This is one of our GO TO's when camping at Lake Whitney State Park. Normally come in for the burgers but as its Friday evening and they have a catfish & shrimp combo on the menu, we decided had to give it whirl. The combo includes 5-6 cornmeal fried catfish nuggets & roughly 6-7 panko fried shrimp with side of coleslaw & french fries. Now I know I am in a burger joint requesting catfish & shrimp so must give a little latitude. First off we noticed the coleslaw was actually a salad with ranch dressing which would not have been bad but no one came to ask if we might want a different dressing on the salad or maybe if they don't/can't eat salad so that's a ding. Next, ding the fries & onion rings while they both had decent flavor they must have been sitting on the plates. While the fish & shrimp were frying they were cold which as we all know cold fries & onion rings "no bueno." The catfish were fried perfectly along with the shrimp the only issue was lack of meat the cornmeal crust was nice but a little thick on the thin layer of catfish. Now the panko breaded shrimp were a solid hit and both the catfish & shrimp came out very hot, with sides of tarter and cocktail sauce. My wife got a jalepeno burger, lettuce, tomato, pickle & onion. She requested the tomato to be left off and dry. She is not a fan of mustard or mayo with spicy curly fries. She needed to pick off the tomato and burger was way over cooked. Especially for a family that prefers its red meats medium to medium rare (more closely to medium rare). She ate about half the burger and just said it was too dry. Our daughter ordered the steak fingers meal it came with 2 slices of butter texas toast, fries, salad and gravy. Now she said the steak fingers were really good and ate everyone of them (4). The other issue was wait time order process was good it was waiting for the fool it was excessive roughly 30mins. As I stated earlier I will cut some slack it is week between Christmas and New Years and they were busy and probably a little understaffed. I remember only the 2 employees working with a space that was at some points 85-90% full. (max capacity 50-60p) We will try it again next time we come back for camping, plus they have Blue Bell Ice Cream so no mattter how your meal goes you can't go wrong with 2 big scoops of double chocolate in a waffle cone. I have been to Bobby's a few times since I moved to Whitney in March. Each time I try different things. The Catfish and Shrimp combo is really good. Was not sure how I would feel about the hushpuppies because they are handmade and have jalapeno's in them. But I really liked them, they are rolled instead of balls and just the right amount of spice. Onion Straws are really good. So are there fried mushrooms. Taco's, the shells tasted stale and the lettuce also seemed past its prime, and no cheese on one of the tacos. So that is the reason it got 4, instead of 5 stars. Chicken Nuggets are really good. Have also tried their Mushroom Swiss Burger and their Patty Melt. The burgers are huge and fresh. The only thing that would make the Patty Melt better is if it was served on Rye instead of Texas Toast, the way they were intended to be eaten lol. To me on Texas Toast, it is just another grilled burger with onions. It still tasted good, just it really needs rye bread. ;p read more

This was my 2nd visit and my last. We got there at 629 and finally asking for our food we got it 40 minutes after ordering. They are more focused on call in customers as those orders kept coming out but don't care about lobby customers. I won't be going back and warn you to have time if you go in, even drive through orders were being taken and the customers told to pull in the east parking lot and they would bring it out. Been a customer of bobbys burger for 8 years. My mom placed an order tonight and they screwed it up bc it's usually less than 20.00 we order the same thing all the time. And when my dad got to the window to pick it up it was almost 28.00 bucks so he questioned it. And called when he got back home and the owner was acting like such an asshole after spending over 900.00 over the past eight years I will make sure all of my family and friends know to never do business with them again. I have been to this place twice, and both times ther were issues. They wouldn't honor a coupon the first time, so I went ahead and ordered off the menu. What I got was a very dry buger devoid of all seasonings. The cheese didn't even help. The fries were mediocre at best. The other day I went to take the family, so I thought I would try it one more time. Mistake. They wouldn't honor my restaurant.com certificate.
