1 Star We saved this…read morerestaurant for the final night of a trip that took us 1,722 miles from home. After an amazing day exploring Magnolia and Waco, we wanted one last memorable sunset dinner to cap off my wife's dream trip. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were told to grab a drink and wait on the rooftop until our table was ready. Sounds great, right? The problem is nobody ever came back for us. We sat there, ordered wine, enjoyed the view, and patiently waited. No updates. No check-ins. No communication whatsoever. After finishing an entire bottle of wine and wondering why the wait was taking so long, I finally tracked someone down to ask what was happening. The response? "Sorry, we close at 9." That's it. No apology for forgetting us. No effort to seat us. No attempt to make things right. We were simply left sitting on the rooftop until the restaurant closed. I've worked in customer service long enough to understand mistakes happen. But forgetting a table for over an hour and then essentially shrugging your shoulders when they ask what's going on is unacceptable. What should have been a magical final evening of an incredible trip turned into us scrambling to find food elsewhere on our last night in Texas. The rooftop view was nice. The bottle of wine was good. Too bad we never got to try the food.

This restaurant delivered on both food and service. The host who greeted us was so friendly and upfront--he let us know there'd be a 10-15 minute wait, which honestly would've been fine, but he also said there was no wait for bar seating which was completely open so we decided to grab those instead for a different vibe. No regrets -- great spot to eat. I ordered the steak and eggs, steak cooked medium and eggs over medium. The steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes on the side were amazingly crispy and well-seasoned! This is easily a spot I'll be back to next time I'm in Waco. Highly recommend--don't let any preconceived notions stop you from checking it out!

Their opening day had a few unfortunate mishaps, wait times were lengthy, etc. But when we returned a few days later, those kinks were gone and I am so glad we gave them a second chance. Where to begin? First of all, the owners Ed & Gail and their staff couldnt be nicer. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere to everyone who enters the door. The decor is lovely with nice big windows for a view of the outdoors. Comfortable tables & chairs. Clean restrooms. And then.......there's the FOOD, which is of course the main reason to go there. My husband had a burger and fries, which he chowed down on pretty quickly. He's not a "foodie" like I am, so he didnt offer up much chat as he was eating. But, I've been married to him long enough to know he was enjoying his meal. (I stole a french fry or two and they were perfect. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Perfect golden yumminess) I had a medium steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli slaw. Now, I have to admit I am extremely picky about steak. Medium doneness can be tricky to achieve, so I watch carefully how it looks on my first cut. This steak was so tender, I barely needed a knife to cut it. Perfect pinkness, nice a juicy with just a hint of red. Perfect grill marks too. The seasonings added just the right amount of flavor. The broccoli slaw was amazing!. Raisins, onions, shredded broccoli, sesame seeds. Just a lovely blend of flavors. My favorite for sure, was the cappuccino. Perfect blend of expresso and scalded milk. Much better than anything Starbucks ever served up. I seriously applaud this wonderful restaurant and hope all of you will give them a try. We plan to go there often.
