Alain charged us for about 5 years without providing any services. He told us he would cancel our service, as we had consistent issues with the video system he installed for security. We hired a new company and didn't look back until we researched charges we happened to see in our bank accounts (several businesses, so small charges can get overlooked). They didn't provide any receipts for transactions and charged under Lydia security, so we thought the charges were related to our new c-corp security. When contacting Alain about this (years of zero contact, mind you), he said he'd take care of it. When nothing happened, he told us to - let it go... Attaching screenshots of text thread with Alain. BE CAREFUL! We signed up with Alain after opening our small business in 2016. We purchased the equipment and were set up and ready to go. After having consistent connection issues, and camera/microphone issues over the years, all worked on by Alain or Ruben, we elected to cancel and go with another company. These visits and issues were costing us extra time and money we didn't have, while running a small business. We got a new company in and set up; they provided a certificate of security on 08/27/2019, which is when the service would have been officially terminated with Bear 2 Protection. Apparently, Bear 2 Protection contracts with Lydia Security (very challenging to find contact info online), and since we haven't received any communication from either company in YEARS (no receipts, calls, texts, emails, etc), we had to do a lot of work to find out who had been charging us for so many years. To clarify, we started the process of acquiring a second business in 2019, so thought Lydia Security may have been one of the services we were mandated to get for a C Corp (this whole process was so new to us!). A few years in, better understanding everything now, when reviewing our books to figure out financials better, we found we had been charged by Bear 2 Protection via Lydia Security for 4 years after transferring systems, without any services being performed as they had not been connected nor monitoring our business since 2019. We have called, texted and emailed the company and are awaiting response, but we are just blown away by this. Yes, we did file a fraud claim as well. read more

After spending 6-8k with Alain's security system at office and home, we realized we had the system does not have good battery life, quality pictures, we had to pay thousands more to get everything hard wired. Then things go wrong (I have to go get batteries myself and replace them or there are additional charges), and takes months to get the panel in. Then as things are not working properly and tell Alain about it, "oh now the 5G is out, we need to upgrade your systems" sales pitch, which means thousands more. So the system became obsolete all of a sudden and signals don't work now since 5G is out??? Unfortunately, I would rather spend more money with competitors than to spend any more money with Alain's Bear 2 Protect. And I've also been paying $45/mon for home and $45/mon for office for the last two-three years. It's unfortunate I had to write this review, but others need to know. read more

Buyer beware! I selected Alain because he is a BNI member, as am I. Our oath is to be a reputable company, and take care of each other as a family. He did neither! I began by contacting Alain in July 2014 to do the inside security system for my new building. I gave him half down ($588.50) on his hand-written "proposal". I never heard back from him. He had another one of my subcontractors install his wiring in the walls. I called him back in November 2015 and he did come out to install the remainder of the system. Throughout the process I had told him I did not want a system that required monitoring. He assured me this system would only alert my cell if their was a breach. I paid him the remaining $588.50 plus an additional $271.50, as he told me I needed another sensor. What he didn't tell me was I needed to get a permit from the city. In December the alarm went off and we were charged a fine, as I did not have a permit. Later that month, Alain dropped in with documents to sign, without an appointment. I was out of town. He had one of my office staff sign documents for a monitoring service agreement.....an additional $70.00 per month. He took the account # and bank account # off of the check I had paid him with, and deducted the monitoring service fee out of my business bank account --without my permission! (They also get a kick-back from this service company!) The only way I caught this was by checking my monthly bank statement, not recognizing "Lydia Securities"! I did not authorize this charge or agree to do business with a security monitoring company that is located in New Jersey. This is not an ethical or honest way to do business. read more

He leaves no stone unturned when working with a client to protect their family. Really hope this is read before some gets taken advantage of. Alan is quite the con artist. After being robbed in my house rental I asked the landlord to buy a security system. The company was recommended to him from someone at his church. He generously payed $600 to put alarms on 4 doors and 3 windows. After those steep prices he couldn't afford to secure my other 3 windows and garage door. So for $600 dollar I couldn't even get my 1600 sq ft house fully secure. We signed a contract to pay $34 dollars a month for Bear 2 Protection security services. After 2 years our monitor started to show an error code. I called him to asked what was going on he told me a very long charming story of how the whole network in the country just upgraded to 4G. My monitor is now having a hard time connecting and I need to pay $400 dollars to upgrade it to the 4G network. I had a baby due in a matter of days and financially already pushed to the max. I balled. So he said he will do me a huge favor and only charge 299. family prices. I told him I didn't have the money and my landlord couldnt pay either. I asked if I was still being "protected" and he said "absolutely" its just a low signal and thats why I'm getting an error code. Well I called around to other alarm companies to see if they were doing this too. They all said no! That if a security company needs to upgrade to work then obviously they would be responsible to do it, not the client!!! Then my husband and I looked up the error code and it didnt mean low signal, it meant NO signal. I called alan and he said he will come out and look at it. Usually he charges 75$ for a visit. This time because he "really wants to help me out" he wont charge but next time he will...Geeze thanks. Now since I stay at home and deal with household matters my husband was not aware that Alan and I agreed to the 34 dollars. SO when his account for 2 years was being charged 54 dollars, he didnt know that was wrong. I confronted Alan about it and as usual he tried to smooth talk through it. He said that I should have been charged more when we initially installed our equipment and he was making up for it. WOW. I asked him just pay me back for the last payment and end our services. I was so pregnant, hurting, and didnt have the energy to get 3TV on my side but now after 10 months regret not doing so. Alan is one of the best talkers I've ever met. He will stress how much he likes you so hes going to give you and only you an amazing deal. Meanwhile he's actually taking you for a ride. I know hes had some nice reviews. Maybe its family or maybe recently hes started an addiction and needs to rip people off to pay it.Whatever it is, its not right. read more

We did research on several local companies but decided to go with Bear2 because they had many positive recommendations on the Ahwatukee neighborhood Facebook pages. We were very happy with our decision. Since we have never had a system on this house and were not aware of the recent technology, we had many questions about all the different options available. Alain was very patient answering all our inquiries, explaining everything and providing quotes for a few different things. Everything was installed properly and we are very happy with the fact that we have an app on our phones to arm and disarm the system. Recently our dogs triggered the alarm with their insanely loud barking; we asked Alain to come over and adjust the sensitivity of the glass-break alarms, which he did the next day. I had Alain come over and install a securtiy system in my home and couldn't be happier now that I have the peace of mind knowing when I'm gone my house is protected by the bear! My house had an older system installed already from the previous owner but wasn't active so Alain was able to retro fit the old system with some of his new products. He showed my wife and I how the system worked, walked us through all the alerts, and even set up my phone so I can monitor it while I'm away. The best thing is that Alain won't sign you to a long term contract only to increase the rate after a year or two. One price forever! To anyone out there thinking about getting a securtiy system, don't wait until it's too late. Let the bear protect you! read more
