    Small hot latte
    Vivian Z.

Found another cozy work cafe! I was waiting for my hair appointment and needed to find a place to focus on some projects, so stumbled upon this place! I've actually walked past many times and have never been until now, but there's always a ton of people sitting outside so it's definitely quite popular. I managed to snag the only open table left inside, and I'm quite happy and comfy! I ordered a hot latte, and the friendly and efficient barista whipped it up in under 1 minute and it's beautiful and tastes pretty good! The WiFi works really well and I had no issues connecting. Overall I would come back! My only issue is that this area is pretty difficult to find free parking, and there are a couple schools and tons of good restaurants around, so sometimes I am circling for a while. It also gets super foggy in this area, but that's just SF! Would recommend to anyone looking for a chill, relaxing atmosphere!

Really good coffee that allows for refills if you get it for here. People were kind and coffee is phenomenal.

The Vietnamese coffee was perfect! Sweet and strong - the ideal pick me up before conquering a yoga class down the street. The medium was also huge and only $4.25. The person in the front was super friendly and I love how there seem to be flocks of locals always conversing out front. This seems to be a favorite spot by the neighborhood and I can see why. Plus, it helped me stay conscious during savasana, so I definitely will be stopping by more when I need a boost of energy.

My husband and I have been frequenting The Beanery for about 4 years. It is an inner Sunset neighborhood coffee house, where the coffee drinks are the best in the city. There are other places a block away, that don't come close to the quality and flavor that The Beanery has. They also have other drinks including Chai teas, cappaciunos, lattes that are superb. They also have great pastries, bagels, etc. They have items on the menu, all delicious. The staff is warm and friendly and we have been buying dark French roast whole beans for 4.years. Everyone seems like family, talking to each other or just doing their thing. It is our favorite hangout in the city. We like hanging out in the outside to watch the scene and have fun!! It is the best!!!!We like to stay until closing time. Don't hesitate. By the way, there is also a Beanery at 7th and Irving in the same neighborhood. Enjoy!!!

I stopped by Beanery Coffee before meeting friends for dinner on a rainy evening. I had some time to kill and noticed the cafe because there were quite a few people drinking coffee both outside and inside. I tried their house coffee, which is self serve. The cashier was friendly and explained how it worked. A nice, relaxed place to warm up and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Macha latte was mostly just milk. Very watered down, not very much actual matcha. Dunno what I was expecting. Ambiance is nice for a cafe. Nice place to shut and chat b

Best almond milk caramel latte I've ever had. The latte was smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. I literally jumped for joy after the first sip and my family noticed my happy coffee dance. Staff was pleasant and they provided stellar customer service. I could tell they were familiar with their "regulars" by the instant "hellos" and "smiles" the staff displayed. Ambience was a laid back feel but very little sitting area inside.

Such a cozy cafe With indoor and outdoor seating I was on a run and stumbled upon this little coffee shop recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. - 2 espresso shots: the bean was definitely darker than I usually consume but it was yummy, strong Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Quaint little cafe! I love their house coffee. If you get one of the house blends, you can literally custom make your own latte because they have different hot coffees on tap for you to choose from in addition to sweeteners and creamer. This is perfect for someone who usually has a custom coffee order and prays that they dont mess up hehe. They have decent indoor and outdoor seating. Ideal for sitting here for hours to read, work, etc. Or just hangout with a friend.

I stopped by here while walking around Inner Sunset for a cup of coffee. I got a Caramel Latte with a single shot, and it came out pretty quickly. There were a few small tables, and quite a few people were doing work on a holiday. The latte itself was really good--nicely balanced and not too sweet, not too bitter. The single shot (which I split with my boyfriend) was perfect for an afternoon coffee for someone who is sensitive to caffeine like me. I would come here again for a nice, no-frills cup of coffee and/or for a nice place to work!

Ah, fall is in full swing, and I'm absolutely loving it! Now I can indulge in hot chocolate every day without anyone looking at me strangely because yes, I love hot cocoa in any weather. Even in the summer! Anyway, the Beanery is a charming little spot to stop for a quick bite and a coffee, whether you're flying solo or catching up with a friend. It's the perfect place for a cozy conversation or to tackle a crossword puzzle. I wouldn't recommend coming with more than two people, though. I visited on a Sunday morning with a friend, and even though the tables are packed side by side, there's still a sense of privacy and space for an intimate chat. The hot chocolate was simple but sweet, and I paired it with a pumpkin muffin, which surprisingly tasted more like carrot cake. Quite the treat!

I love coming to the Beanery for coffee or to study! This place is a local coffee shop on Irving and does everything just right. This location has more seating than the one on 7th, so I like to frequent this place! It definitely can be crowded so don't be surprised if you come in the afternoon to find no seats available. Unfortunately, there is a lack of plugs, but they do have wifi! I usually order the Caramel or Vanilla Lattes ($5.15 for medium). The coffee flavor is distinct and not too bitter or strong. Personally, I like a little bit milder coffee flavor. The sweetness is also perfect its not over done and doesn't leave an artificial taste in your mouth. Overall, it's such a lovely spot to grab coffee with a friend or study for a few hours on a sunny weekend.

    medium vietnamese iced coffee
    Allison T.

My go-to is always the iced vietnamese coffee - very strong but also very sweet. I love the flavor and it is a great afternoon pick me up whenever I need to get some work done! I honestly don't notice any difference between the flavor from here and the location on 7th avenue so I just go to whichever is more convenient (even though they are only 2 blocks away from each other). This location does have significantly more seating though (+ free wifi!), so I would recommend it for anyone who wants to get some work done or just hang out and read in a classic coffee shop vibe. They don't have outlets though so plan accordingly. Also I noticed that most people keep to themselves and it is a fairly quiet environment (wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you plan on talking loudly or have extended meetings), but it makes for a great place to work independently in a nice neighborhood coffee shop!

At 11 am on a Sunday they were out of their best- black sesame Kouign Amann and the Raspberry Almond Croissant, which I took care of by paying a visit to Juniper bakery (sister business) later in the day. The Mocha with the house made nut milk fell flat. It needed something. I am not a fan of syrupy coffees and appreciate the more purist approach but this one just didn't do anything for me. The chai latte which I would never order was actually the best chai latte I have ever had, it was smooth like silk. Maybe I just had the wrong coffee order. Besides that, got the hot chocolate and the coffee tasting. I was surprised there was no explanation provided with the coffee- I figured it's all Honduran but an overview of some sort would have helped. I enjoyed all the coffees in there except the latte. Will visit again, earlier in the day so they are not out of their best sellers and try a different order.

Kiss of Matcha is a dessert café centered around matcha-based drinks and Japanese-inspired sweets…read more We walked into a cozy, compact space with a focus on matcha flavors, offering everything from soft serve and parfaits to lattes, hojicha drinks, and small desserts. The concept works well for anyone looking for a place that treats matcha as the main ingredient rather than just adding it as a trendy flavor, and the energy of the shop stays calm and inviting, making it a good spot for a focused dessert stop. The biggest highlight is the matcha soft serve, which has a stronger tea flavor compared to many sweeter matcha desserts. We ordered a cup and found the flavor leaning slightly earthy and bitter, giving it a more authentic matcha profile while still staying creamy and approachable. The Kiss of Matcha Parfait is another standout, combining different textures with matcha, toppings, and dessert elements that make it feel more complete than a simple scoop. The layers of the parfait were well composed, with the matcha soft serve, mochi, and crunchy elements coming together in a way that kept each bite interesting. The hojicha options are also worth trying if you prefer a roasted tea flavor that is smoother and less intense, and the hojicha soft serve offered a warm, toasted note that contrasted nicely with the brighter matcha. The menu has a nice mix of drinks and desserts, with items like croffles, mochi, and dango adding more variety beyond the usual matcha latte. The croffle is a good pairing with the drinks since the crisp texture works well with the richer flavors, and we found it held up well against the cream and toppings. There are also non-matcha options like vanilla soft serve, which makes it easier to visit with a group where everyone has different preferences, and the variety across the menu gives you room to explore beyond the matcha offerings. The space is smaller, so it feels more like a quick dessert stop rather than a place to spend hours. Seating is limited, but the cozy decoration and outdoor seating options make it a comfortable spot to enjoy your order when space is available. The indoor area is thoughtfully arranged, and the outdoor seating adds a nice option for warmer days. Service can vary depending on how busy it gets, but the overall experience is centered more around the quality of the desserts, and the staff are friendly and efficient when handling the flow of orders. Kiss of Matcha is a strong choice for matcha lovers looking for desserts with a deeper tea flavor. The combination of quality matcha, creative dessert options, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a spot worth returning to, especially if you enjoy trying different matcha creations. The balance of authentic flavors, thoughtful presentation, and a relaxed environment makes it a destination for a more intentional matcha experience.

When you order your drink, you have to enter inside the bookstore to wait for your drink to be called, but you can take the time to stroll around and look at their book selection and trinkets. Heads up: the seating here is limited but very lovely. Inside, there are a couple of community tables, but their outdoor area is absolutely magical, with lush greenery and benches for you to enjoy your drinks. Brief Summary: - New favorite place to eat mille crepe cake…read more- Not so sweet, easy to eat - Beautiful and peaceful interior - Near the MUNI N line I was looking for a new cake place to try, so when I searched for one in San Francisco, this one appeared in the first page. It was near the districts I like to go, and because I haven't been there in a while, I thought it was a good opportunity to visit here. This cake shop is very close to one of the MUNI line stops if you take the N line. The store had a sign propped up with the list of the mille crepe cakes and some of the chiffon. The basque cheesecake selection were not one there, so I assume that these are new items. The interior of this shop is so cute. It's as if I walked in a quaint early spring environment. The initial plan was to buy the cakes to take home, but I was now interested to stay to have a drink before buying the cake. There were seats in the further end of the building, so we sat there, relaxed while drinking coffee. I ordered 3 different cakes of different flavors - earl grey mille crepe cake - pandan chiffon cake - tiramisu basque cheese cake If someone asked me which one I liked the most, I would take time deciding because I loved all of them. All of them were not so sweet and also easier to eat; even the basque cheesecake. I showed the basque cheesecake photo to my colleague, and they were surprised: 'it's almost like having 2 cakes in 1!' was the memorable response to it. I also loved the mille crepe cake. This one left a fun and colorful impression of crepe cakes. I got the earl grey and I loved how it was almost like drinking an earl grey tea at the same time. I tasted the bergamot oil from the tea. I also liked how the crepe cake was overall moist and juicy (I wonder if it's because I chose a tea themed crepe cake?) I love the chiffon cake, and this also topped with the bias of me loving pandan. I was also surprised that the cream area was not just cream but packed with coconut meat. It gave a nice chewy flavor in between the cushion soft cake layer. The cake top decoration is so subtle yet gorgeous, it's a great cake to serve on celebrations too.

The nuts were not fresh and crunchy. I liked the tiramisu much better but it's not in anyway better than a real tiramisu cake. It was interesting to eating thin layers of pancakes nicely frosted with cream. It is obviously a labor of love to make. There's a lot of different flavors but I'm on the fence about trying another one.
