If it was in your backyard, it'd be The Treehouse. If it were the kind of "sums" I like, it'd be The Threehouse. And if this review gets censored, blame The FCC-house. What to get: Lemon Honey Black Tea, maybe the coffee drinks and the Strawberry Black Tea. What toppings: Aloe Vera plus Strawberry Hearts, Lychee Bears or Passion Fruit Dolphins. What not to get: Student loans instead of Teahouse, homes. (We all would choose the latter) This is a very friendly location of Teahouse down next to the stadium, NRG Stadium that is. They make good products, and there are several items on the menu that we love. There's a good couple of dozen locations of The Teahouses all over the city, and some are bad and some are good, and this is one of the ones that we would say is definitely good. Not as good as my fave over in Rice Village, but still very good. And if I brought my cats here, it'd be The Fleahouse. If the toilet overflows? The Peehouse. And when you bring your wife here, it's The Guess-what-she's-having-an-affair-with-Mehouse.

Thai Green Tea 50% sweet with boba

I am always craving thai green tea, and teahouse does it sooo well!! It is one of the few places I can find thai green tea, so I always come for that! I get it 50% sweet with boba, and it is a perfect treat to the day! As far as the other drinks, I have tried some fruit and milk tea that were not bad but probably would not be my go to place for them. But if you want a good thai green tea then definitely recommend!!

I was running errands and had a craving for Thai tea. Thankfully, I saw this spot was nearby and thought that I could be in and out in about 10 minutes. I was completely wrong. I walked in and inside had about 4 customers (2 seated/already serviced, 2 ahead of me in line). The customers ahead of me didn't seem to order anything excessive or complicated, so I didn't think much of the fact that my server said that my tea would take "a couple of minutes". A couple of minutes = 20+ minute wait time. I don't understand how somewhere with should slow customer traffic at the time (no DoorDash orders either) would take so long to make a Thai tea. Not convinced to return, but I hope their speed increases because this place has so much potential.

This place is my go-to study spot, just because it is quiet, clean and affordable. Service is alright, but that's really all you need for a boba place. They offer free wifi and do allow students to work there, which is really nice of them! Halloween decorations are up as well, which I find is a cute touch to an otherwise aesthetic cafe. Prices are decent and affordable (thank god, 7 dollars for a drink is really breaking my bank) As for the food, I've had a taro milk tea and a Thai green tea here so far, and they're pretty good. The popcorn chicken is pretty good as well. I'd recommend getting it as spicy as possible, because it's not super strong. The Thai tea had some strong caffeine, which I really needed. It's hard to find a good boba spot, within walking distance, that can satisfy a good craving and provide a good place to work!

Prices here are cheaper than other boba tea. Drinks are ok not bad at all. Very close to medical center and the NRG stadium.

Teahouse is one of the typical drink places for boba and smoothies, but the experience you have really varies depending on the location you go to. In general, I like that they have a variety of flavor options, and you can customize your sugar and ice level. They also have some non-dairy options. I've tried many flavors from Teahouse including Thai tea, hazelnut cream tea, roasted rice green tea, taro cream blend, and matcha cream tea. When they're made well, they all taste really good, but again, this is dependent on who's making the drinks that day. At this particular location, the drinks are usually pretty decent, but they make them less sweet than other places do at the same sweetness level. Parking is easy to find. When it's safe to again, there's usually some nice little tables to study at, but it can get a little loud.

One store down from Akashi (Chinese restaurant) so could be a good after lunch/dinner pick me up. Parking is ample as with everything in this very large strip mall which contains Akashi, Olive Garden, Dimassi's, Ross, Asahi Sushi, and so so much more. More than possibly can be named in one review. One of many, many of the same chain of tapioca joints in town. It's new so still very clean, and the decorations are just adorable with the neon signs and such. They've even decorated for the holidays with little paper santa hats and bottle brush trees and it just makes the whole place seem very festive. Another thing to note is that for the first time at a Teahouse I saw that all the staff were non-asians. Go Teahouse for being inclusive! There's board games as with most other Teahouse locations; and a sign asking for donations of gently used games. This location is rather, small so not great for hanging out for long periods of time with large parties. They do have outlets but only 2 that I could see and they're both in tall tables to the right just as you enter.

I also liked how they had a book table sectioned off where customers could borrow books. I ordered the Iced Pistachio Vanilla latte with oat milk so that I could catch up on work for finals. Overall, it was a tasty drink, but I wish the pistachio/nutty flavor had been a bit more prominent, and it felt more like a regular vanilla latte. Compared to other coffee shops, the prices here were reasonable given the size of the cup, so kudos for that, especially in this economy... CoffeeTrend also serves cocktails, which is another neat feature about this place. :)

The atmosphere is calm, authentic, and actually enjoyable to sit in .... not just aesthetically pleasing for Instagram aura farming. There's a nice balance of hip music and that natural coffee shop buzz, without it feeling forced or overdone. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, catch up with a friend, or get some work done without feeling like you're in a photoshoot. When I visited, there was a friendly group of grandpas catching up over a cup of joe, and their laughter filled the shop in an endearing/ wholesome way. The drinks definitely live up to the vibe. I ordered a strawberry iced blondie latte, which came out to $7.25 before tip, and honestly, it was reasonable compared to a lot of chain spots these days. The menu overall sits in that moderate price range, so you don't feel like you're getting robbed for a good cup of coffee. My friend (and trusted Yelper) went for the avocado toast and immediately confirmed it was worth the hype, which is always a good sign. Overall, La Tazza feels like it knows exactly what it's doing without trying too hard. Good drinks, solid food options, and a space that actually feels like a coffee shop, not a trend-slop experiment like some other shops around town. Basically, it's the kind of place you go for one drink and accidentally stay for two hours...which in turn might be the highest compliment a coffee shop can get from me!!!

The layout of the interior was slightly confusing, you have to walk all the way to the back left corner to order your coffee, and it was next to the restrooms. (Thank God the restrooms were clean.) I ordered the vanilla latte (kind of like the safe thing to order at a new place?) and to be honest, first sip was a disappointment. The barista prepared it well, it was not burnt, but the issue is when you do have someone prepare it well and it still doesn't turn out well means there's an issue with the quality itself. It fell flat in terms of flavor. The espresso overpowers the flavor of everything else. Which normally is a good thing, but usually in lattes I'm expecting a nice mix of syrup, milk, and espresso. The bitter of the espresso takes over the latte. I'm sure this place had some other delicious choices, but this was not the coffee shop for me.

Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.
