea with 30% sweetness and boba (my order). Drinks out in four minutes or so and I was the only one there. The large Oolong tea was okay. Decent tea flavor (3/5). Boba was a little too stiff for my liking (2.5/5). Friend thought the double coconut was okay. The Oreo foam is actually just Oreo crumbles on top of foam, I think, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, happy that there are finally some boba options in the Heights but it's an average spot that doesn't stand out from other independent boba spots. read more

I really wanted to like Gong Cha, especially since there aren't any It's Boba Time locations around here and I was craving a solid milk tea. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown. The drink itself was incredibly mediocre honestly, it tasted like something I could have made at home. For nearly $8 (adding boba is extra ), I expected a lot more depth of flavor and quality. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't worth the price point. What really threw me off, though, was the smell inside the store. I had planned to sit down and get some work done, but I couldn't stay. There was a very odd, funky odor -- almost like when clothes sit in the washing machine too long and start to sour. I'm not sure what it was, but it was strong enough to be distracting and pretty off-putting. Overall, between the bland drink and the unpleasant atmosphere, this location missed the mark. I hope they address the cleanliness issue because the experience just didn't justify the cost. read more

Delicious dragon fruit mango milk tea! I love trying new things and this one did not disappoint. A little on the sweet side, but that's to be expected. This one they could not adjust the sweetness, but they did give me less ice. It's creamy and yet fruity at the same time with little chunks of the dragon fruit so it doesn't really need Boba or any other toppings. I highly recommend this drink at gong Cha. It was very clean inside too. read more

Cute cafe with lots of seating inside. They also have free WiFi if you want to come in and do some work. Great lounge ambience music that's not too loud. It's fairly quiet during the day when they aren't as busy. This location is in a plaza in the heights next to other restaurants and grocery stores so it's convenient to stop by if you want something refreshing. I opted for a lighter drink (sparkling lychee with mango popping pearls) it was really nice and refreshing. I asked for half sugar and light ice and it was made just as I requested. Service is decent the baristas are nice. You can spend a few minutes here or a few hours depending on your vibe. read more

I had a really terrible experience at Gong Cha in the Heights on Shepherd. First of all, the place smelled really awful as soon as I walked in. Then, the customer service was extremely rude. When I ordered my drink, it was way too sweet, and when I asked to have it changed, the staff member was really unhelpful. She told me I would have to buy a whole new drink. On top of that, the lid of the cup wasn't secure, and when I put it in the car, it spilled everywhere. Overall, it was a very disappointing visit. read more

This Gong Cha location is located in the Heights. As Gong Cha is now a well known chain not only throughout Houston, but known worldwide, my expectations are standard across franchises. To my own personal preference, I tend to cycle between cravings of caffeinated drinks varying between milk tea or coffee. With that disclaimer put forward, Gong Cha's Earl Gray 3J reignited my cycle. The toppings between the boba, herbal jelly, or egg pudding pairs complementary with the earl gray milk tea and will find myself here more than two days in a row. Additionally, with the matcha craze nowadays, Gong Cha is not a place that should be forgotten about. Their matcha is on the sweeter side (to my preference) and has been my favorite place to get matcha lately. Overall, will be seeing me here frequently. read more

Decent location on between shepherd and Durham in the heights, they were quick with making the orders and the drinks came out as expected. The interior is super sterile clean feeling and the music was traditional Chinese (I think). That's an odd choice, kinda ruins the ability to come and study or just hang out and sip your drink for a while. Honestly that's the only thing I had a problem with, I like the option of playing a board game or listening to some Indy Dream Pop while I drink my boba tea. Stopped by since we spotted them from across the street at crawfish cafe! I will say I do enjoy the location and parking situation. The area needs more boba shops so I'm glad Gong Cha is here! Super cute interior and easy to read menu! It was my first time here so I got the earl gray milk tea with 3 Js (grass jelly, egg pudding, and boba). This drink really hit the spot for an afternoon treat. I do also love all these 3 mixins (they're usually my to go tos with boba) so I'm glad they had a drink with all 3! Great amount of table space & Drinks are good too- but there is this weird sickening smell that I had to try to overcome to order & stay to get some work done before heading to PB nearby. I made a nice comment about that there's an interesting smell in here- it wasn't addressed and was ignored. Don't think they were happy to have heard the comment. This place is one of the closer boba shops that I mapped to. But I don't know if I'll be coming back with this awful smell of dead rats or something. I think they knew it too hence the plug ins that's in the outlets. Smells like Wan Po Tea in Katy with stinky under the mask of Air fresheners. I'll buy drinks there and quickly run out and hope my tummy doesn't go achy after. I usually can deal with sweaty BO from the gym and people...but this is a whole different level and in a food/ drink establishment is NOT GOOD... but if you don't have a sensitive nose to air freshener cover ups- then this is an awesome place. Bathrooms are ok. They have no-touchy towels with sensors so that is a big plus. I think they mopped their floors and the stink could have came from the mop water...who knows. But if you sit long enough...your nose kinda gets used to it and it'd less revolting. I'm so glad the Heights is finally getting more boba places! Now I don't always have to drive to Chinatown for boba. This is in such a great location with easy access and plenty of parking. It shares a huge parking lot with Kroger and other restaurants/shops in the plaza. My favorite drinks to get from here are the wintermelon milk tea and matcha milk tea. I always adjust to 50% sugar and less ice. It's just the right amount of sweetness. I also get regular pearls for my topping. read more

The coffee milk tea tastes just like the name. I wondered if the coffee part would be too diluted, but it tasted just like mixing strong Asian coffee with milk tea. Gong Cha is one of my favorite bobba place. There's a spot near our place in the heights and now we visit here often. My favorite drink is the strawberry milk tea and you can't really go wrong with any strawberry included drinks here. They are all good. My wife's favorite is the taro milk tea. Once you picked the flavor, you can also change the sweetness level and the ice level, so don't be surprised if the servers ask you about these things. If you aren't particular about the drinks then its perfectly fine to go with regular sweet and ice level! Give this place a go if you like bobbas! read more

dirty brown sugar milk tea - $5.75 (medium) plus 50c tapioca- so good! I've gotten this the last 3 times from Gong Cha. The tapioca pearls here are very good too - soft and chewy. I typically would get the coffee crema from Sharetea, but this reminds me of it. It has the milk foam on top, which adds a bit of saltiness. Bf's go-to is the creme brulee brown sugar milk tea. I think mine is sweeter though, and that's why I like it. Plenty of parking. Next to pho Ben and kroger. Only reason for the 4 stars is that milk tea can get so expensive now :( read more

I had a very disappointing experience with the customer service. The employees completely ignored my request for my drink. I specifically asked for extra ice, but I was given light ice instead. I asked for a cup of ice, and the employee told me to ask another employee. Seriously? She didn't even know where the cups were. read more

There are a few chairs inside, but there's more seating outside. Parking lot available with ample spaces. It is shared with the other businesses so be mindful of what time you go. They have many table games too, although when we tried two of them, they either were missing parts of had broken parts and we could not play.

Good drinks, friendly service, and nice open seating area…read more So far I've tried the matcha with coconut juice drink and cashew avocado smoothie. Both delicious! I can tell that the owners are putting a lot of attention and care in their establishment. The menu is creative and covers more than just matcha and coffee - it goes into baked goods and even a rice plate meal. The restrooms are very clean and well managed. The staff looks like a determined team aimed to succeed. Well done! If I had to be picky, minor improvements can be for the tables to be periodically wiped down and cleaned. There were a few wet spots and a finished tray of food, but perhaps the staff was just a bit busy at that point. Overall, doesn't stop me from wiping my own table before sitting and enjoying my drink with the wifey!

I appreciated her honest advice and got the dragonfruit strawberry refresher instead. It was definitely refreshing with the perfect amount of ice to keep it cold but not water it down. I also tried one of the mini croissants which is probably what will keep me coming back. Flaky and full of high quality cheese and spices, I wish I had gotten two! I'll definitely come back at an earlier time since a lot of the pastries were sold out.
