The Boba itself was good, but the bear cups you get to keep is to die for. There are also a few games in the shop so you can hang out and play. What really made our trip was the barista. I hope I get the name right, but I believe her name was Jay! She is really personable and cares about the company. She told us that this is the second location and the other location is a boba & hooka bar that she worked at for a long time. They also host anime events often. I tried the thai iced tea with boba and thought it was fine, but not much tea volume for the price, if I'm honest. My partner tried the peach white tea and also thought it was fine. I will say, the boba to tea ratio is high here, so if you love the actual beads more than the liquid, you won't be disappointed. Disappointing. I was in Hollywood early for a callback this morning, and wanted to treat myself to a Boba Iced Coffee. I Yelp'd boba and the number one spot that came up from reviews was Bearology Hollywood. Now I have never heard of this place, and was so excited to see their BEAR themed drinks. They unfortunately didn't open until 11 am. It was about 10:30 am so I ran an errand in Los Feliz nearby. I arrived back at Bearology and waited in my car on Cahuenga blvd. parked right in front to hopefully notice some life. I got out at 11:02 walked up to the door and tried to open it. It was locked. The windows are poorly covered and you can't see anything besides their add to go to the hookah bar next door. This was frustrating. I tried the hookah bar. Also locked. I walked next door and the raw vegan restaurant told me they've experienced similar patrons asking if their neighbors were open. Even DoorDash drivers having issues getting drinks. I decided to call the number since I had already paid for parking. Apparently they opened the lock moments after I tried to open the door. Fine, I go in and try to order the drinks. The kiosk is still powered off as is the computers and most of the drink establishment. The worker was kind, and nice. I asked if they were open they said yes, still setting it up. I asked for two iced coffee's in the cute bear cups...they said sure and continued to turn on the register/computers. I asked for boba in one of them, and they told me the tapioca/boba wouldn't be ready for another 45 minutes... Just disappointing. I said I'd come back another time. I might. Was searching for a place with coffee after coming out of a show at the Pantages. Found Bearology nearby, which is a tea and coffee shop. This small shop is located along N Cahuenga Blvd, across the street from Popeye's. It's a small shop and parking is limited to street parking which may be hard due to the location. It's easy to miss which is why I assume there was a large BOBA banner out front to help identify the shop. Very boba cafe shop-esque, with pink painted walls and a couple of tables along the wall. The shop itself is small but, when it's not busy it's nice to have the place to yourself. There's also a cool claw machine game in the corner near the front. Ordering was easy. You can use the kiosk to order and most of the options to customize your drink were there. I say that because we ordered the cold brew and the girl behind the counter was super helpful in letting us know the cold brews could be made with a choice of milk and sweetener which weren't in the kiosk. She was really nice and also let The cold brews were perfect. Sweetened jist right with the honey syrup. And the coffee was just strong enough too. Our server forgot the aloe but we went back to let her know. She corrected it AND gave us as metal straw. I think that's good customer service for a mistake that can happen to anyone. You can choose to get the drinks in a mason jar but why?! The bear cups are good quality so planning to reuse them! Even though the main seating area is cute and clean, both bathrooms were not clean. I would say simple is best for this store. The jasmine milk tea and fruit tea weee perfect, but the shimmer drink was just okay. My cousin got the shimmer drink because he wanted the One Piece bottle, but I don't think it was worth it because we all tried the shimmer drink and couldn't taste it. If you're looking for a cute bottle, I recommend the simpler drinks. So I have tried a few places around the city. But last week I was visiting a friend in Hollywood and was feeling parched on my three block walk from the metro station to her apartment. So I made a quick detour down Cahuenga Blvd right off of Hollywood Blvd to grab a refreshing strawberry / mango lemonade concoction with boba. I don't know if I have ever had boba in a drink that wasn't milk based before but on this hot day I was in need of something refreshing and this hit the spot. Muddled strawberries in anything... sign me up! In addition to what I got, they have the regular milk tea drinks and some funky shimmery drinks as well. This place is an Instagrammer's paradise for sure! I think this location is on the newer side as I have never seen it here before, granted I am not usually hanging around Hollywood Blvd as I don't live over there. But there were hardly any customers in this brightly lit pink shop. There was one barista and some fun jams coming from the speaker behind the counter. It's definitely a minimalistic type of place but also had just the right vibe for a Sunday afternoon. So whether you are hitting up the Farmers Market nearby on a Sunday or are lucky enough to live within walking distance for a daily boba fix, you should check out Bearology Hollywood. First of all, good luck finding parking. There are various street parking spots surrounding this location, however, they are metered, charging a few dollars per hour. The drinks were very good. I tried their Mango Coconut White Tea, which was excellent. I ordered it less sweet, so the tea was more pronounced. It was refreshing and perfect for warmer weather! I would love to come back and try their other menu items. Whenever I visit I always buy their glass drinkware; I love their brand's Boba jars because they are designed well and are so cute. The shop itself is quite trendy; decorated with florals and various colors. In particular they have this wall by the entrance that's decorated with flowers and other decor that's for the Gram. The baristas are also very nice and work very hard. However, I did not see a tip jar when I first visited, so I ended up giving my tip to the baristas directly while they were making drink after drink on a busy Saturday morning. When my previous coworker, Phia S and I met up in LA as a halfway point between Santa Barbara and Orange County. I suggested a pre-dinner snack... Sure enough, Bearology came to mind. Conveniently off Cahuenga and Hollywood Blvd, you can't miss the signage. Upon entering, you think you had entered Barbieland. Pink, pink, pink all around! Thankfully it was nicely done to where you didn't feel as if you were in a Pepto-Bismol factory. Every which way is quite Instaworthy. Step up to the register and take a peek at the Not-So-Secret Menu for new, current creations. The menu alone has a large variety of drinks including Milk Teas and Coffees, Smoothies and Slushies, Iced Teas and Lemonades, and Shimmering Drinks (no idea what the latter is). I knew I wanted a simple iced drink with boba on this warm summer day. The employee helped me decide; plus there are stars next to the most popular drinks to help you narrow down the choice. I ordered the Mango Peach Lemonade Tea plus boba. It was truly perfect: fruity with slight acidity and bitterness of tea. Of course, you can't help but love the adorable plastic Bear jar your drink is served in. They supply a thick boba straw to puncture the protective layer of the cover. If you return with your bear jar, they give you 10% off your order. My one small complaint is there was no garbage or recycling bin; only a mini bear trash can on the counter for small items (i.e. straw wrapper and not much else). The only thing you get from this is the aesthetic, which isn't even all that great. It's located in the worst area, you place the order yourself on a screen (which isn't the worst thing but you'll see why it's mentioned later), and the service was bad. Well, how is the service bad if you took your own order? Well, if I place my order and you're only making the order then I don't think it's much to ask for you to get the order correct. Two drinks at that, nonetheless, with absolutely no rush as there wasn't a customer before or after us. The drinks are watered down and the boba has no flavor.
