If you're looking for a dessert that's indulgent yet not overly sweet, Beard Papa's cream puffs are an absolute must-try! From the first bite, it's clear why this bakery has a global fanbase. Here's why I'm obsessed: 1. Fresh, Light Puff Pastry: The pastry shells are baked to perfection--crispy on the outside, airy and tender on the inside. Unlike heavier desserts, these puffs feel light and delicate, making them irresistible . 2. Just-Right Sweetness: The fillings (like the classic vanilla custard or matcha) are creamy and flavorful without being cloying. The balance between the subtle sweetness of the custard and the buttery pastry is chef's kiss. 3. Generous Fillings: Each puff is stuffed to the brim with velvety cream, ensuring every bite is rich and satisfying. This location even fills them to order for ultimate freshness. 4. Variety of Flavors: everything for everyone's taste bud and mood. Final Verdict: 5/5 stars! During this visit, we got the classic vanilla custard which is my favorite. We ventured out and tried the frozen mango yogurt filling and it certainly is now my son's favorite. It's sweeter than the classic custard but the mango flavor is there and delightful. Tip: Try the green tea filling if available--it's an earthy, refined twist on the classic. Also, it's inside HMart so you can kill two birds with one stone while there and get your grocery shopping done too!

Papa Beards is located in the busy H-mart but it doesn't affect Papa Beards amazing service! They are very kind and fast! I ordered Creme Brulee and Vanilla Cream Puffs. Both were super light and tasty but I loved the vanilla more because its covered in the light puff pastry. OMG that puff pastry tastes amazing with the vanilla creme inside. I also had the limeade and wow I didn't expect for it to be so close to lemonade but actually much better! Papa Beards really exceeded my expectations and I will absolutely return!

Delicious cream puff shop! I've tried several flavored ones yet my best pick is a good old original one!

Beard Papa's is a cream puff bakery located inside H-Mart, just at the outskirts of the Market Eatery. This is a national and worldwide chain (franchise) that started in the late 1990s in a small Japanese town. When you go to the bakery, you have cream puff building options. For example, you can choose your base (shell) and they have a few to select from. Some of the choices include chocolate eclair, Oreo crumble, and original. Those are my favorites, but there are others as well. Then you can pick from three different fillings: chocolate, vanilla, or green tea. The shells are flaky and crisp with delectable cream filling. It's also a big plus in my book that the filling doesn't cause the shell to sog and taste or feel wet. Eek. Ever experience that? Gross. If you really want to treat yourself, this would be a good way to do it. This is the treat that truly hits the sweet spot. They often have specials (kinda BOGO-style).

an amazing spot for a sweet treat post a meal in the hmart food court. i got the matcha one along with the original, sadly they were out of the matcha filling. it was so yummy and definitely a nice little sweet treat. i like how they fill it with cream after you order as then the puff pastry won't get soggy. i will definitely be returning to try the matcha filling!

Had a great first experience at Beard Papa! The staff were friendly and kind. They're in an easy to access location. It's counter style like all H Mart spots but this one is in the front so much easier to get to without walking the crowded food court. I got the original and green tea. Both were light and crispy, and the filling flavor was delicious! I enjoyed the green tea flavored toping. A delicious and filling treat/dessert!

Delicious pudding filled pastry. I got two flavors. The original and the crème brûlée. The original was perfect. Not too sweet overall I would say a general vanilla pudding flavor. The crème brûlée was really pretty to look at and it tasted just like one too. Caramelized sugar on the top. Delish! Once I got home I paired the rest of the original flavored one with some Nutella and omg that was the best!

cute spot for sweets inside of h mart! I got to try the original and the cookie cream one and I thought both were great, but did enjoy the original better :) these are massive for cream puffs so definitely a filling option! I thought the service was great and fast too. I would definitely come back for a nice sweet snack

The cream brûlée is essentially the regular cream puff but with torched sugar on top. For a dollar increase, the only addition is the torched sugar. They cut off a 1/3 of the regular cream puff and then flattened the filling to dust the sugar to torch. I personally think there was not enough to it for it to be the highest costing puff on the menu. Because it's not a round puff, it's also messier to eat because when you bite into it the cream will get over your face if you aren't careful. An underwhelming experience but still quality vanilla filling with a crisp puff.

They manage to have a really delicate but tasty pastry shell. I'm a big fan. I also felt like the cream filling feels and tastes like authentic wholesome ingredients. Thw employee preparing my macha cream puff enjoyed working there and was pleasant to interact with! The only thing i would say is that hmart is pretty loud and distracting.

I enjoy the cream puffs here a lot! There is an assortment of different flavors to choose from. The inside was spacious and had seating. Service was quick as it was served on the spot. I got the original cream puff flavor, and it was delicious! Not too sweet but fluffy.

I paid a visit to H-Mart over the weekend to sample a variety of items to include the cream puffs offered here. In Japan, cream puffs have been adapted and modified to suit Japanese tastes. Japanese-style cream puffs, also known as "choux cream" or "shu cream," are typically smaller and more delicate than their French counterparts, with a lighter, airier pastry shell. When small individual choux pastry puffs are baked, the interior becomes light and airy, and the exterior turns crisp and golden. The puff is then filled with a sweet custard filling. While the traditional shu cream has a plain puff pastry and classic yellow custard cream filling, the fillings offered here are mango and vanilla. My partner and I purchased a 6 pack of puffs. The craquelin for the puffs were not light but more on the heavy side when it comes to these types of pastries. The cream within the puff was dense as if it had been cooled/chilled prior to purchase. The various flavor combinations we tried (oreo and vanilla, matcha and mango, etc.) were all similar in taste in that the matcha puff didn't taste much different from the strawberry puff This chain puff establishment is worth a try if you haven't experienced a puff before, but these are not the most unique puffs one can find.

Let me tell yall. I have a real good sweet tooth and this place is my go to place after a grocery and food court trip at HMart. It stands out from all the dessert places in the area by the taste. I love the taro or green tea topping flavor with vanilla or green tea filling! I look forward to this special treat when I'm here. The breading is thin (which I like) and the custard be custarding! It's so creamy and middle sweet not overpowering! I couldn't give this place 5 stars because the menu offers a wide variety but when I ask for a flavor or custard they don't have it. I'm like how?! Other than that it's a great place.

My husband ordered the Campfire with added ice cream, which was rich and very chocolaty. The charred marshmallow on top was a great touch and made it extra indulgent. Overall, a great late night dessert stop with solid flavors and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out when you're craving something sweet!

When we went our choices were $9-$10 donut base desserts. I say base because the toppings cover up the donut visually. Despite that, there's no covering that scrumptious taste and texture. Wowaweea. Yes, you feel your cells expand and pants tighten and it is for sure run club pre and post, but quite worth it. These divine donuts have that cakey interior I love so much. We had the Puddin': cream cheese icing, vanilla pudding, fresh bananas with nilla wafers. According to the menu. Ours didn't have any nilla wafers and the presentation was uneven, hence the four stars. I didn't miss the wafers. The icing and pudding were one goopy topping and the bananas slices were half scattered slices and half banana chunk that I had to separate. What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top.
