I couldn't go to LA without trying Erewhon at least once. I wanted to try all the viral items. My coworker and I shared the crispy rice sushi, Hailey Bieber smoothie, and steak plate. I'm from Hawaii, so the crispy rice sushi did not impress. The fish wasn't super fresh, and the rice was soggy. The Hailey Bieber smoothie was a hit though. It was a good texture and not too sweet. For our steak plate, we got the Mac and cheese and buffalo cauliflower as the sides. This was delicious, but it was also $47, which is the price of a fairly nice dinner. I'm glad I got to try everything to say I've been to Erewhon, but the prices are outrageous. I do like how there is a lot of outdoor seating and its convenient location next to the Grove to do some shopping afterwards.
My friend was visiting from out of town so she had to try the strawberry skin glaze aka Hailey Bieber smoothie. I've had it before so I didn't have high expectations as it's overhyped but a thing you have to try. It's $21 which is insane. It's good but not worth the price. I don't remember it being so banana forward tasting which kind of ruined it. I'd be open to trying the megan moroney or Gary brecka smoothies!
I didn't mean to come here. I genuinely thought I was going to the WeHo store lol. All good, got to check another location off the list, leaving 2 stores I haven't been to. To be fair, I tried to check out B Hills but it was chaotic af, I was doing a test drive and didn't want anything to happen to the car trying to find parking so I said screw it. This may be as close as I get and that's fine. I know it's a photo op for many, but this is my market of choice. I truly am a fan. Thankfully parking was easier here, I got a spot by the door and went in. Given that it was a Sunday, I appreciated it. I know it's the OG so it's nice to finally pay my respects. Understandably the layouts a bit different and I'm here for it. I'm not used to seeing the soup right by the door. I got some broccoli at the hot bar I'd never seen before, yum! I wish I saw it more. They had my beef chili, eggs I've never seen. Though I'm over the hold my beer on egg prices. I tap out with my $15 Erewhon dozen. Store was clean as always, staff was kind, loads of people as always, but I didn't need priority checkout bc the line was nonexistent when I checked out. It was probably harder to get out than in, but nothing I don't deal w at the Pasadena store. I still want to go back to WeHo, but I'm happy I finally made it here. Is this place part of my personality, ya. Do I care, nope! I'll come back, especially if I get confused about which store I'm going to lol.
Now that they've been around for a number of years, it's a well known fact that Erewhon is as famous for their celebrity endorsed smoothies as they are notorious for their astronomical prices. If a trip to Whole Foods earns them the nickname "Whole Paycheck", Erewhon will probably cost you your monthly rent. And yet, like a moth to a flame, I couldn't help but make a trip here to check out their wildly popular (and expensive) smoothies! Wandering through the aisles, Erewhon has all of the basics you would expect to find at a market, but a lot of the brands they carry aren't the typical mainstream ones you'll find at most other supermarkets. In a sense, they're like the Whole Foods of Whole Foods, as they almost exclusively feature premium/luxury brands that position themselves as being more "health focused". While that sort of claim can be relative (e.g. lower calories, but higher sodium), there's no question that the quality of their fresh produce, meats, and seafood definitely looked pretty legit, with a lot of products that are organic, free-range, cage-free, hormone-free, etc. As for the aforementioned smoothies that so many folks both praise and complain about, they're made fresh to order from their tonic bar that sits in the middle store - easy to find, but inconvenient to navigate past. With over a dozen different pre-set flavors/combinations to choose from, along with the option to customize and/or create your own, the menu has so much to offer. What's more, if you aren't in the mood for one of their smoothies, they also have freshly pressed juices, coffees, and teas. Even though their Strawberry Glaze Smoothie is easily their most popular smoothie (and best, according to Hailey Bieber), we opted to try their MALIBU MANGO SMOOTHIE ($21) instead. Based purely on taste, this actually wasn't too shabby - It had a nice punch of mango flavor and the consistency was smooth with just the right thickness to it. Plus, I liked how creamy both the texture and taste was and how it wasn't overly sweet. That being said, after tax/tip, did it taste $28 good? No. Although there wasn't anything inherently "bad" with this, it didn't taste all that different from the one I can get by my place in SF that costs me less than half as much. Despite how expensive the smoothie was, which at least I was already prepared for, the thing that really took us by surprise was how long it took for it to be made. Granted, this location might be an outlier, as its proximity to The Grove probably contributes to the number of people that were here, but I never would've guessed we'd have to wait almost half an hour for our order. Since I don't live anywhere near an Erewhon, I can't say if/when I would come back, but I certainly wouldn't entirely rule it out, as I liked the smoothie we got and I'm genuinely curious about the Strawberry Glaze one as well as some of their prepared foods. However, for how much it would set me back, it'll probably have to come after the next time I get a bonus or a raise so I can feel a little better about the splurge. Four stars for taste and the quality of what Erewhon has, but two stars, at best, for value, so three it is.
Very very busy! But the lines moved fast and there was a parking lot that also included valet. I tried the sushi and other trendy food items I had seen on the internet like the spicy cauliflower, and it didn't taste like anything special. In fact, it tasted bad, I threw out the sushi, and the other items were okay but not worth the price tag. For my food bowel it was $55 for cauliflower, chow mien, and the meat item. For that price I could've had a nice, healthy, and tasty meal at a restaurant. The aisles are very organized and clean, staff are nice. The place kind of feels like a tourist spot.
I got the chocolate amino acid and honestly the drink was pretty good. Given that it was a long line it was pretty good time in which we got our drinks. It was crowded but it's because their ambiance is most popular spot.
This is the 3rd time I've been her and this time I got the strawberry glaze smoothie. It is delicious, the workers were helpful each time in making sure that our order was correct. The smoothies are ordered inside the supermarket so it's kind of busy and noisy but over all their system is good. The drinks are on the pricey side but their ingredients are definitely respectable. We will return again.

When we arrived, the security guided us to complimentary limited time parking, which was great because we only stopped in for smoothies. This location was packed! We looked around for a second and then went to order smoothies. We waited about 10 minutes for them to be prepared. While we did enjoy them, $20+ isn't something we'd like to spend on smoothies often. Nice to experience though. Smoothies: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 2/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Location: 4/5
Although I wanted to be a hater, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed exploring Erewhon and guzzling down the strawberry glaze smoothie. It is a bit surreal being in a grocery store where the mean/median/mode price of something is 10x what it'd be at a normal shop. There's a parking garage right next to this location, but there was also a good amount of street parking nearby. Staff was very friendly! I got an 8 oz. jar of the Summit Trail Mix, which I really liked! It's not too salty and the dried fruits complimented the almonds so well. Enjoyed it so much that I kinda wish I opted for the bigger jar. Also, on top of the already steep price, there's a $3 bottle deposit. Since it was my first time here, the cashier let me know that you can get your deposit back if you bring the bottles/jars back to the store. After making my trail mix purchase, I got the strawberry glaze smoothie. My smoothie was ready pretty quickly. I'm not a big strawberry-flavor lover, but I really enjoyed this smoothie. It was the perfect refreshing drink for hot weather and walking around. I also felt very fitting and pretentious taking sips of my smoothie while strolling around Melrose. I definitely have to go back next time I'm in LA.. to get my bottle deposit back of course..
Erewhon is always such a delicious, amazing experience. The workers are always so kind and willing to answer any question. It's also a place where you truly have to get it all. Especially when you don't live by one all the time. The miracle noodles and Caesar wrap were good! The smoothie is the perfect drink accompaniment and the burger was delicious and juicy. The chicken salad and collard greens wrap were the stars of the show! The sundae was the perfect dessert and the best way to close out the meal. Truly the yummiest, best experience!
Overrated. Can think of 10 places that have better smoothies for half the price. Wouldn't come back
Erewhon totally lived up to the hype! Had Hailey Bieber smoothie and it was 100% worth it--so good. I also tried the Coconut Cloud smoothie the next day (yes, we went back lol) and loved that one too. Our hotel was right across the street, so it was hard not to keep coming back. The whole store is such a vibe--the aesthetics are on point, everything looks super clean and curated. The sushi was fresh, the veggies looked beautiful, and I love that they'll even warm up hot food if you ask. Definitely more than just a grocery store, it's an experience. Would absolutely go again!
If you're craving a sweet delicious smoothie, you need to check out Erewhon. It is on the pricier side than your normal smoothie but I personally feel like it's worth it. The flavor is so different and interesting. I love the salad kits that Erewhon preps. lol and when I go there I'm always singing cause they play the jams. I love the Harry's strawberries, they are soooo delicious and I feel like it's worth the price. I love to come here for picnic days cause the lines are speedy and the service is great. I also love the atmosphere.
Ok, so I've been wanting to try a smoothie from Erewhon for a while now and was finally in the area to try it! I went here on a Saturday around 12:24pm and there was a wait! Their smoothie section is inside of a grocery store, which added to the confusion. The multiple lines here made it confusing since they had a cafe and bakery section and another section for food items. I eventually found out I was supposed to order Erewhon drinks from the tablet instead of wait in line and then later found out I was waiting in the wrong section to pick up my drink. I ordered the Blueberry SYRN smoothie from Sydney Sweeney through the tablet. After waiting about least half an hour, that was when I was told where to pick up my drink that I ordered on the tablet. The drink still looked pretty when I picked it up, but it didn't taste like anything special. The smoothie still tasted good though, so not much to complain about that, besides the high price tag of their drinks (it was $22). Now, enough about the smoothie section, the rest of this store looked very well organized with their products and it looked like they sell good quality items here. The store looked organized because I liked how they had all the labels facing out, unlike other stores with their drinks section. The meats and sushi section looked fresh, they have a colorful variety of fruits and veggies too. They also give some free food samples throughout the store, so that was nice. I'd recommend this place for the experience. It's cool how this is a grocery store where you can buy fresh food and drinks here. It's also a good place if you're looking for some colorful veggies. read more

I tried the Blue Coconut Cloud Smoothie and honestly I was impressed. It was so good, and healthy too. The service is great as well, they're not rude if you pay with EBT like they are at Whole Foods. This particular location is definitely where you want to go if you want to be seen. It's down the street from The Grove for an added bonus so you're bound to bump into an influencer on any given day. And you can tell even if you're old like me because they stay camera ready. Like I never seen people so done up to get a smoothie from the grocery store but then again.....this is LA read more

Erewhon is one of my favorite place to get groceries, quick bites, & smoothies! They always have everything I need and their food is amazing. The store is often crowded, but it is very organized and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is vibrant and they have a great selection of produce & snacks. Their hot bar is convenient and very delicious. Their sushi selection is also excellent and the sushi is very fresh! I always make sure I get myself a smoothie as well. Their drinks are simply delicious and very refreshing. My favorite is the iconic Hailey Bieber smoothie! read more

I finally got to visit one of the infamous Erewhon locations with my best friend, and it was definitely an interesting experience. Being a Long Beach native, I never would've known this bougie grocery store even existed if it weren't for the foodie influencers I watch on YouTube. I'd especially seen videos about their $20+ smoothies, so I knew I had to try one of these obnoxiously overpriced beverages when I visited lol. As expected, the store was pretty packed upon arrival. While people bustled around the establishment, we made our way to the smoothie stand. Fortunately, they offer kiosks where you can conveniently place your order. As we waited for our smoothies, we took the opportunity to roam around the store. I started to understand the appeal of Erewhon; they offer an impressive array of health products and foods. From sea moss gels to organic items and supplements, they seem to have it all. If I were a wealthy health fanatic living nearby, I could see myself coming here occasionally. On the other hand, if you're more of a minimalist or someone who isn't into organic health products, a visit here might feel unnecessary and overpriced. We made our way back to the smoothie stand once I received a text message that our smoothies were ready. I had ordered a chocolate smoothie, and my bestie got a matcha one. While I appreciated the appeal of it being a healthy option, mine tasted rather strong and slightly bitter for a chocolate flavor. We decided to grab a little snack to pair with our drinks. I went for the banana chocolate bread, and my friend chose the chocolate chip cookies. The cashier came across as snobby; she didn't greet us or even mention the price of our sweets. I guess Erewhon cashiers are too good to speak to paying customers lol. We ate our snacks in my friend's car, and unfortunately, my bread turned out to be dull and underwhelming. Overall, this was a one-and-done visit to Erewhon for me. However, if they ever happened to release some sort of groundbreaking health product, maybe I'd come back. read more

The line went by fast and we got our order relatively in a normal line. I thought the drink was not crazy like people said, we paid $22 for 1 smoothie which is crazy expensive! I do see that there's a huge hype around the smoothies. read more

Was our first time trying Erewhon, which we only came for the smoothies. There wasn't much of a wait, and our smoothies came out pretty quickly. The only downside to Erewhon is how expensive everything is. As for the smoothies themselves, they were refreshing. I loved the organic ingredients they used. Would recommend only if you're okay with paying $20 a smoothie read more

Everything in this store is worth spending time looking at and consider buying. Very nicely designed, tight fitting isles, but many unique items. Their hot food items, danishes, drink are incredible! Worth the drive. The workers were very nice and helpful! It was a great experience. read more
It's super crowded and the layout doesn't help with flow of customer traffic. Everyone is huddled by the drink bar and it's actually very unsafe. I do understand that this particular location is close to The Grove so it was not a fair representation of staff under normal conditions, however, not a single employee looked even remotely friendly. I could assume that the high volume of tourists and locals using the aisles as a selfie spot could be annoying so I tried to be understanding. I do have to think of MY personal shopping experience as a consumer trying to grab my things and go, so I would not recommend this particular location to someone visiting this store chain for the first time. I placed an online order for 2 smoothies for pickup, they met the standard of the other locations I've been to! Quality, and selection of products are also standard to what I've come to expect from Erewhon, it's just the safety and service concerns I have. read more

I finally tried the famous, or infamous? EREWHON! Thanks social media, "influencers," and my sister and her partner that live in Los Angeles for bringing the hype. We parked a wee bit away, to get some steps in, and made our way to the lovely building. The place was busy, but not annoyingly although it being a Sunday early afternoon, which was nice! I didn't really explore the full store, but let's be real - is it overpriced? Absolutely? Overhyped? Sure. That being said, the food was fresh and the food was healthy, healthy and clean ingredients. The food was also very yummy. We tried a plethora of items: OBVIOUSLY the famous Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie, Gluten Free Mac & Cheese, Old School Mac & Cheese, Garlic Chicken, The Garlic Glass Noodles, and lastly my favorite; Grilled Buffalo Cauliflower. This was about $60 for a "sample" size (or at least that is what I asked for) for all food items, and that includes the Smoothie. The smoothie was $21. Guys, this was creamy, fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious. Will I get it again? Probably not. $21 for a smoothie is WILD. I will say, $10-15 in LA, okay, I get it! $21? Come on. Still delicious so you can make that choice. Both of the Mac & Cheese styles were great, the Gluten Free, you'd never know. So good. The Old School was creamy and yummy. The Garlic Chicken (I believe it was a thigh?), was really good. Super flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Glass Noodles were good for sure, but could have been a bit more flavorful. I would have added a Sriracha or Soy Sauce? Lastly, my favorite! The Buffalo Cauliflower. I love how it was not fried - it was grilled I assume, perfectly spicy (but not too spicy). Will I go back to Erewhon? Probably not, maybe? It will remain a mystery. I will say, however, I am glad I went! Expensive but yummy, and nice to finally experience it. read more
The food here is definitely on the pricier side. However, i still find my self here frequently. I haven't grocery shopped here but I've tried many of their meals and honestly they're just so good. Their sandwiches are great, The rotisserie chicken one is my favorite. Their salads are good. Their sushi tastes fresh. The Strawberry cowboy milkshake was just ok. I dont think I'll buy again. I visited this Erewhon location after seeing their smoothie advertisement at another branch earlier this week, and I was really excited to try it. Unfortunately, by the time I got to that other store, it had already closed, so today I decided to stop by this one, which is on a corner near The Grove and the permanent Farmers Market super busy area, especially on weekends. Parking is tough; there's no assigned lot, so I actually parked in a public park nearby, which is free! definitely a lifesaver since the street parking is a pain. Once inside, I was hit by how crowded it was: no room to even move. The security guard was super friendly and helped direct me to the ordering counter, where I got two smoothies: strawberry and coconut. But honestly, I was pretty disappointed. There was a line of about 20 people waiting, and after all that hype, and waiting around 15 minutes in the line, the smoothies were just okay!!!totally ordinary. The quality was fine, but $21 for a smoothie that doesn't stand out just feels way overpriced. I can't deny that the staff were fantastic, but this place just feels like it's riding on hype and branding, not actual value. For example, I found the same honey I buy for $50 elsewhere, and here it was priced at $165 just a total rip-off. So, while the atmosphere was lively, it's just not worth the price. read more

Overpriced but very good at marketing because I thought I was being so healthy by going here lol.. The strawberry glaze smoothie was good but nothing absolutely insanely life changing like the online hype I've seen. I'd probably try some other ones to see if I'd like them better. I got a chocolate croissant which was pretty good. The dark chocolate I got was very bitter but I guess it's supposed to be? I got one of those sleep supplement squeeze up things and it actually didn't taste gross but it didn't help my sleep at all. This was a bit of a tourist visit for me, I probably wouldn't feel the need to come back but I wouldn't be opposed either. read more

A highly questionable experience recently at this Erewhon location: I bought myself some (wildly overpriced) flowers, and 24 hours later they are close to dead - see photo attached. For almost forty bucks, flowers SHOULD NOT be almost dead one day after purchase. I contacted the store and actually got a helpful manager. Strangely, when I told her of the condition of the flowers, she suggested that this happened because of the placement of their flowers just inside the door, they are constantly exposed to temperature extremes and this is probably why they die so quickly. Like this explanation makes expensive dead-within-a-day-expensive-flowers somehow OK? LITERALLY: How could a customer know this? And since Erewhon knows this, why not fix the problem, or let buyers know, or move the flowers, or lower the price because of the issue? And here is a TRULY BIZARRE thing: When I go to the store to get a refund, the cashier says that the ORIGINAL SALES TAX I PAID CANNOT BE REFUNDED. Is this even legal to keep the money I paid for sales tax, and only refund the price? I have never ever seen this at ANY business. This is beyond legally questionable - just never done. I cannot imagine how they indicate this funny math in their accounting.... Worth being aware of this. read more
The food is always great, fresh and clean. The people are very helpful if you are searching for something. The unique items are my fave plus salads and the liquid vitamin aisles. I don't know if it's just this store but it seemed so much more affordable a year ago, which makes me less anxious coming with the kids! Smoothies are great but can be TOO sweet! Loved all the benches outside just the traffic stop and go emissions is not great. 1 hour free parking in garage was helpful to shop, eat and get back to the car. read more

We wanted to try the viral smoothies from Erewhon. We were at the Grove and saw that there was one down the street and we luckily found parking right in front of the store. The store is fairly small, but it was easy to find the juice bar. We ordered on the iPad which was easy. We only ordered one smoothie, but it took 15 minutes to get. There were a lot of people there, but we also noticed that even though there was a lot of workers, a lot of them weren't helping with the orders. We got the strawberry glaze skins smoothie and it tased okay, so not worth the price point. We wanted to try it for the one time, but probably won't ever get it again. read more
Great selection for food and iced smoothies! Their price is a bit high but you can definitely taste the quality. Me and my wife would come to the hot food section at least once a week. Also we would finish our meals with a little dessert treat such as their signature smoothies. Service is quite slow at this location considering how busy they get. read more

Erewhon used to be my go-to, but quality has gone downhill. My last 2 orders of Korean short ribs have been completely burned (compare the normal piece on the left to the blackened pieces on the right). Beware that they require you to return items in person to get a refund, which defeats the point of a delivery order. I hope these are growing pains and the quality improves again. read more
Nice place to shop, I've had a lot of good experiences here. It's a bit on the pricier side but the food is good (a little more than Whole Foods), particularly the vegetables. The noodles gave me a little bellyache a couple of times, but the veggies have always been a solid 8/10 ;) Good service, and each time I've been here it's been clean and I've found interesting items for gifts and self-care to try. read more

I ordered a tote bag from Erewhon that arrived with visible bleach stains. When I contacted customer service to report the damage, I was told that what I was seeing was simply a 'natural variation in the canvas,' which was completely false and frankly insulting. Rather than acknowledging the defective item, they doubled down, insisted all sales were final, and made it clear they had no intention of helping me. After five attempts to get any form of resolution, I was essentially told I was stuck with a damaged product. It was only after I threatened to write a review that they offered an exchange, which I declined. At that point, a refund was the only acceptable resolution given the experience I had been put through. For a brand that charges premium prices and markets itself as a luxury experience, the customer service protocols and quality assurance are appalling. Being gaslit over an obvious defect on a $160 item is not the standard I expected from Erewhon. Buyer beware, if your order arrives damaged, don't expect them to take responsibility. read more

Where to begin? You go in knowing thats it's expensive and we still got blown out of the water! As a Canadian, I'm already appalled at the prices. $14 USD for water? That's got to come with a magic juice that makes me youthful forever. And a $60 USD candle? I can buy a whole house for that price! Now of course we had to try the viral Hailey Bieber smoothie for $20 USD. It was refreshing and creamy but nothing to write home about. Worth a try if you're curious about it, but other than Hailey Bieber, I don't think anyone else gets a benefit out of it. The store is pretty nice and offers an esthetic interior with photo ops, which his very weird to say about a grocery store. 4 stars because it offers comedy in a time of economic crisis and the smoothie was alright. And the servers were friendly and efficient. read more

It's not the kind of food you need to count calories with, I eat whatever I want there and stay in great shape. The calories are nutrient dense.
